[GI] GA1 issues after merger

    This merger is terrible. GA1 was already over loaded with players and company imbalanced. Why didn't they just merge GA5 with GA4 instead adding more players to an already crowded server?
    Here's what I've experienced so far
    1. I couldn't play for over 4 days. I kept getting a connectivity error. I tried each and every server, from German to Italy, and not one would connect. That was NOT my pc, as others reported the same problem.
    2. Once I was able to log into the game, it takes several tries to get the game client to open.
    3. Today I had the same issue trying to get the game client to open, had to hit "new connection"
    several times before it would connect. I was able to play just fine for a few hours, however, in the past hour when I switched from lower to upper map, it disconnected me. When I hit new connection, it wouldn't connect. I closed out and relaunched the game client.
    4. Game client partially connected. Closed and reopened several times. Finally appeared to be connected, however, I had no shield. I was sitting in the 5-2 space station with heart formation. Shield was gone and not coming back after 5 or so minutes.
    5. I opened the ship icon and there was a blank space where the shield strength numbers should be.
    6. Sent an email to support to complain about the ridiculous server merges and how it was impacting GA1. Switched back to game client and I now have the log in page while my back page appears to still be logged in.
    Whoever decided merging servers and cramming more people onto GA1 without doing their research to find if it could handle it should be fired. A quick look through the past issues with unwanted traffic on this server should be proof enough that GA1 can't handle anymore players.

    Also, due to the existing dominance of VRU on GA1, they've usurped and hogged the PVP maps for years, making boxing for the best/double loot impossible for EIC and MMO.
    EIC always had 5-3. Now, because of the merger, the GA5 VRU players are trying to take 5-3 from EIC, so now other companies will be robbed of ALL of the lucrative maps on GA1.
    THANKS A FREAKIN' LOT DARK ORBIT for sucking all the fun out of the game by merging servers and upsetting the existing balance of GA1 so the unless you are VRU, you can't play.

    EMP mines not working against the Venom singularity. No matter how many times I hit the function key or used my mouse to click to deploy the EMP, the UI was unresponsive & it wouldn't deploy. It wasn't lag. I was moving just fine. It wasn't my mouse or my keyboard because shortly after my ship was destroyed, and I was out of the presence of the opposing player, the functionality came back instantly.

  2. Server seems to be better performance today Taffy. Gather some EIC friends together and take back the 5-3 sector. Many of us MMO players be happy to help you out there :D

    Taffy - I have had a similar experience and was also a bit upset, until I remembered they might have used a PLD rocket which can affect use of weapons, including mines.
    If possible, may want to keep a log on when this happens and submit that as part of a trouble report. More data to DEVS couldn't hurt.

    Do you still experience issues there should be sync going on the server. Please let me know. About Venom singularity ddi you took damage or was it just visual bug ?

    Thanks for the offer, FT! Enemy players still taking over in 5-3, not happy about that.
