Progress is slow due to extreme variability to # of mini-bosses & drop rate of wolf blood from regular werewolves. I did 11 runs on Lvl47 RA, with progress ranging from 52 to 346, and overall average of 150 per run (all Normal except one Painful which only dropped 108, plus made Vargulf impossibly difficult for my still growing toon --> don't run Painful unless you've got an above average toon).

150 progress per run --> 33 or so runs to complete the event. But, for my middling toon, it takes 20-25 minutes per run (including Moonsilver Mine) ... 10 to 15 hours is a lot for me to put into the game over two days, especially during the work week. So, I didn't stress over completing it, picked up some Draken for future Gnob purchases, took it as a learning lesson. After my toon hits Lvl50 and begins to flesh out, I'll make a more concerted effort to complete the event.

Item drop rate, on the other hand, was pretty decent: A mini-boss gave me a Vargulf Quiver, and I also dropped two of the Tier 1 items (I think one from Vargulf, 1 from mini-boss, but they may have both been from Vargulf on different runs). 3 uniques out of 11 runs (that only includes 6 Vargulf kills, as Blood Vials are hard to come by).

Speaking of which, would be nice to get more Blood Vials. My progress only got me 4, plus one from initial quests, plus a single 2-vial drop from the Rubina quest-reward chests. Maybe I'll get luckier next time with Blood Vials from those chests?

Depending on the number of mini-bosses --> the amount of silver essence spent, the Moonsilver mine essence drop was fairly generous. On one efficient run through the main event map, the essence drop in the Mine exceeded my essence spent top-side by 257 units. Again, your mileage may vary depending on your skills / efficiency and the type of toon you're playing.

On the other hand, the Mine was almost laughably easy. In fact, on Normal, the entire run was easy, day or night. Defending Rubina was a tiny bit stressful on Painful, but doable.

But, as I noted above, for a Lvl48 RA, Vargulf was impossible on Painful: Couldn't get through his minions fast enough to barely touch him. Even with temp Premium in play and resurrecting 6 or 7 times on that one run, I only just nudged his health bar before giving up. Not asking for a nerf of Vargulf, just letting other non-max players know that they shouldn't be too disappointed if they can't get through him on Painful.

On the flip-side, defending Rubina and mini-bosses are still very doable on Painful. Next time, I'll run Painful every time I >don't< have a Blood Vial ready to attack Vargulf, drop back to Normal on the runs where I start off with a Blood Vial.

First a little background: I have not played any moon event for a long time. I quit doing them months before I left the game at the end of 2014. However one of the things I used to do was collect paths to Varholm to complete a 2 quest daily (this was back when the paths were cheaper and long before the RF drought) or run the day map to kill x# of mobs also for daily. This left me with many toons stocked up with the two base items, paths and silver ess, for this event (and on a couple of toons stack of silver scrolls.) So I figured what the heck lets give it a go.

To say that I was pleasantly surprised by the makeover for this event is an understatement. I am running day maps with a least a couple toons most days now and looking forward to the next event.

The biggest plus for me is the carry-over of the new main quest line. I can play a toon for just a bit and pick up where I left off next month. I new the main quest was going to carry over on my toons that finished all they could on the night map. But I also ran every toon I had into the map just to say."Hi' to Sabina and collect my 10 draken. After the event was over I saw even those had the main quest line in their logs.

The scaling of the mobs for the different difficulties is very good. I can throw just about any ole toon at normal mode. Painful is doable for my better ones. Excruciating is a bit insane but that is my own doing since I do not dedicate a lot of time to a "main" character like normal players (note: I mean no offense by calling anyone here "normal" :D)

The addition of M2, the Silver Mine, really adds to this event. Not only another map with more drops but being able to replenish a bit of silver ess during the event was nice.

Speaking of drops a good job was done here. Not just the usual magic, exo, legend but also the old Vargulf gear and the new items were quite reasonable.

Perhaps going into this with no expectations of anything special helped my fun factor. Maybe after a couple more events I might have some suggestions for improvement. For now I am a quite enjoying this as is.

    Luck be with ye,
    Mikey,
    Tegan

For me, DSO currently has only two events worthy of attention and play. The Full Moon is one of these. Congratulations, good job... for now.

This event was a very good event although i didn't finished it (work and stuff ^^).

    Positive:
    - good amount of mobs on the map
    - drops are good
    - daytime/night quests is an excellent idea
    - Boss is not too hard but not too easy to beat
    - silvermine is an excellent addition to renew your silver essence.
    - Minibosses are fun and come in a good amount.
    - rewards are good

    Negative:
    - werewolf blood should maybe be obtained from other sources as well (world boss drop or something like that).

I'll edit this post if i'll remember more stuff.

IMO, this one is the opposite of the New Moon boredom; progression speed is reasonable, and I've even completed ~50% of it in a short time. I hated collecting essences during day to prepare myself with enough to do the event, so I'm very glad to see the mine is there as an ess-refiller :)

Love, Love, Love this event...do not like the "NEW" New Moon at all the only sugguestion is for the New Full Moon is to make it a little shorter to complete...say to 3000 rather than 5000 . For those player, like me, that work 5,000 is too long would never complete in the time allotted.......

I can not believe that this event did the same team that reworked new "new moon". This event has improved as much as the new moon destroyed.

Before I start, I'll save an edit for later when I get to try the Blood moon thingy and see how the balance was made on those, since they require a special type of essences.

My first impression for this event is quite good though, I'll follow a list on positive/negative points to avoid one of my long parchments:

    Positive:
    • The event is doable in the given time frame without having to stop working, eating and/or sleeping (unlike New Moon).
    • The drop rates are quite decent for everything so far, except those new cloak gems from Vargulf (unlike New Moon).
    • The open silver mine during active event time is a big yes.
    • Vargulf's power seems about right for every difficulty.
    • Old set dropping from Moonhowlers is another big yes.
    • The variety of enchantments on Moonhowlers is a success, makes it interesting.
    • I'm loving the quests, they're interesting, refreshing, the visions are a nice addition and most importantly, they might look lenghty at first, but so far they're not grindy.
    Negative (+Insight):
    • Almost non-existent difference in drops from Vargulf through normal/painful/excruciating: I don't mind the difficulty to kill Vargulf on higher levels, but the drop rate needs to be tweaked, maybe make tier 2 items available from Excruciating, at the very least, DON'T nerf the drop on normal/painful, IMPROVE Excruciating.
    • I heard nothing about anybody dropping on of the lowest tier new gems, if we're going to see one of those before we have grandkids you gotta improve their drop rate as well.
    • The evil amphorae's time limit being the exact same on different difficulties is a big fat nope: The minion's power is somewhat reasonable..., the problem is that in excruciating he has about the same HP as Vargulf, and it's damn impossible for 98% of the players to get him down in 30 seconds even with red essences, either make him equally powerful across all levels or increase the time limit to kill it when in higher difficulties, it's already very rare to find it to have it go to waste due to the insignificant time limit.
    • The randomness of the instance could use a tweak, there's some instances packed with Moonhowlers and some others that are almost empty of them, I'd love to see a more standard number of them.
That'll be all for now, I'll come back and edit when I test the rest of the features and/or if I remember more of it.

P.S. Thanks @Sunlight for reading my message on the other post, have a nice day.

+1 to the general good vibe around this event. I don't need to post my extensive opinion/feedback, because EhtovK already said it perfectly. What I'd add, however, is - make the progress auto-loot and keep doing it with other events as well, where possible (for example, it'd be nice in Desert of Essences too). Everything else is just right. This is one of the last rays of hope DSO has in what concerns events (Dragan too, but we'll have to wait and see if they really ruined that one too or not... hopefully not, or not so much, at least).

One problem though... the mini bosses should drop a minimum of an exo in the painful/excruciating maps, just like the PWs. I don't like doing the same amount of work for less drops
It is a rare drop from the map Amphoras (the ones that you can open free). I've done the event twice now and gotten one from this method.
Agreed. I did it twice last night on excruciating in 24 seconds, and I had the following stats.
A average player, or even very good one, wouldn't stand a chance trying this. This is me with reds, a 10% damage buff, and 15 points in attack speed as opposed to HP. That is 66k DPS which tells me that you need to do about 750k to 800k damage in 30 seconds (assuming 50% armor/resist, 1.5m-1.6m before reduction). There are very, very few players who can pull that off, and most of them are mechs.

I 100% agree. The harder the map the better the drop should be.

Yes it's rare (i never got one from the free amphoras), but should be obtainable from maybe minibosses in the map or world bosses, maybe make it something you get from the daily challenges (i know you can get one by defeating Vargulf challenges, but the logic of it is problematic, you need to kill the boss in order to get the resource to summon the boss).

Yes, guess it's intended to be taken as a free kill, since you practically get your blood back.

I have gotten a 2 or 3 vargulf summoning vials from the chest you get from defending rubina. A lot of groups don't want to spend the time doing that defend quest as it is 9 waves plus a mine trip.

If you already have the blood, yes, but if you don't have it, you can't summon the boss, if you can't summon the boss, you can't complete it and get the blood to summon the boss (my head just exploded :p)

I like this quest, it's fun :D but never got blood from the chest, i guess the luck gods abandoned me :p

Then I guess it is a good thing that we get plenty from the progress bar, isn't it? :D

Yeah, not exactly hard to get those vials. Especially if you play with others, not just on your own.

Yes, but if you get it from other stuff as well, the ones on the progress bar can be changed with other rewards.

Indeed, but some players like to play more solo than others, and they should have the same chance of getting blood like the ones that play in groups.

Good point with the rewards thingy... maybe. I like the bar the way it is right now. Let's not give them any ideas xD.

As for the second claim... well, you're not wrong (I do both, depending on the situations at hand, time, people on and with the same goals, etc.), but in this case and similar ones, grouping makes for more effective summoning-item usage. Therefore, I think those who use them wisely should keep this advantage over those who solo. Then again, this would mostly apply to groups you can trust (friends/guild)... with randoms, eh, you never know xD.
