  1. Some of you may remember me. I joined the mod team almost two years ago and then after a time I left because of my personal life getting too busy. Then I came back and drove you all crazy for about 8+ months. Then I left again for personal reasons. Well, I'm back yet again... I must hold the record for treating the Moderating Team like a revolving door.

A little about me, I've been playing DSO for about three years and I'd like to think I know it inside and out. I have experience playing all of the characters and gotten halfway decent with most of them. Also, I still enjoy playing this game a lot (or I wouldn't keep coming back) and it bugs me if I'm spending more time dealing with stupid stuff than playing the game (so please try and keep the stupid stuff to a minimum so that I can enjoy playing :p). In all seriousness, because of how much I enjoy the game, I do understand your pain when we have bugs or impossible events and I will continue (as I did in my past two stints as a moderator) being an advocate for the community and passing your wishes and desires and frustrations to those who can actually make a change.

It is good to be back, but now, don't mind me if I get back to playing.

  4. Who knows... Maybe I'll need to leave again in another 6 months and then come back for another time. Maybe then I'll come back as a BA instead of coming back as an S-Mod.

First time started as a F-Mod, left as a S-Mod.
Came back as a F-Mod, Left as an BA.
Came Back as a S-Mod, let the betting begin as to what I'll be leaving as this time. :D

I think I've set the record for the most time leaving the forum staff and coming back and no one will likely ever be able to catch up.

Interesting formula. Maybe I should use it. Maybe next time I'll return as a CEO. :D

Yes, I remember you. Do you remember me? That's the question.

Hope your personal life is sorted out and going good ;)

  8. Ah, but the problem is I keep seeming to come back one rank below where I left, so I would need to out rank the CEO to come back as the CEO... now that is an interesting problem.
I remember everyone... our useful contributors, our casual contributors, and our local trolls... Which one do you think I remember you as? :p

    Hello English team :)

can you please coordinate with BP and the other language teams so that the rules of the forum are the same and it does not come to discrepancies between forums of BP?

for example: size of Signature Image (German: 500x200, English: 468x60)

    thx :)

    @Maulwuerfchen

I will give you my answer, and our Team Leader will answer you when he is available.
Our forum rules are accurate and has been confirmed by our higher ups in many occasions.
The IT technology nowadays is advancing with tremendous speed, so the rules sometime changes accordingly to its needs. Just like the DSO's minimum system requirements changes from time to time so and the requirements for the nowadays web technologies. Widescreen monitors are in use everywhere and CRT and the old resolutions are already history. Therefore 468x60 banner-like pictures are preferable.
I can only say that the size of the signature picture on German forum is outdated because those were the old forum rules (which now are nonexistent) and since we switched to new technology and forums the rules has been changed.
    That is my personal opinion.

The weird thing is, since you are aware of the cross-forums rules and "discrepancies" between the forums, I can only assume you are "insider", right?

BTW you are of topic, lets respect the rules. Any further off topic will not lead to productive discussion, so lets keep on topic.

P.S. - Just look at my (and our team's) signature picture. It is lovely and according to the needs and the rules.

  15. They are levels of responsibility and rights on the moderator team.
F-Mod is a Forum Moderator. This is the entry level. They monitor for spam and content violations.
S-Mods are Super Forum Moderators. We train the incoming F-Mods (Been a while since we've had a new one). We also have a bit more leeway and rights to go with it.
BA is a Board Admin. Lots more permissions, lots more responsibility. They are in somewhat more direct communication with the higher ups and that is why they are the ones who usually post the OAs and feedback threads.
Only other one that you see often is Allogeneous, our TL or Team Leader. He is actually the one that sifts through all the tons of stuff on the forums and passes things up the chain... He is also the possessor of the mighty "Ban Hammer" and uses it to keep people in line.
