My SW (lv43)

So, I just got to lv43 and have put on all the items with damage that I've gathered on the way from 42. Before, I was focused on armor a bit too much, and was lacking damage. I use an Extraordinary Master Parchment as an offhand item (yeah, gotta search for a Magus Scroll ) and the stats are without anything added (essences, buffs or pets, and so on). Maybe now I've cut too much from defense, but here I am:

Now, I know I'm far, faaar from being one of the top-notch players, so there's that. I just wanna know other people's opinions, what areas need more work; stuff like that. Thanks!

 

Man oh man first of all you will need lots of patience, and I wish you good luck with that. I assume you do not have premium, but if at all possible - get it. You will need those cubes. Since you are far from the PW, farm some lvl 40 maps. Farm Gorga. And replace every item you have with the better item you find. Baby steps and you will get better. Get the new moon set to start with.

As for the glyphs, look at Arachna, she drops 8k unique pretty often.

As for the stats - you need everything, and I would start with the speed. New moon set will give you 11%, get gloves with 10% or better, get wand with 1-2 speed attributes. While farming, you might be lucky to get Roshan items, they will help you too.

To give you an idea of a good item, - nearly perfect left side item will have (at lvl45) the following: dmg 24+, critical rate 180+, critical dmg 10%+. Right side would be 200 for resist and HP, 230 for armor. Get your HP and Armor by stats, resist by gems.

While those are hard to find, get as close as you possible can to reach those item stats. Any combo of dmg, crit, crit dmg is fine for the rings, amulet and belt. You will later balance it with the crystal, which are easier to find as they only have offensive attributes.

 

Firstly, thanks! Patience isn't a problem; I figured that it's needed in order to endure the grind parts of this game .

No, I don't have Premium, and I won't be paying for it. As a student, I can't really dump money into a game. And anyway, I wouldn't count on the cubes too much. You see, I have defensive Extraordinary/Legendary gear as well (the above stats are with Extraordinary/Legendary items with mostly damage and critical on them), so I doubt the cubes would offer too many better pieces of armor (wouldn't even hope for Lost uniques).

What made you think I'm far from PW? Actually, it's the place to go for me when I've done all storyline quests and need to level up to get more. Currently, I'm still at M1/Q1, but I only started it recently when I saw the need to do something different while I farm for XP. I've farmed Gorga and lv40 maps a lot (in fact, still looking to complete the Atlantis set; 3/5 so far) and have equipped any better gear I came across (the defensive gear I mentioned above).

About the New Moon set, it's already on my wish-list. Good thing there's one NM event coming on the 28th, maybe I'll be able to snag one or two items from the set (not sure, though... since Fairy Wood is hard to farm for, but I'll try).

Speed isn't an issue. I have the Deep Sea Calamary Staff (1.15) and some speed gems, but the wand I posted above is far more destructive, albeit at 1 attack per second.

Ah, the Roshan set... would be nice to have, and I've been wishing for it since I first saw it on the DSO Wiki, but we all know how rare those are. Still, hope dies last... I guess .

Thanks for the Arachna tip! Forgot about her since I farmed her for her unique weapon a long, long time ago (LOL, took me 3 days to get it back then ). I'll do it right now to get 16k glyphs fast, so I can get my Magus wand to lv46 (after that, I'll just be melting items I get to raise GoP, as I usually do). Also thank you for those ideas on how left-side items should be (at 43, mine are a little below that, but I guess the ones at 45 will easily get to around the values you mentioned). As for right-side, mine (the ones focused on defence) are already over the numbers you wrote, so it's good .

Here's an update, as I've been doing some balancing.

Before, I had 1.18 attack speed, 3.8k armor, 3.4k HP, 500 resistance, but 300-ish damage and way lower critical rate (was using 3/5 of the Atlantis set: weapon, orb & adornment).

 

Just to make sure you follow the numbers I wrote are for the single attributes, not the entire item. For example, your crystal should be 24dmg, 24dmg, 24 dmg, 208 crit. Total 72dmg one item. That is my current crystal. Or, I have a belt which is 24, 24, 23, 24 dmg, 95 in total. Armor boots, which I use for PVE only are 220, 230, 230, 210 armor, total 900+.

The max possible numbers, however are bigger. Max dmg at level 45 is 30. I have only few items with 28 though.

There are also few must have uniques, but guess this is for later. The Book of Shadows is a masterpiece of the books, major uses are for boss farming. The Staff of Lighting Strike is a masterpiece too, but it costs 3000 gold and is obtainable through premium only. Dragan cloak is also on that list thanks to 5% od speed. I recommend you to study the wikia about all possible uniques. article called Spellweaver's Unique Items or so.

Since you are Free2Play, guess you don't have lots of ander. The best investment for you would be expansion of the backpack. Save to get 3 rows pack. You need all the slots. The other good thing is the Universal Map, will make your life at Arachna easier and save lots of time.

 

Yeah, got it. Would be nice to hit big numbers like that on multiple lines.

About uniques, don't worry. I've viewed the Wiki more than enough. The Book of Shadows is indeed a great offensive offhand, but it also has a 15% less HP line... not really into the negative enchantments of Sargon's Shadow Weaponry. Bet I can find a good enough Mystic Scroll when I'll be lv45, and a Magus one until then. The Royal Staff of the Lightning Strike is indeed the best 2-handed unique SW weapon, but at 3k gold and Premium-exclusive... I think I'll pass. With luck, a Legendary 2H could be heaps better, albeit not augmenting the Lightning Strike skill. As for Dragan's cape... still have a little Ancient Knowledge to amass before I can use cloaks, so... yeah.

Yes, completely F2P. And have purchased a 3-row expansion already. If I feel the need, I'll save up for another one. So far, it's enough. But about the Universal Map, hmm, not sure if I'd spend almost 4k Ander on it... I can manage without it fairly well. Anyway, I don't actively farm bosses like Arachna anymore at my level... and those like Gorga Normal/Hard, Sigri Hard, Herald Hard don't require the map. Maybe M'Edusa... but given that the others exist, there's no reason to focus on her, except for, maybe, that amulet unique (still not important enough to require active farming).

 

The HP loss with a book does not matter if you are not going to be hit. Anyway, looks like you have a plan good luck and keep us posted
