    Hi,

I am pretty new to the game and having fun. So I guess I will play the game for longer and have a short question concerning the view into playing longer. I think there will be more qeustions in the future, maybe this can become a thread for everyone to post a short question which can be answered with 1-2 sentences.
{Edit: Ok, it seems better to make new threads instead of posting all here - So this thread contains only this one question:
    }

    1. When leveling up what is better, selling all the green, blue and not needed purple stuff, and old legendaries | or ist it better to melt them already? Third option was to convert them, however I found that it requires alot of gold and very random, so that's probably lategame.

    Ola and welcome!

I would say sell green, others melt, but maybe it's good to sell blue ones too for your lvl (I'm not sure how much you can earn with them; for 45lvl I do it like this - less than 50 silver goes to melt, more goes for selling :) ), so you should decide for yourself. :D
That .. converting (combining ;) ) is, imo, not worth it until 45lvl and even then it's questionable, so I wouldn't hurry with that.

I don't sell/melt based on color but on three conditions:

I need coin - I sell everything I don't keep for my use.

I need glyphs - I melt everything I don't keep for my use.

I don't have an urgent need for either but want to build both
    - I compare the coin to the amount of melt. If the percentage of coin to glyph is low, it is melted. If it is higher, it is sold. Someone once posted their numbers which I've found to be pretty good (forgive me for not remembering who!). For an 88 glyph item, the coin needs to be over 18. For a 3-400 glyph item, I sell if it is over 40 coin. Most extraordinary I sell unless they are under 1 gold (now this is for a level 43 character so adjust accordingly).

Basically, sell if you have an immediate need for coin (travel stones, working on the cloak quest, etc.). Melt if all your items are several levels lower than you are. Balance the two if you the other conditions don't apply.

    thanks both!
I don't need anything at the moment, so it's only about what I need later at 40-45 which I unfortunately can't know yet.

@DrAGon So the ratio you posted to make a decision is about 1 coin to 5 glyph (4,88); In other words 5x as many glyphs as it costs. This confused me already, because most of my items sell for alot more already, at least 50 silver = 5000 coins (!?).
I make an example to see if I understood it.
    I.E.:
My legendary belt I want to get rid off would sell for 1.32.26 coins (1 gold 32 silver 26 bronze), but would only be melted into 1320 glyphs. Thus the ratio of coin to glyph is about 1 to 1/10. Much lower than 1 to 5. So definitely sell.
-Just checking if you're ratio isn't the other way around? Cause I mostly face 1 to 1/10 which is the other way around~

By the way: Even my green items have about 140 coins, ergo 1 silver and 40 bronze. Or did I understand you wrong?

    This is my suggestion:

    1. Check the price. If the selling price of the item is very high then sell it. (You will soon realize that some green/blue items have very high price tags compared to others. These are the ones with percentage bonuses)

    2. Otherwise melt it. Pinks, Legendaries and Unique if you don't need them, then melt them.

Hey, thanks you too @cdeepal, for the additional % bonuses tips. But that I got I think, so I asked dragonn If I understood the values and ratio correctly. @other people: see my previous post.

to much time wasting for me to check if its worth melting or selling. I fill my inventory then go to melt everything next time inventory is full i sell everything. exceptions legi items i usually melt. just my way
I can remember low level was trouble with not enough money to lvl knowledge and other things so low lvl probably need to sell more then melt

The ratio isn't perfect as the costs aren't perfect. But let's say you have a green item worth 88 glyphs. If it sells for 10 silver, melt it. If it sells for 25 silver, sell it (not quite the ratio you were listing).

If I'm looking at an extraordinary item that has 1320 glyphs and it sells for under 1 gold, it gets melted. Otherwise, I sell it.

Now I am still working on the cloak quest (you need 1000 gold for the last cloak). Once I no longer need gold for the cloak, I'll probably start melting more as gold becomes less important. If you haven't finished the cloak quest yet, I recommend you keep selling extraordinaries over a gold and melt the ones under.

I would melt anything extraordinary or better.
If you want money, just take a trip to the Crypt. You can loot about 100 greens in less than an hour and many level 8-20 greens do sell for 30-60s.

Ok thanks for the reply! By the way: You had said Coins not Silver. That's why I was confused probably so I couldn't find a comparison ingame, I referred to your post.

So I will look at it again while keeping in mind you meant Silver not coins. I like the idea of getting the most out of the items you found.
Edit: yea those values make more sense, most items I look at ingame have a lower ratio then 88 Glyph to 18 S, so 10 S as you said. While some amulets/rings have a very high 88 G to 40 S.

Thanks for the heads up with the Cloak quest!

ps: The thread was already helpful and it raised my awareness for the different glyph and sell values!

    Cheers

Haha; just checked the cloak thingy. I assume I will get the gold before I can even wear a cloak anyways...
I need 44 more days(dailies) before I will have the cloak Skill! (33000 knowledge / 750 knowledge / day)
    That's intense.

It is intense only if you keep thinking about it.
My advice is just don't think about it too much. Play as you go and keep your mind relaxed.
It is good to have goals, but don't have goals that are far too ahead.
Keep simple goals like I will get to the next knowledge level within the week or I will get +10 more base damage within the week.
And eventually you will get where you want without much stress.

    1. good thing about premium is you can choose your daily quest. Also the cloak quest you will even get the 1000 gold while you are doing the quest yes it takes that long to do the cloak of power quest. just saying
