Hello... I was having a small issue on this quest http://prntscr.com/cuk3h1 . I was in a party and my friend activated the runes and later unless i come back to the map i couldn't activate them because the runes were activated by my friend 1st.

It is not an issue ... all quests are working that way. You have to be on the map or get in a new map.
If you change the map you will have to kill Vargulf again.

You mean that my friend could do it (i mean PRESS the runes not the last that says "talk to rubina") and i couldn't? i mean the first quests not the last one... I just showed the picture to understand the quest i am talking about. Only the one person from the party could press the runes and i couldn't.

All you have to do is be present in the map. It doesn't matter which member of the group is activating them ... the quest line is being marked as finished for all members in the group (present at the map).
You don't have to click on the runes ... all you have to do is take the quest and be there.

Naww, I'm just having the same issue with my group buddy.. I clicked the rune stones (after killing Vargulf) and the bloodmoon portal opens up only for me, not to the other person (but they took all the quests in the village, same as I did)..

@venom, you have to do it alone first time, than you will be able to do it in group :)

As Venom said, it doesn't work that way in a group, me and my partner tried doing it at the same time and it got bogus for me since I didn't click the runes (question mark dissapears when the other person clicks it first), we had to take a new instance for me to be able to open the Bloodmoon portal.

Nice, now bigpoint buff the damage of mobs.It was very easy and i couldn't even feel hurt at lv2 in the last event but now the mobs hit very hurt . Instead of making the newmoon easier they make the fullmoon harder, what a bigpoint's style :p

    Good and bad time...

My first impression of the blood moon map was positive. I was doing it on excruciating and the mob difficulties were what I was expecting and I got tons of event progress because they dropped 120-240 from each mini boss.

Then I got to the Bloodmage and I prepared myself for the worse. Turns out, he wasn't so bad. He was electric/rage/vampiric, but it was easy enough to kill him. No deaths. Doing the map and the boss, it cost about 1k of the 150% silver ess.

I thought to myself "Cool, this is actually really nice!"
    ...
    ...
    ...
    Then I did round two.

In round two, I spent less time killing mobs on the map since their drops weren't worth wasting the ess on. By the time I got to the boss, I was ahead by about 200 less ess spent. This boss was fire/telaport/vampiric. This fight was miserable! First of all, his explosion was enough to do over 12k damage to me, meaning that if I had anything less than full HP, I was likely dead.

The next bit of stupidity is his little cast red circle. After a couple of seconds, if he is inside the red circle when it "explodes," he regens an INSANE amount of HP. So, I run, like anyone with an ounce of common sense, and then he teleports right next to me as the thing explodes and he gets 1.8 million HP back!

And he didn't do this once... Noooooo, he did that three different times!
Here is the result of him using it once:
    Before: _______________________________________After:
    [IMG] [IMG]

1800000 HP is roughly equal to 60 hits from someone like me, and on average, a hit is worth 3 essence, meaning that I wasted over 500 essence because of something that was near impossible to prevent! If this was anyone with less DPS than me, they probably would have never stood a chance of recovering after one or two of these OP heals.

This seriously needs to be reconsidered. I could only imagine the frustration a group would face when the tank is holding agro (right next to the boss no less), gets that stupid circle cast on them, and then the team has as much as half their work washed away in the blink of an eye. Whichever developer thought up of an excruciating boss getting half their HP back due to a nearly undodgeabe combination of attacks deserves to be fired.

I didnt play the new map, as this my first new full moon (and that 3 events requirement to get there is dumb and unnecesarry complication), but I did the first map on fatal solo (mage), just to see how wargulf goes, and it is a joke. I died quite a few times, and spent around 8 minutes on red killing him (well, running through the map fee times). So much going on, unavoidable shots etc. I kill sigi fatal much faster. Of course with dk it is much easier, with all those healing foes around.

So I came to conclusion, that the generic formula 900% more hp and 300% more dmg just doesnt work. All bosses are different and have different side skills that add few dimensions of complexity (like the one with insane regen you mentioned), so that generic formula should be adjusted from boss to boss. It would make sense if the boss wouldnt get new skills at every level of complexity, perhaps. But not like it is today.

I killed wargul painful with silver ess in no time, and I strugled so much in fatal with red. It makes no sense to me.

Act 1: The person who read the feedback on Dragan's unique drop rates being low and suggested decreasing them further and elevating the costs to access, who earned applauses, a voucher for a free beer and got his idea implemented right away, enters the meeting room.

Act 2: This person says: "Hey I have a brilliant idea for the Bloodmoon map" *everyone trembles with excitement, eyes wide open*...

Act 3: He exposes the idea like this: "Let's make the Bloodmage immune to any damage unless you use a very special type of essences which will be kinda scarce by farming, then let's give him an insane attack speed as a natural stat and ~90% chance for secondary vampiric enchantment, also, a special skill so he can heal for around 50% of his HP, very hard to avoid, with quite a decent cooldown, of course this is designed so that every time the tank/meelee or sometimes even the ranged player slips, we'll get the DPS chars to waste more and more of those scarce essences..., but wait, here's when the brilliant part comes... (everyone shivers with antici.....pation! :p), of course they'll be available at the shop!" *everyone bursts into clapping and cheering and give him yet another voucher for free beer*

So yeah, it's a cheap method of cash grab, it's not sustainable, but, this time around, joke's on BP, the Bloodmage is dropping useless items which are only valuable as Glyphs of power, so I'll be skipping him most of the time anyway since he has almost no value if you take resources used vs returns into consideration.

P.S. Told ya months ago that the fire enchantment is broken and unbalanced :p, that's the only enchantment me and my couple fear in a mini boss/boss.
P.S.2. Did you get the small movie reference?, just wondering :D.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ding ding ding ding!, winner winner chicken dinner! :D, we've been posting about the stupid scaling since the last Dragan event back in June, lazy programming makes them copy/paste the same generic formula again and again even though it's not ideal/sustainable just like you said, have they done anything?, NOPE, will they? hahahahahaha...

We had the same issues on for Dunes of Dissappointment, Dragan maps, Full Moon, and we'll probably get the same for the upcoming Ghost Festival, the Christmas event, next years Thanksgiving and so on :).

T.L., D.R.: The map is interesting, mildly entertaining, very beautiful design, but the difficulty scaling is so bad it appears it was made by my 3 years old nephew with his abacus, just as with every "painful" and "excruciating" event map you've been delivering for months now.

    Regards. ;)

And here we are, seeing our last two dear events getting slowly, but steadily destroyed :(...

Hell knows why they touched the regular map and made it harder, it was OK last time (and OFC, nobody said a thing ). FFS, do they not remember they flunked this before and had to make the mini-bosses less tanky and hard-hitting  ? Talk about going back to square one o_O. And as reported, Vargulf's difficulty is WAY off the balance with the map's degree . And surely, some mob enchants. are simply broken in combination. We have all seen Fire, Darkness and Vampiric as being some of the more annoying alone, and heaps more in combination; add an Armor one too and you're screwed. Rage as well... these things need to be nerfed and/or balanced . I understand they're "RANDOM monster enchantments", but still. Just... just freakin' STOP :mad: ! Get your dirty hands OFF this and the Dragan event and leave us with at least these two, for crying out loud :mad: ! I haven't gotten to the Bloodmap yet, but as I see here, it's another flop... can't say I'm surprised .

Guys ... I know what I am saying and what I am doing.
I was playing all day long yesterday .... I didn't click a single time on the runes. The other players in the group were doing that.
What I am always doing before start farming events : I am finishing all the quests alone. When all the quests are finished I am ready to play in group.
Baragain ... you always say you are paying attention to details ... but it looks like you missed most important detail with the mage :p :p :p

For the others ... read this if you don't know what is getting his HP back:
It is not him who is getting his HP back ... it is YOU who is regenerating his HP :D
You must focus on yourself when fighting ... he is casting some kind of spell ... you can see a circle around you rotating clockwise. When this circle appears around you ... you better start running away from him ... because it will "explode or whatever" it will not do you any harm but it will get more than 50% of his HP back. So focus on that spell ... all you have to do when it appears is to run away from him and don't be close to him (the radius of that circle is the safe distance).
It is not impossible to avoid it ... just run at safe distance an he won't be getting his HP back ... and then you can spill your rage at him :p

And yes they made the monsters harder than before ... I was killing Vargulf with silver essences solo 35 minutes (as I said above I am doing all the quests alone before start farming) I died 32435345353477745645645687756756756758942 times.
Not only the fire explosion but also his howling is now dealing fire damage.

EDIT: The Blood Mage has not been changed ... it is all the same like moths ago when I was playing this event at TS.

    Give me some credit...
Hee is easy... until he had that damn teleport skill, which he always tries using as soon as I start running away because, since I'm melee it is always cooled down, and that is what makes him so insane...
It is the teleport with that skill does this, otherwise it is easy enough to dodge that it is not too big of a deal... or did you miss the part where I said that I did the first run easily with no deaths? This is one of those times that this is way easier for the ranged classes because he would always use his teleport whenever it is ready, and you would almost never have to worry about him using this particular combination of attacks.

Finally, none of that negates that the idea of even having a skill that lets the boss regen 50% of his HP is one of their dumbest ideas ever. With the exception of Destructor (since that is just the mechanic of the fight) name one other boss that recovers like that. Khalys regens about 3%-5%after every round, but that is just to set a damage threshold for the minimum you need a round to have a net damage to her, and that is easy for any decent team to meet. Similarly with Gotta. She gains a small amount a second, but that simply means that you need more DPS than she gets HP/S... again, easy. You would need to sit attend and not attack either of then for several minuets for then to regan 50%.

You could always go to the silver mine and get some more ess and the pebbles you'll need for making the shining silver essence when you do unlock the next map.

Btw, how much pebble does one need for single event assuming no runs besides progress? 2h dmg builds, roughly. How do they convert into those shiny essences, at what ratio?

  20. GodChronos

    GodChronos Forum Expert

270 Pebbles for the curse quest lines.
90 pebbles for the shiny silver ess.
