I have started this game 2 days ago and bought a 8.500 cash pack. Went to buy a horse and noticed you need a Mount Talent to be able to even buy a mount so you can ride it. I then looked for this talent and noticed it requires me to pay 22.000 wisdom points in order to unlock it, a total of 41.713 cash.............. That is WAAAAAY too much ffs... so the only option apart from buying even more cash just to ride a horse is farming it from monsters, playing PVP and finishsing challenges. Farming sucks. You get like 4 wisdom points when you're lucky... PVPing in the arena also doesn't seem to work as it's always empty (at least when I go check) and I imgine even if it wasn't i'd get killed in a second by any higher level player. So winning a combat to finish PVP challenges seem too difficult.

So my question is... is there even a way to get this talent that doesn't involve empting my wallet? I heard a lot of people talking about this game being the most Pay to Win (or Pay to do Anything at all) in the history of humanity, but I also saw a lot of people saying that all you need is a bit of patience and you can do as well as paying players while being a free player but now that I have actually seen it, doesn't feel right at all.

Am I doing something wrong or missing something? Because I'm even worried They'll try charging me a stupid "horse license" after buying the Mount Talent just to milk me more and I don't wanna believe this is just a pay to... whatever. I actually loved this game. Enough to make me buy cash in the second day of gameplay. So, again... am I doing something wrong? Does the pace of the game chances with time or is that it? You simply have to throw your money on the screen to be able to do anything usefull?

Thanks and sorry if I have offended any veteran/paying players.

Most do not pay anything for a mount.

You should choose daily quests that give you wisdom, preferably the kill # players or monsters for wisdom quests, and then do 5v5 if its the kill players in pvp so you get credit for your teammates kills. And you could get your mounts through event rewards. After some daily diligence, you should have a mount without spending cash.

I see. Thank you. I'll try doing that then. I didn't know I had to choose one of the 3 daily challenges. I thought The other 2 I didn't choose were open for me to finish them.

Easiest option imho is the kill 300 monsters of your level option; 2nd easiest is the kill 45 if you are decent at pvp.

I'm not sure what the other wisdom quests are like.

If you have premium you can reshuffle the daily quests infinitely, so if thays the case then just reshuffle until you get your preferred daily quest.

The wisdom quests are all "Kill 100," "Defeat 15 PvP," and "Craft 1." Also, as long as you are below LVL 30 PvP, you will always have one option for the Ancient Knowledge.

Well, it seems like I'll have to do the challenges every single day for the next 120 days in order to unlock Mount :<

Yep, unless you start a second character an leapfrog your Mentor Bonus. Put simply, if you have more than one character, the one with the most amount of Knowledge or PvP Honor becomes the "Mentor" to the other characters and those other characters get triple the amount of books/PvP Honor. If you leapfrog, you earn 250 on character 1, then log into character 2 and earn 750. Then on day 2, your character 1 will have the mentor bonus because he only has 250 and character 2 has 750. After he earns 750, he will have 1000 total, making him the mentor for character 2 again. You repeat this again and again, and it only takes you a third of the time to level up your knowledge tree.

you can even do it faster, once you do a daily for the character that gets the bonus, switch to the other character and he will have the bonus then too. But you can only do this after the first day of doing dailies. so it is 1500 books every 2 days.

there is also a daily quest for knowledge which is, do 2 quests. So if you have 2 quests done keep them until you get that daily quest. Also if you have 12 travel fragments for Thebo hand them in on the day you have that daily quest, do 2 quests
with premium you can reshuffle the daily quests until you get the daily quest for knowledge which is easiest for you.
If you play it right you can have a daily quest giving you knowlegde everyday.
Before you reach the knowlegde to ride a mount there will be an event where you can win a mount or for sure you will have 10 gold to buy the cheapo mount

... also ... when you have a mentor bonus one book from drop (monsters, chests) is counting x3.

lvl 6, defeat 15 PVP lol. Seems I won't be finishing today's quest. Or can I do something like, logging into 2 accounts so they can fight each other? And would that be cheating?

You can't do that. Even if you could, yes, it would be cheating. Unless you have Ander to spare for a refresh and MAYBE get a non-PvP daily mission... all you can do is skip today. I did that too when I was a low-level because I just couldn't PvP... yeah, it will take you longer to advance up the tree, but you'll get there. Eventually (I'm lv44 and halfway through lv28 Fame). Tip for 15 PvP: it counts even if you lose, but then your opponent dies (for example, if a SW is killed, but the opponent is then killed by, say, Singularity or Guardian... or a burn from Fireball, etc.). Another tip: go to 3v3, 5v5 or 6v6... it's way faster than 1v1 for this type of daily quest.

Go 5v5 or 6v6. Your teammates kills also count.

I received 750 for all of my 42 days of doing knowledge quests. I got mentor the very first day. I only got 1 knowledge for each player 1 time.

Create a toon play til the receive 1 book of wisdom as drop from a mob. Create toon number 2 play til you get 2 drops of wisdome. When you have 0 wisdome you do not get the mentor on the first drop but you do on the 2nd. You keep mentor bonus til you map cycle so port to city and then login to the first toon proceeded to level 8 and zone into a new map. If you have gotten more wisdome than your toon number 2; proceed to get your chest and log into toon number 2. Now achieve level 8 and port to city. Look for the mentor icon if you have it the do your dailies if you do not log into toon 1... Rest is simple...

Funny thing is that, in fact, you couldn't buy Ancient Knowledge before... therefore, most people out there have got their tree filled by daily quests, drops and mentor bonuses.

And when new levels come out from the content release, the P2P PvP'ers will buy it outright to have a 5%-20% HP and damage bonus over their competition depending on how many new skills are released. I still think the knowledge for andermant was one of the worst decisions the Developers have made in a long time. That was one of the few things that had to truly be earned. I for one will be earning my knowledge... the way it should be. Guess that means no PvP for a month or so while I earn it to put me back onto even footing with the P2Ps.

True. It was fine as it was, albeit slow unless one had the mentor bonus, but making it available for purchase was a blatantly money-grabbing move that only favors the (heavy) payers. But as long as it inflates BP's pockets... they consider it a very good move.
