Hi there! My character is hunter and most of the players at the game use the karabossa set but a really good player at my server told me a different built that actually is really interesting.....d9 amulet, khalis cloak, d4 belt, mortis ring, dragan-mask,boots and ring-
    d8 set, d7 set and d5 shoulders!

Should i try it? Would it be better?

Khaly cloak vs kara cloak - 9% dmg + 4% run speed vs 16% crit hit chance +10 % crit dmg... kara win! When you use x4 dmg helmet you need these % crit chance , with khaly cloak you need craft x3 dmg+x1 crit chance or x2+x2 for compensation .Khaly cloak is beter for SW&SM , they use q7+q8 set. You can try another alternative build - q5+7+8+9 , easy to craft , no need draken cores.

I'm using that setup. Except you probably mean Q8 set, not Q9.

I'm happy with it. Despite the fact that Q8's lightning bolts don't crit.

The best about this build is that you don't need that many draken cores to upgrade your gear. I only have 3 draken core items: helm, boots, and ring.

deliburan78 is right about the critical hit rate on the cape. Well, I have both spider cloaks in my stash, so I can always swap that.

As for damage, the Witch Seeker set that everyone wants (shoulders, torso, belt; head) is not necessary to have good damage. It only increases your max damage. No big deal. Yes, you'll have like maybe 3000 more max damage (depending on the power of your other items), but good luck collecting them draken cores.

You forget 15% dmg from t6 shoulders , t7 17% max . When we increase max dmg, we increase total dmg as well.

Yeah that's right. It's a great set. On top of that, with 4 parts you get a lot more concentration.
However, for me it's no fun having to grind so many draken cores. And you need more and more draken cores, because sooner or later you are going to have to maybe soul core transfer because of new level cap, and it's just a chore.

Anyway, my current base damage of 26800 - 33100 would go up to 28200 - 36900 if I were using the Witch Seeker set. It does boost your damage, no doubt about that.

    Only the shoulders increases damage
Max damage changes the variables so that there can be occasional higher crits
example a mage that uses bloodrune and instead of the max damage bonus of 3 pieces (from witch seeker) opt for other forms of damage can have constant high crits much smaller variables and much bigger min damage crits.
If you want an example of an insane damage build that does not use q7
    belt of zeal
    cloak of heroes
    Q4 bow
tear holder or tear holder x2 alt ring like cube ring also good for second ring
    dragan gloves helm boots
    witch seeker pouldrons
dark torso for a little extra crit
    helmet full damage ofc.
    q9 amulet
    magotina adornment
this build has 40% weapon damage and 157 to 163% increased damage.
Only problem with this is that the player will need full royals in adornment. (which few has)

Belt of Zeal? It can only be obtained from Emilia on Premium days, right?
Its unique ability is dependent on defeating lots of weak monsters, so you can stack the 0.2% dmg effect a 100 times. Yes, it lasts for 1 whole minute, but you will have a problem in boss fights anyway :/ Or?

Q4 bow is only quite good against clusters of enemies.

But idk, I'm not pretending I know stuff :D It can be a cool build.

Not q4 bow , bloodmage bow for bonus 100% weapon damage I guess . But it have the same problem vs bosses. Try this : with q8 bow use full skill scratter shot for map clearing out , EA only for very strong minions & bosses. Btw I don`t have belt of zeal for the same reason - 100 times stack don`t work good vs bosses , vs mobs I don`t need it.

it is quite fun using belt of zeal, be this at the cost of your own stress, mainaining the buff becomes quite an obsesssion, and yes vs boss if you take longer than x amount of seconds (how many ever you have left) the buff goes away.
But just for the sheer insanity of keeping that buff and the runspeed yeah I guess its fun xD
My guildmate Soulsight is a ranger and I am a dk our builds are more or less the same item wise. (he can use belt of zeal I cannot in boss battles)
Hetsunien is in our guild too he uses q4 too. (he kills insanely fast in boss battles)

The OP original had some all caps title asking for help/advice... The mods must have taken exception and changed it. The forum etiquette rules do say to avoid all caps BECAUSE IT IS THE INTERNET EQUIVOLENT OF YELLING... Sorry, hope I didn't hurt your ears.

I don't get the whole blood mage weapon idea. It's a 2-hand bow with crap base stats that compensates for that with the 100% damage bonus that can only be used if you stay above certain HP level :/ I haven't done any calculations though, so maybe it can be a good option...

I've only recently started using the Q7 device of madness, but I was a Q4 bow user for like 1.5 years. I still like it a lot. I really want to make a comparison video of Q4 vs. Q7, since I happen to have almost identical enchantments on both bows.
To me it does feel that Q7 just annihilates everything like a nuclear bombing, while Q4 really takes its time. It's a Tormentor, after all, and torture has to be slow...

Currently @Hetsunien uses conc and conc reduction combined with EA and DB to get amazing resuslts.
I am very well aware of the destructive capabilities of Q7 by all means its pretty hard to beat even in most cases to be compared with, however its like Hets said " Most q7 users run out of explosive arrows then doesn't know what to do"
And the whole Q7 thing is rediculous, you see a mega troop of noobs running around with q7 and they dont even know how to craft gold lines yet, in most cases they saw an OP player in action and or they saw a video and say oh thats the weapon that guy uses.
As for your remark about bloodrune:
I quote a player Robertis Alexandros in this " And then your hp falls below 33% and then what?"
Yes bloodrune is kinda sucky at boss battles.
But make no mistake the unique line on that weapon is weapon damage and works like dragan set bonus. let me insert a screenshot to show you what it achieves dmg wise and that even excludes attack speed.
that is at 100% skill damage and 3.3 attack speed (3.3 being attainable now)
the gems used is 5 ordinary royals
    White essences
No unique lines only gold lines.
Cloak of heroes and no witch seeker set bonus.
    weapon @ t8 ofc

If HP falling below 33%, then come dragan ring guardian , you change position (use jump or BD or adrenaline), summon wolfes/wraith & use HP potion ,or just use HP potions & continued fight in melle mode ,with DB. After few hits you are full in up with HP & concentracion , collect drop & go to next monster cluster ... like every smart ranger .

Hetsunien is right. If you give in to the EA frenzy, you might find yourself exhausted and die easily. True that.

I tried to apply the Blood Rune bow to my build, assuming I would just throw the Q7 bow away. My calculation shows that with the same enchantments, the Blood Rune bow actually only gives me 500 less damage on average, which will be compensated with the faster attack speed in its base. Well, interesting.

even though max might only be 500 lower the min is 1000s higher which allows for much bigger min crits

Ye, and then use the Q7 buff and your damage rockets by 15 thousand through the roof...

Any discussion on other options basically make no sense with that beast around. It's almost a constant buff as it can be used every 8 seconds or so.

Blood Rune bow also needs draken cores, if I'm not mistaken, so that's another problem.

So back to nikatar's original question,
Just get yourself the Q7 set and build everything around that. All other options are for Drakensang gourmands who are bored and have excessive resources, so they can experiment :)
