...AND THEY HAVE FIVE TYPES OF WEAPONS... FIVE ! Can you imagine the pain when they want to craft something ? *audience laughing*

Interesting, have the same stats on m blue's too. I am guessing you are making universal shield for both tanking and pvp?

Its a great advantage for DK's to have many types of weapons despite the 25% chance when doing 1x 3x formula. More weapons DK's have more chance to get yellow lines :p

Personally I used it for both 2hnd axe and 1hnd axe. At one moment I had 1x hammer and 3x axe in blue, and I got 2 yellow lines pink, but hammer, no big deal, I accepted it knowing I will use 3x axes with the pink formula which I did.

Same thing happened with the 1hnd weapon, had 1h mace with almost 99.7% 2 yellow lines. First good attempt yielded 1hnd axe 149,7%, but last line went to crit 600. I had planned to get 3x dmg % and 1x dmg, but on further inspection I realised there is only like 30-50 DPS difference against 2x dmg and 2x inc dmg, and that was with imaginary 38 red gems.

I am going for another route ... while everyone is using shield and looking for max block rate and block strength ... I might use quiver and raise my armor and resistance to max. I think it would have the same effect.

    What you think _Baragain_ ?

I'm not Baragain, but I think this would be a complete waste of time and ressources. Remember that you can reach the max block rate with 1 or 2 items... and that you need to get to +9000 to max out your armor and resistances... can you do that with 2 items ? :p

How are you guys crafting? Are you putting in 2 good items only, and 2 junk, crafting 100s of times till u get the desired outcome?

Yeah, pretty much. Since the goal is to transfer good stat lines I do not want those in the consumed on revert slot. The exception is green to blue where it is one good item and three junk (since only one stat will transfer.) The only other thing I would add is that my "junk" items I save for craft have as many slots as I can find.

    Luck be with ye,

Yes, I Have 1 bag full of good items to craft and almost another inventory bag full of junk ingredients for crafting.
It is easy till we craft EO gears. It gets completely slow after this stage. Takes weeks/months to get a right legendary crafted. So, my inventory is piled up with pink items.

Not really. You'd be missing out on a huge effective HP muliplier. If you have 80% reduction from armor, you have an effective HP multiplier of x4. That is the most you could hope for. If you have a shield, it also can act as a multiplier. If you got a perfect 80%/80% (which isn't really possible at the moment), you'd be able to reach a 2.78 multiplier. A more reasonable goal is 80%/70% which would be a 2.27 multiplier. So lets look at two examples:

    Example 1:
10,000 HP, No shields, 80% armor and resist=40,000 effective HP

    Example 2:
10,000 HP, A 75%/65% shield (rather easy), but only 60% armor and resist=51,282 effective HP

That is a big difference, and the first example would be very difficult to obtain where as the second would be much easier. Trying to max out armor/resist shows you diminishing returns, as does a shield, but trying to "replace" a shield with high armor/resist is not reasonable.

    EDIT:
And in the spirit of the thread... I love it when I get a drop like this!

    EDIT 2:
I love it when a craft doesn't only move the two lines that you wanted to move, but it also gives you a decent random stat. It isn't so crazy as a 3/3, but it is close enough that I'm sure that it will be tough to even make a 3/4 legendary to beat this.

With these and my 1x2% speed gem and my Fairy Wand, I was able to make a build with 102.86% travel speed for in town... that made me faster on foot than someone with an epic mount and it was funny. Then I got on my mount and I was flying! (But not literally... I don't like wings and don't have any on my DK. :p)

This is not a final result btw, they're a material for when I craft a 2/2 something boots, since it's the only thing I seem to get yellow lines in.

28.85... you just had to out do my 27.36, didn't you. :p

Very nice BTW. That 9.1 may not be too good for an "end product", but the 9.9 and 9.8 are very nice.

I'd change all my future luck for crafting for a weapon like yours any day lol, anyway.

The 9.1% line was from a disposable item on the third slot, I had a 9.6% one on the second slot and the 9.8% and 9.9% were on the first, but since it took these 2 on the first try, plus the 9.1% one, I didn't dare tempt my luck and accepted it right away, since it took the 2 highest lines anyway. And it's indeed not an end product, my idea for this item is to craft it with something else to make a 2/2 or 2/1/1 of some sort, I'm still deciding on which lines would be wiser to combine with those 9.8% and 9.9% lines of movement speed to make it a versatile item that fits in different builds, but my first idea are resistances, any suggestions are appreciatted. :p

Then again ... you are talking from DK's point of view.
Ranged classes don't have to take hits. Even with 80% BS/BR you won't be blocking every single hit ... but with resistance and armor all the hits are being reduced by same amount constantly.
I might try 70% Armor/resistance and raise my HP ... on top of that it will be offensive build with high damage, crit and crit damage.

True, but if you are planning on not taking many hits, then you might as well use items that maximize your offensive power with any defense you have being a happy byproduct.

Above I was simply saying that trying to achieve high defense despite caring enough about offense that you won't use a shield, you are wasting your time. My philosophy regarding my 2H build (in the pure offensive build) is that no item should have zero boost to my DPS and that so any defense that comes with that is purely coincidental. That should be even easier for a RA who plans to not take any hits.

    BTW, It's six.

I have 2extra-ordinary.. both with 2 golden lines.. been trying to combine with 2other wands for a legendary wand with 3 golden lines.. I have failed for about 40times times now.. am i doing something wrong? or is just my luck?

According to the math you have 1 chance out of 27 to get 1 legendary with 3 golden lines.
    Keep trying ;)

I have 4 golden lines out of 12.. so 1 out of 4 chances.. no?

    You have 3 inherited lines.
1/3 of your lines on the exos are golden.
Each inherited line has therefore 1 out of 3 chance to be golden.
The probability to have 3 inherited golden lines is 1/3*1/3*1/3=1/27

My maths not so good!

  20. _Baragain_

    _Baragain_ Living Forum Legend

Nope, it is a 1:54 chance.

Reason being is that your first probability is 4/12, the chance for the second is 3/11, and the chance for the third one is 2/10. When you do the math (4*3*2)/(12*11*10), you get a 1.82% chance.

Armando's chart, found here, has all the probabilities for all possible combinations of gold lines. To find your "1 in X chance," simply divide 100 by the % chance, and it will give you your odds. For example, 100/1.82=54, so you have a 1 in 54 chance.
Math says that just to hit the average, you still have another 14 fails to go. That being said, you could do 100 or even 1000 and still not succeed. The longer you try, the more statistically likely it is that you will get what you want, but there is still the random factor.

That being said, one thing you can do to improve your odds is to collect exos with 1 gold line and put it in slot 3 or 4 (or both). This can improve your chances to 1:22 (1 extra gold line) or 1:11 (2 extra gold lines) on an individual craft.
    Don't worry, apparently his isn't either. :p
