    Disclaimer. Yes, it sounds cheesy but it is quite possible in the far future update, DSO will expand eastward; discovering new locations, regions, monsters and heroes. (All images and icon skills are merely placeholders and are taken from other games)

    Description

    Imperials are the masters of the way of the sword. Skilled both at dual-wielding or cleaving through enemies, their ferocity in combat are unmatched. Powered by neither rage nor use of shields, these agile warriors from the East sacrificed their defenses for mobility and deadly offense.

    Background

    The Imperials were once slaves to the Dragons of the East, ancestors of the Dragon Brood and Berserkers raiding Teganswall, Duria. Their masters are subjects of Balor of the Anderworld and used Andermagic to try and tear apart Dracania by merging it with Parallel Worlds.

    An Imperial Tigress, later founder of the Tiger Empire, revolted and led her people against the dragons. Thus bringing war within the Dragon Empire for six centuries, with the Imperials driving the dragons entirely out of their continent. Since then, the Imperial Tigers have ruled over the eastern empire under the leadership of their first Empress. Tradition tells she lives to this very day, using Andermagic to keep her youth and is the sole key preventing the Parallel Worlds from merging with Dracania.

    When the Heroes of Duria reconnected with the Tiger Empire, the Tiger Empress herself rallied her warriors to pursue their oppressors who fled to the west and aid the Western alliance against the invasion of the Anderworld on all continents of Dracania.

    Role

    Imperials specialize in offense and has the highest damage output among all classes. In a group, they do not assume the tank role and are best suited being the offensive vanguard. Lacking defense, their mobility allows them to evade enemies at any range and deal tremendous damage.

    Weapons of choice:
    • One Handed Long Swords
      • Katanas
    • Weapon adornment: Short swords
      • Wakizashi (enables dual wield, damage)
      • Shuriken (critical hit rate and critical damage)
    • Two Handed Heavy weapons
      • Naginata, Kanabo

    Pros
    • Highest Damage output among all classes
    • Weapon adornment is used as a weapon, therefore enabling dual wielding
    • Talents focus on recharging resource and movement perks. Including evasion chance.
    Cons
    • Lowest, if not absent block rate and block strength defenses
    • Lowest survivability among all classes
    • Lowest Health and armor values
    • Lowest armor rating and resistance values

    Resource

    Ki. Ki is to Imperials is to what Mana is to Spellweavers. Imperials start with half of their resource pool and must attack to acquire Ki. Imperials harness the natural energy found in nature and combine it with Andermagic to enhance its powers.

    Players can be creative and think of hundreds of new useful and interesting features.

    Devs can't. I mean, so far we are getting mostly crap.

    Some time ago, I made a suggestion post on DSO discord about a new big expansion which would be inspired with Japan/China.
    The class you're proposing would fit it perfectly.
    And again, I appreciate all the work you've put into this.

    as long as youre willing to die 500 times per map

    Now some feedback on the suggestion.
    It looks slightly like a ranger role, it actually is almost a ranger but with more melee attacks and less ranged ones.
    Think adrenaline, think blade dance, think trap, think deadly blow&death sweep.
    I think that parts of this idea could maybe be used for a subclass of ranger, if a subclass system ever comes.

    Belt of Zeal is an old thing. I'm pretty sure that most useful to the new class would be Panties of Zeal.

    Sounds good, BUT... if this class will have the worst hp and armor/res and it is low range class, how can they survive on infernals/solo playing?

    Updated. Prioritized damage and mobility over defenses.

    Skills:
    • Tempest damage increase from 30% > 35% damage per second.
    • Precision break is now called Cursed Seal.
    • Quick Step and Switch skill cost are reduced from -15 > -6 and -30 > -12, respectively.
    • Shadow Walk duration increased from 4,0s > 6,0s and (PVP) 2,0s > 3,0s.
    • Ninpo Bunshin is replaced with Ninpo Oni as skill 12.
    • Ninpo Yumi is removed and Ninpo Bunshin is moved to Skill 13.
    • Smokescreen radius is increased from 6,6 > 8,8.
    Talents:
    • Changes to Talent 2 (Guillotine), slot 2 (Mastery II). Added Andermagic damage perk.
    • Increased Talent 9 (Quick Step), slot 3 (Always Ready) damage from 60% > 90%.
    • Increased Talent 11 (Shadow Walk), slot 2 (Taboo Pact) duration to 8,0 seconds (PVP: 3,5 seconds).
    • Changes Talent 12 (Ninpo Oni), slot 1 perk.
    • Changes to Talent 13 (Ninpo Bunshin) slot 1 and slot 3 perks.
    • Changes to Talent 14 (Smokescreen) slot 3 perk.
    • Fixed Talent 14 (Smokescreen), slot 1 description.
    I absolutely have no idea what to do with Skill 12 (unlocked at level 35). Pending changes.

    To anyone who can't think outside the box nor can provide a detailed critique and just wail "unplayable", "Quick Step" is its most overpowered skill.

    Quick Step. It's basically its dodge skill.

    You understand that dks generate rage from being hit, that is for a reason <- dks get hit a lot, dks stand in acid a lot, dks take lightning and fire damage a lot, not because they want to in most cases but because they are so damn close to the action that they take lots of damage.
    Aaand in some cases they do take damage to generate rage, I suggest you take any ranged class and go run in the mobs and stand still, just go do it, see how many hits you can actually take.
    What it will boil down to is 1 hit and youre dead.
    So now what?
    You will say noo but add this and add that and it will end up being a semi dks with more hp more armor and more resist, which will make your wild character end up having ranger stats in armor resist and hp, but then melee bound and with ranger level stats it might actually work.
    But this rediculous joust of yours stating a melee class does not need defences more seems like a ranged player angry at melee as a whole.

    Man... I play ranger half-melee and it works.
    Eg.: Throw thicket of throns at the PW Herold, throw some EAs, adrenaline, some more EAs while running around him, some DBs when behind him, blade dance to the other side when he turns around and starts attack...

    This seems to come from someone who hasn't played any other mmorpg other than DSO. You'll be more surprised melee glass cannons are the prevalent and preferred class in any games where they exist. And I don't think you fully understand the premise of my Imperials. As mentioned in the role description, they don't function as sponges. They are not Dragonknights and don't treat them as such; contemplate why most of its support skills involve dodging and movement skills.

    Don't worry, I have a saved draft to fix skill 12 and reworks on talents.

    Updated. Added evasion chance.

    Skills
    • Devotion damage buff is reduced from 300% > 200%. Too stronk.
    • Removed Ninpo Oni's armor buff and replaced with evasion chance.
    Talents
    • Increases Talent 5 (Ninpo) and Talent 10 (Switch) perk 1 maximum distance from 12,0 meters > 14,0 meters.
    • Changed Talent 12 (Ninpo Oni) perk 1 to evasion chance.
    • Changed Talent 12 (Ninpo Oni) and Talent 13 (Ninpo Bunshin) perk 2 bonus Ki from 6 > 8 per critical hit.

    Yes well that is ranger level hp and armor which is more than mages and dwarfs, this noob wants to give them even less defensive stats than mages and dwarfs....
    This person is proposing a ballet dancer with katanas
    I guess you must be new to gaming in general. <- whats the term for that? (Maybe do yourself a favor and delve into the character noob saibot and find out where he comes from)
    Because any mmorpg revolves around 3rd person from the back view usually, they also usually involve intricate systems aaand a lot of traveling in an open world <- a looot of traveling, and sparse mobs on the way to the point of quest.
    Mmorpg usually involves a lot of questing.
    If you were to call it anything it could much rather be called an mmo arpg.
    But in this game we have isometric view and a lot of action.
    The combat system involves attacking directly and it is instantaneous, that means it is at its core a ARPG with MMO elements.
    And fyi yes I can refer you to quite a few games where the less armored less hp than tank melee is good but they do not have less hp than the glass cannon ranged players.
    Another fyi, I have 29 years gaming experience 10 of which is online

    I'm not going to spoonfeed you but it sure aint defined by camera perspective nor any of your spiel. Pulling a strawman isn't going to help your case mate. You obviously can't provide a concrete critique against my proposed class, so I suggest you halt your hilarious sass :p
