Speallweavers torsos only level 45

Hi!

I'm someone who is aiming in the long run for 5 gems 20% armor.
We already know that our class torsos'uniques have very little armor.

Since, we can no longer access to level 1-4 items with maximum stats such as 1350 armor level 45 from a torso with tons of glyphs, we have not much of a choice now.
I wonder if anyone got a decent legendary chest armor level 45 with more than 1000 armor or not?

 

It may be possible to get a legendary torso with huge armor, but the easiest solution for huge torso armor is buy the Automated torso.

Well, I'm not so sure that item is worth the Andermant. Sure, it's the easiest way... or maybe not? By the time you hoard enough for it, you're very likely to drop a better Legendary one. My torso, while currently lv40, has the following stats at lv48 (so as to compare with the Sternum Guard's 674 armor): 511 total armor, 157 hitpoints & 150 resistance. It only has 2 gem slots open, though. Surely, lv45 Legendary torsos may be even better... so, with a bit of luck, you could get a very nice torso without having to pay 8400 Ander (or 6300 when there's a sale) for the Automated one. Bottom line: if you don't trust your luck, get the Sternum; if you're patient and a tad lucky, search for a Legendary one with your fingers crossed.

 

Other purchase option is the dark torso. At level 40 the SW version will have 415 armor (and 100 crit). For about 450K glyphs, it'll have 512 armor and 123 crit at level 45.

Don't know if you noticed, but it only took about 400K glyphs to take that automated torso from level 43 to level 48. It would not be unreasonable to farm the anders (in map 2 or the parallels) and then grab that armor on a 25% of sale; those level 43 merchant pieces glyph up really cheaply.

Does anybody know the cost of a 5th socket?

Figures. Was kind of wondering that since it glyphed like an extraordinary, maybe the sockets opened like one too...

 

I can speak from experience that sometimes using a merchant unique is an excellent choice while waiting for a good legendary. I used the DK's 2H axe with 100% damage and 300 crit. Took me forever to save up (at the time, I had only been LVL 45 for about a month), but it then served me well for over a year while I looked for a better 2H sword. Also, as Nova pointed out, because it is an "extraordinary" unique, it was significantly cheaper to upgrade. I think that sort of getting an outstanding legendary, that merchant unique will serve you well for a long time (providing you get those 5x20% armor gems).

 

Sadly "luck" cannot be purchased. Granted, I've only been playing 13 months, but luck seems to be one of the harder things to find in this game

It may very well be possible to find a leg torso with 1000 armor, but if I had that kind of luck I would playing the lotto.

There is also the rubber chicken method described by Papa to increase luck, so that may be a worthwhile option to try.

 

The Dark Heart isn't exactly a cheap option either, costing a total of 2600 Draken, but it is indeed a nice item, especially with full set.

Yeah, I forgot to look at glyphs... my torso costs about 3 million to upgrade from lv40 to lv48. Point is, he could find a better Legendary torso than the Automated Sternum Guard... with a bit of luck. Not sure if it's possible to get over 1k armor on it without anything added, though.
