beginner's/nebie's question here

can anybody explain to me the ranks of ordinary, magical, extraordinary, and gold items?

Im level 15, but i cant really fine a thread for it. I dont intend to spam, and if there is a link i would be happy to read them all.

What do you basically look at in terms of item stats, is it the cost? is it the armor base/magical value? or is it the item level?

I'm not entirely sure what do you mean, so I'll just tell you stuff and then you choose what's important
So, there are;

• White = Ordinary.. you don't even need CoT for those!
• Green = Improved (common)
• Blue = Magic (uncommon)
• Purple = Extraordinary (rare)
• Orange = Legendary (very very very...you get the idea)
• Yellow = Unique (how lucky do you feel?)

You will need Crystals of truth to identify them; the higher the rarity and lvl is, the more cot you will need.

Now about this.. I don't really understand what you tried to ask, but;
White items won't give you any special enchantment, green ones will give you 1, blue 2, extraordinary 3 and legendary 4 random enchantments.. Since you're lvl 15, I would suggest using green/blue items, they will be enough for you. Later on, you'll need higher ones.
About stats, each of those will give you random stats .. keep in mind that on the right side of your equipment you can get only defensive stats (except for critical dmg in gloves), so you will want offensive stats in your left side items

you really did help me Faeriequeen22. Thanks a lot. I am sorry for not making it detailed because for one, I dont know the specifics as of yet. Two, I... am... literally... a newbie. in mmorpg and in this game.

I guess I found lots of stuff like they drop after I kill monsters, and some of the green items are better stats than my blue items that I worked on. so... i was thinking that, why is the green item's stat better than blue, now i am confused of judging items to keep/drop. Like some of the items on the right shows red number like 5, 12, or 19 but they are all Blue Items.

re-reading your post, it really contains some of the key factors i could fiddle on during the weekend. So thanks and keep the information flowing since I really need lots of them especially on comparing item stats.

You might want to read the whole guide, it could clear some basic things about Drakensang Online.

 

You can't wield items of a higher level than you, so if you're level 15 you can only use level 15 items or below. However, the lower the level, the lower the enchantments so try to get items at or near your level.

You can upgrade an item to a level above yours, though. For example: you have a level 15 item, you can use Glyphs of Power to upgrade to, say, level 20 and still be able to wear it. (because the level requirement will still be 15)

Now about those red numbers, if I understood what you're trying to say, those numbers mean that item is outdated; if you item is for example lvl 5 and you're lvl 15, that item is outdated. You can fix that by either finding a new item closer to your lvl or upgrading that old one.. I believe it's easier for you to find new item and melt old one.

where can I identify Items

 

Identification has changed now just right click on any item with the ? on it to id it.

 

What about on a Mac? I tried control-clicking, but that doesn't work.
