This "unorthodox" way is used to make also platinum enchantments?

Could you tell us how to make new platinum enchantments?

Because the company is busy by scratching them!

    Hi Helkenic,
No. As platinum enchantments can only be found on exo, they will not be put on legendary by random craft.
But you get good legendaries with golden enchantments that way.
You have to build legendaries with platinum the old Fashion way just starting with exo but green, thus more expensive and less Inputs.

No. You can put any item even without a single golden line.
But you better try with higher tier items ... because your chance to get good enchantments on leg items is higher with high tier items.
    Here is what I got
Yes you can get platinum enchantments this way ... both with noob crafting and targeted crafting.
But you need to do it with magic items since you can get platinum enchantments only on exo items.
The rest is luck and the same old story about the RNG gods.
Don't overuse it ... you would run out of gold.

Yep, I will try that, thanks for your anwser.

Nice to know all that, thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I do not like at all, this "skillfull noob crafting".

Is only gambling, they made craft a "slot machine".

    Hi,

    After a month I'm now Level 55 :)

I understood the advanced crafting system but I still have question about the platinum versus yellow lines.

Currently I'm fully geared with exo rank 6 items, but none of them are crafted one.
I dropped several 2 lines exo and 1 line platinum.
Thus, I'm wondering about what I should try to craft as a single try is 200 gold...

So what should I put in slots 1 and 2 for crafting?

Case 1 : 2 items with 1 platinum line like the 1st one below.
Cas 2 : 2 items with 2 yellow lines like the 2nd one below.
    (sorry it's in French)

    Thanks ;)

    Congrats on level 55 :]

Which one of the two options you want to go for depends on what your abilities are to farm higher difficulties, and whether you want to get right to the finest stuff, or you want to make it a gradual process.

Case 1, in my opinion, is something that players do if they are already wearing full or almost full gold items.
The reason for that is, that if you craft your gear with gold lines, you can then clear high difficulty dungeons more easily. And since platinum items drop more frequently on infernal difficulties, clearing these dungeons faster will mean more platinum items for you.

In this scenario, it's not necessary to have all items crafted with gold lines to be actually pretty good at clearing infernals. But without at least your weapon and weapon adornment crafted to get damage and critical hit rate, infernals are impossible. Unless you have someone to carry you... You'll probably need more, though.

I went the Case 2 way. I crafted most of my gear with gold lines (3/4 mostly), and now I'm just playing infernal 3 with relative ease mostly, and I'm only looking for the best of the best platinum items.
Of course, going this way (gold first, platinum later) will require more crafting cores.

If this is a good strategy now, post r214, I don't know for sure, but I believe it is.

And you crafted all your actual 3/4 lines through the random craft?
I've tried it a bit, and pretty much lost 1000 gold in it for nearly nothing :/

Well, I did most of my crafting prior to r214. Crafting was cheaper, but it was harder to get gold lines in dropped items. And I'm not sure, but it seems it was also harder to get a good result on the crafting table.

For all of these items that I crafted before r214, I used the "from blues" method. It was easier to get good gold lines on blue items. I combined 2 blues, each with 1 gold line + 2 random blues. After many attempts usually, the result was 1 purple with 2 gold lines. Then I combined 2 purples, each with 2 gold lines + 2 random purples. A good enough result for me was a legendary item with 3 gold lines. 4 gold lines were very hard for me to get.

But now after r214, you might want to forget about that method. Just collect purples with gold lines. It's much easier now to get even 3-gold purple. So go ahead and try combining 2 good purples with 2 random purples, or if you have no problem dropping good purples from monsters, try even 3 good purples + 1 random :) I daresay that a 3/4 legendary item is now less acceptable. It should be easier now than before to actually get a 4/4 legendary from purples.

Coins will always be a problem...

If You have just reached level 55, don't think about Crafting Platinum equipment. It costs about 150k gold on average to craft a single equipment with 4x Platinum lines (or about 300k for a 2H weapon).

However, if You find really good Platinum lines during Your adventures, it makes sense to save them for the future.

    For now work on:

    1. Find melts (Glyphs of Power) to Upgrade all your equipment to level 60. Slowly but steadily.
    2. Save gold for Crafting later and for other expenses.
    3. Find gems and runes
    4. Try to find Unique items Tier 7 for all your Equipment
    5. Try to find good Legendary items with 2x, 3x or even 4x Gold lines. If you find something You really like You can transfer it into a unique

Next, once You have a good hold on the above basics, then You can think about Your first Craft.
By this time, if You have not found a good weapon, that would be the first thing You want to Craft, and try to Craft a 3x Increased Damage on This item weapon (or if you are lucky You can get a 4x)

Once You have crafted Your weapon, then go for Crafting 3x/4x Gold lines for all your items.

Once You have a full build of every gear with 3x/4x lines, then the next step would be to Craft any items that are only 3x into 4x Gold line items.

At this point, You would also want to craft some additional alternative gear like a full Damage Helmet and a full Crit Helmet, a Walking Speed Boots and a HP boots, some extra Defensive Gear etc.

Once these are all done, when You have a full Build with all 4x Gold line items, then the next Chapter is Platinum Crafting, but at this point You should be already hunting Infernal IV dungeons.

    Happy hunting!

    Thanks very interesting.
At the moment I'm keeping the platinum lines on exo, even if there's only one. But I only keep the interesting lines.

If I understand you correctly, you mean that I should only keep legendaries with good lines at start, not starting tryng to craft those?
I'm also keeping the exo with 2 interesting lines minimum, waste of time/ressources?

To be honest I never found a Legendary directly with 3 interesting lines..

    Cheers.

More than 1 platinum line on an exo is super rare.

    Keep both.

This is quite rare, but I got this from a world boss:

It's a killer, huh? (o_O) The golds in base and 4/4 gold lines... Of course, for a DPS build it'd be better to have the enchantments the other way around with 3x dmg + 1x armor, but damn getting this in a drop prior to r214, I'd have to change my pants...

You don't have to keep all Platinum lines but only the higher level ones (I would say at least 90% of the maximum possible value) and only the ones that would be useful to Your build. If You are running out of space, then You can get rid of the 90%-99% ones and only save the 99%+ Platinum lines. When you are about to Craft Full Platinum sets, You will only be looking at Platinum lines over 99% of the maximum value. 90-99% ones are useful if You want to craft an intermediate set that is a combination of Platinum and Gold lines. Some people may skip this kind of set and go directly to a full platinum set.

Yes, You should only keep Legendaries with Gold lines that You are interested in. For example, the following are the only useful lines for a full damage build:

    Necklace - Critical Damage %
    Belt - Damage %
    Rings - Critical Damage %
Weapon Decoration - % Increased Critical Hit Rate on This Item
Weapon - Increased Damage on This Item
Helmet - Damage %, (Secondary: Critical Hit Rate %)
Pads - Increased Armor % (or keep Witch Pads with built in Damage %)
    Torso - Damage %
    Glove - Attack Speed %
Boots - HP % or HP% Walking Speed combo or 4x Walking Speed

Higher ranks (Tier 7 for example) have a higher chance of dropping Legendaries with more and better gold lines.

Another way to get Legendaries with gold lines is to do random crafts from Pinks as already explained above by Trakilaki.

You may want to keep an Extraordinary item only if they have 3 desired gold lines (such as 3x Damage% on a Torso).
Just sell or melt anything with 1 gold lines. When You are ready to Craft, You may want to save up some Exo items with 2x Desired Golden Lines, which 4 of them can be combined for a chance of getting a 3x Golden Legendary item.

Yes, until You have Your full set of Uniques, I would not advice You to start crafting as it is going to be expensive. Also, another good reason is that You will be able to loot some of the equipment you need from Drops, so it would be a waste if You have spent a lot of gold crafting those. I would say at least wait a month, collecting gold and legendaries before You want to start crafting.

All I was going for as the 2x gold lines to craft a spare 4/4 legendary... never expected to get a platinum line, especially an almost max line, from a random magic craft.

    Unique Enchantments
With this release a new type of enchantment will be introduced, the unique enchantments. These enchantments work similar to golden enchantments and can only be found on extraordinary items.
Their values are up to 20% higher than the possible maximum value of regular enchantments. Unique enchantments will be represented by a yellow colored value in an item's tooltip.

    Proof?

The patch notes are sometimes mistaken, but it is not likely that they messed up something as critical as platinum lines showing up on improved and magic items. I've seen dozens of platinum lines on dropped exo items, but not one on a improved/magic or dropped legendary.

Youre talking to a guy that spends more hours in game daily than you would in a week.
Now lets say that this theory of yours is correct, and for the sake of gold I collect blues too but identify them for the heck of its, since r214 has been released untill this moment, in about 200 hours of play I have not seen a single drop.
    Where is your proof?

You do not have to believe me, from winter event to today I`m find 3 blue items + 1 green ring in last New moon event. I did not shoot because I thought it was normal. Three players from mine guild confirm that they also found blue & green items with yellow lines.

As the old internet phrase goes "Pics, or it didn't happen."

I've got enough time in game since R212 that if it were possible, it would have happened by now. It is easy to type something and claim that anonymous others have seen these too. On the other hand, I have a sizable network of people that I know to be trustworthy and I would believe the things they say, but not one of them have seen such an item. Also, enough other people know what the patch notes say that if there were "exceptions," they'd have shown up on the various DSO FB pages, or even the threads here. If these items are as common as you seem to think, prove me wrong. My bet is that you'll not be able to provide any concrete evidence and I'm not often wrong.
