Gems need to to stop getting bigger

gems are just to expensive to get altogether it would cost about $100k, this is just insane how does this make any sense?

 

It makes a lot of sense if you are in the business of selling them.

 

this makes people not to even try to get that high of gems. if you had a bit smaller, people are willing to spend

 

Are you talking about combining Polished lvl gems to get something still higher? I haven't gotten to that point yet (though I was wondering about it), but I have noticed, when combining lower lvl gems, you gets robbed. Eg, combining three 3-pt armor gems gets you a 6-pt gem, not a 9-pt. I've never seen that b4 in a game.

 

Why should there be a limit. There is no reason to limit it. If people want larger why not provide them as long as they are willing to pay... New York had a time where you where not allowed to purchase a drink over 16oz. Should drakensang impose limits on your play time?

 

I think this is common in action rpgs. Diablo II did something similar.

 

Gems getting bigger is fine. The only thing what I don't like it is that the the benefit seems smaller at higher the level.
3x +5 damage gems combined gives + 10,
in this sense, 3x +10 damage gems should give a +20 and not a +15 like it is now.

 

There is a method to the madness. Your only able to have 10 attack gems so multiply each gem by 10 and you will see a trend. It very well maybe me but. 10x5 gems is 50 damage 10x10 is 100 ... 10x25 is 250. Each tier of gem adds 50 damage save the last one that give e's 60 damage. This requires you to put a lot more effort into it but the rewards are good. I am certain that there are very few people that use all attack gems damage but this is just something to look at.

 

A lot of players don't want larger gems b/c it is bad influence for balance pvp in game.
Now we have holy and royal gems. In time of beta largest was polished.
Are you talking abut it? Or about bonuses from gems like +2, +6, +9, +19, + 40 etc.?

 

if you play for a longtime and collect lots of stones and collect ander to spend on stones and sometimes you buy some stones at disccount you will see that your stones get bigger and bigger.
I dont have the biggest stones but i can see that 1 day maybe if i keep playing and collecting.
And dont forget there are players who spend large on games. And therefore the game is available.
I have got more then 3 flawless so i could join them to get a sacred. and maybe i will get 3 sacred to melt then i have the biggest stone.

 

It's simple logic...the more expensive you make something the less the players will be willing to spend RL$ on it.....unless you're Donald Trump's kid or something. Seriously though, what blue collar working is gonna spend that kinda cash on A gem?

 

Obsessed ones; especially ones helped by alcohol or other incentives.

sry guys in above 2 posts but what is a lot to some is peanuts to another. I have a playing buddy on another BP game and to spend $20K US on his game per year is no big deal to him. He will even spend big on my game if i allow him. And he is not the only 1 i know of.
Also many players are adults who grew up playing in arcades so they are use to spending $-s everyday on games so now they play at home and for them its cheap to play even if they spend a few 100 a week still cheaper then playing in an arcade. But be thankfull they are out there so that you and i can play with our peanuts this nice game

Well, now I have some perspective.

 

lol...I wasn't saying nobody would spend cash on a gem, I was merely saying people living paycheck to paycheck probably won't. I know there's exceptions to every rule. Didn't realize I had to be that specific in my above post.

 

No problem. All three views are valid. There are as many reasons as there are people doing the game. Thanks.

 

I just hope that when they release LVL 50, they make the drops of gems better in those areas. For example, only drop 2nd tier in those areas and in the PWs at LVL 50, only drop the 3rd tier. That, with better ander drops, could make the higher tier gems more attainable.

 

I agree with this.
I spend a lot of time pawning low lvl because the gem drops are the same. you get a hell of a lot more gems slamming through crypt than q1, if the gem drops got better in higher lvl's I would spend a lot less time visiting heredurs office.
