Hello mario032 and welcome to DSO EN Forums. You can sell your items to get Gold ( you need gold for crafting etc.) or melt them to get Glyphs of Power ( you need those to upgrade your equipment ). If you are just starting your journey with DSO it would be advisable to do both - sell and melt... but ultimately the choice is yours:) Enjoy and and we hope you have lots of fun!:)

    kind regards,
    Shine2

Go to any NPC that is a trader, click the option "buy&sell" (generally the first option, if it's offered), and right click the items you want to sell in your inventory area.

For melting, it has to be a smith (smith is also a trader). Choose the melt item option (the third option in the smith menu), right click the items you want to melt, and click melt.

You can also unlock the "Peddler" talent in the Wisdom talent tree, which allows you to sell items without going to any NPC, or even on maps. This shop is accesed from the Wisdom window.

Melting can be done using a portable Smelter item as well, this item is offered on events or sometimes given out in bonus codes. It allows you to melt items wherever you are and is always for limited time. It can also be bought for a limited time for clovers, but it's not worth it - clovers are too precious.
