I understand it is hard when so many are asking for so much, but it is the responsibility of the managers to prioritize. And in my opinion that is seemingly the problem at BP. The ability to prioritize and do that which must be done first. We as players are always going to have our wish lists. And any reasonable person is going to know that you guys can't fulfill everything being asked for. But what many of use do expect is that you know what should be prioritized and what needs to take a back seat.

Now I know many wanted the Desert event, I don't recall seeing anyone asking for a portable repair kit, but I know there are many forums in many languages with many people from all over the world, and I don't read every post here, so I don't doubt that it was asked for. But what's more important; the event, the repair kit, or fixing the position bug(s), as well as many other bugs people are experiencing? I mean do I actually care about a repair kit when I can't play 5v5 in PvP or can't get on the server? Or how enjoyable is an event if you have a bug that rubberbands your toon all over the map?

Maybe you should fix one (or two or three or....) before releasing the other despite the outcry from the masses. That's the real responsibility of the managers; to know what's more important regardless of what the people are crying for. If done properly it may not save you more headaches in the short run, but in the long run you find it was well worth it. And even those who cry and whine will thank you for it. As it is now, they were crying before, and now they are still crying (Just a little louder). You've accomplished nothing other than pissing off more people than you've appeased by prioritizing things in the improper order.

So much for listening to the masses. (Governments that try to govern solely by opinion polls never do well. Face it, the masses rarely know what the hell is going on anyway.) I have yet to play the game that didn't have a bug here or there, but the best games I've played, (And the one's that ended up being very profitable to the companies that put them out.) were the one's where management knew what should be done, despite public outcry, and went ahead and did what truly needed to be done.

    FYI: Repair Kit

I recall positing in a thread on the old VBulletin boards regarding a suggestion for some kind of field repair. I was a bit bored this morning so I spent a couple of hours digging thru the old VB boards to verify this and look for other threads mentioning it. Rangers in particular were having a problem with their weapons breaking in the latter Q maps. These suggestions began a few months after PW was added to the game and more players players were getting to these maps. The suggestions came up again when ghost gear came along with the WG maps. The idea was put forth as both a stand-alone feature or a new talent for the knowledge tree.

I was away from the game from the game from Feb through Aug this year so I do not know what has been posted on the new boards. (I had to manually dig thru the threads on the old boards since the login is disabled and my boredom had expired :p) I would also like to note that the EN boards are relatively small compared to some of the other boards. It's been a while but last time I checked the DE boards had about 12x active members. I think that it is reasonable to conclude that even though it was only suggested a handful of time on these boards it would have been brought up many more times on all the language boards combined.

Note: this post has nothing to do with whether I am for or against this feature ;) My point is that it was suggested by at least some players. It was prioritized low (given the time that has lapsed since the oldest reference I could find.)

    Luck be with ye,
    Mikey,

R84 brought us a New Region called Sea of Shadows. With that update soul-hunter gear was introduced.
Here on this old screen I have arrows, shield and long bow:

Those item's durability was something like 20 ... while other items had around 60. they were breaking easily and we were asking about some options to make playing enjoyable. Though if you are asking me ... best solution was durability to be increased.
But the thing is ... R84 came in December 2012 ... and 2 years later ... we have an solution for longtime nonexistent gear. :D

As far as I know En forum is covering players from the rest of the world (countries that doesn't have their language forum) ... and I believe there are huge amount of players who are not using this forum because of language barrier. Some don't speak English some are not comfortable to post opinions ... etc. It is very easy when you can express yourself in your native language ... you can post countless messages ... but in the same time ... if those players stop using this forum this forum would become "ghost forum" with handful of players.
I am coming from non English speaking country too. My point is ... you can't make an game feature based from few replies on one or two forums.

Compare loot tool is a story by itself ... I can't recall that players were asking for such a stupid tool ... here nor the old forum.
It is obvious the Dev Team wants to steal some ideas from other games ... but they are missing one point ... if we were liking those contents ... we would play those games instead of this one.

I hope you can fit the powerfull book of Shadows there somehow :p Maybe Shady John were able to steal a few from the Sargon's
weaponry xd I also hope that the invasion sage could continue. Or even better you could simply release the Attack on werian event like it used to be so the new player would have a chance to obtain those items. If someone think that it's boring to play that event again...
Well simply then just don't enter there. Nobody is going to force you play it. That's what I think atleast.
    Have a nice day

Wild Speculation & Rumor Mongering :p

I remember when we first me ole Sargon. He was the end boss for the Halloween event 2012 called "Bloody Harvest". After that he must have got an agent and went on to be the headliner in a few gigs of his own (I suspect his agent was Faust acting on orders from his boss, since like all Faustian deals it wound up with him disappearing into obscurity )

Although the word "soon" in Greg's post could mean anything (particularly to some one of my advanced years now that vague time references can mean years ) Halloween event is coming up "soon"

    Luck be with ye,
    Mikey,
    Tegan

p.s. If Sargon did manage to get out of a Faustian deal I really need to talk to him :D

I'm verifying that you are correct. That Ghost Gear was terrible. The 40% block rate was kinda cute. I went through my Hello Kitty Diary and found this. So this durability of 20/20 is obsolete.

    Hi again,

I would like to suggest the possibility of making the gems from past events available through purchasable chests. Gems such as jewel of rage, and jewel of immunity, which are no longer obtainable. Or, make them available again through another event.
Please consider this, and relay it to the dev. team.

Thanks again, and keep up the hard work!

    Purchasable - No Way
    from another event - Yes

I would like to add the old suggestion ... proposed many times before:
Make them craft-able ... we already have many of them ... and we can use only 5.

First of all thank you for your feedback guys, I'll try to address as many topics as possible.

@Nyshen : your feedback is well written and thought through *me gusta*. You are correct when you
say that we are recognizing the feedback of all 20 languages we operate in. You will always have situations where
a feature is backed by lets say, 13 out of 20 language communities and then its up for the DSO team to decide how to
prioritize it. Naturally you will not please every one with the results. The portable kit was an old idea but - promise is promise - and that's why it was eventually implemented.

Other features make it faster into the game! Why, you ask? Because the demand is high but also the feature is less complex.
Best example is the Desert of Essences event. The event will gradually change btw, as we read that you found it too easy.
The portable repair kit was by far not as highly demanded as the DoE - but it was on the "to do" list.
Normally we would not even compare a feature with an event - but this is just to explain the basic reasoning

@Multi-Sev : to quote you again - you called my performance "disappointing" and "is that the best you can do"?
Therefore, I believe , yes, you did enter the 'becoming personal' zone.
Fair enough if you want to pass messages via me to the DSO team - legitimate criticism is allowed.

    @Dylannn & @trakilaki : Well observed - I am merely the informer.
I am your connection to the team and thank you for your objective feedback.

    Invasion Events
Yes - of course it can be annoying to have to wait for the Invasion event to come back in order to complete the set.
However, we have to follow story here. Kingshill has just been rebuilt and cannot simply be attacked this quickly.
That being said - if the Invasion event comes back, I reckon its not going to be kingshill - probably a new town or Werian's Sanctuary,
    thats however a guess.

    'Political Talks'
folks, its not like Dracaty and I want to be vague. But imagine if we promise you something etc: "Yes, we will introduce a Flying Spaghetti Monster Mount with release 136" and the big day comes - and we fail to deliver...Well, you will be disappointed, now wouldn't you?
Therefore, Dracaty and I give you "heads up" for information we actually have with 100% guarantee. Its as simple as that.

The purpose of this channel is also that you get to speak to us 1-on-1, and we are welcome to everything and everyone -
provided we are all keeping it classy;)

    Spoilers
@Dylannn : as soon as i have more info - you shall here about it - but yes, Stellar Gold is high on demand.
The team liked the event, you liked the event - does anyone see a reason why we shouldn't bring it again?;)

If anyone feels like they haven't been answered yet, please state your question!
    See you soon!

My disappointment was generated by the fact that you tried to imply that I said something I did not say. The way you wrote your reply, you implied that I estimated a confirmation window fix would take two minutes: "The safety confirmation click for the Gnob teleportation window has been reported. Whether this is being prioritized and realized first - is the developers decision. Please avoid guesstimating how long and how easy such a fix is." I have no idea how long that fix would take, and I did not say that. I said that "adding a line of text" would "take about two minutes": "...there was no instruction to "right click to activate" the map portal to Gnob's cave...This would be a 2-minute programming job, right?" The safety confirmation click was mentioned later in that post, and no time estimate was given or implied for that. Therefore, yes, I asked if the "best you could do" was misread my post and reply erroneously.

I still feel that this whole incident was caused by your hasty and poor treatment of my original post, and an attempt at deflecting the poor communication and slow performance of your team onto me. However, other than this - I hope, precise - clarification of my position, which I make only because you continue to discuss it and seem to want to continue to make me out to be the "bad guy", I will not be asking any further questions or making any more posts, critical or otherwise, here. I have announced this already, and nothing has changed to make it otherwise. If you want to continue to debate whether you performed poorly with your response to my original post, fine, we can keep having that debate and I will keep responding. Or we can just agree to disagree. I'm sure you believe you responded adequately to my original post. I, however, do not think that. But if you want to continue to have this debate, I have all the time in the world.

Oh, that's easy to answer. Greg keeps assuring us that the development team is doing the very best job they possibly can, so each flawed release and the mounting pile of bugs is AS GOOD AS THEY CAN MANAGE, THEY CAN'T DO ANY BETTER! It's sad and unfortunate and all that, but all of us only have two choices -- stick with it and hope it eventually gets better, or cut our losses and find another outlet for our energies. Actually, I'm doing a bit of both -- only logging in for my Daily Quests and to see if any improvements have been made, and today I started to play Heroes Online. I'll warn you that MMHO is full of bugs, but shows some promise, just like DSO almost 3 years ago.

Hi Greg, I must admit I was pleasantly surprised with 135 Release this time. I went on m2, q6 - no lags. After that I went to farm Khalys - no lags at all. I cant believe I can play again this game without lags. I dont care what you have done to Kingshill. The most important thing is that there are no lags any more and im very happy :) Tell the DEVs that this is the way to keep the players in the game - without lags and bugs. Congratulations this time guys and keep up the good work :)
