What is your current shield like?

I played around with the numbers, and warlord + 2-2 or 1-3 shield might be the best option if you can glyph up the shield to about 3000 base block rate (level 51, maybe) and the warlord set pauldrons to level 55... it seems like with a perfect 1-3 shield and fully glyphed up warlord pauldrons could get you closest to 80% and 80% and you would not even need the block talent, giving you 10 knowledge points for something else.

I have Tayaz Sun Shield and Carapace Shield (from Treasures of the Deep, i have the full set that probably now is useless due to critical hit nerf). I played a little bit with 2H just for testing but i didn't liked it, im alredy used to play with 1H Weapon!

Yes, it is the Warlord set.
The ironic thing is that if you use the warlord set, your block will be identical to mine... sure you will have more rate, but any more than 80% is still 80%.
You would need a total of +3 bock chance to get 80% reduction... and good luck getting that. With .6 being the max line and .6 being the total of what you can get from the warlord set, you would need a shield with full perfect +0.6's to get 80% reduction, but at the expense of your rate being below 80%. The best you could reasonably hope for is about 75% from 3x0.5 reduction lines paired with warlord for a total of 4.1 (75.61 reduction) with a 50%+ rate line to get you past the 80% rate mark.

I based it on the max being +0.65, though I might be wrong. I remember writing out the math based on the constants we had in the crit thread and I remember it coming to 80% block and 78% reduce with warlord and 65%/195% shield if glyphing the pauldrons and shield up to about 51~53 to get it up there for 80% block rate at level 50.

Exo Shield with +120 damage. Is this worth keeping?

Interesting! That would be fun to play with with the 50% damage from the skill and then another 50% from the 25 points... that would be >240 damage in a 1h build. Pair that with the Ess set or the Witch set and you'd see even crazier numbers. This could be used to get a 1h build up to 1k easily if not 1.2-1.4 1h with some ok defense and rather high speed (compared to a 2h with comparable damage).

Its possible to get over 1K average w/ 1H and shield even without 50% skill if you have a good weapon without sacrificing too much survivability. I'm using a level 48 red ess set (one of the sets that did not get nerfed with R155) w/ level 45 sargon helmet and level 45 wolf shield (thanks, block bug), 1H level 46 sword 51.4% weapon damage and 17.7% speed. No gems above flawless (mostly flawless, a few radiants, 4 jewels of rage and 1 solstice star), 1 level ?47? ring of death. I have a set of 2x crit/2x dam ring and claw, a belt that has some dam, crit and armor, and the seal of death, and gloom cloak. 21 points in 2% increased damage and 10 points into 2% HP, and my average base damage is about 1.1k, and I went with rage swing + bleeding as my base attack.

I am still dying (thanks to the loss of two 10% heal and stunbreak skills) but since my build was mostly damage + attack speed heal-dps DK, my DK is not experiencing the issues others that had a crit/ crit dam build are having, and I'm actually using my holiday bag and amulet of insight +5% exp gem on most maps to level up faster.

Yes, I'm thinking the same too. I'll try to combine it with red ess set. But for now I'd stick with Sargon set for awhile until they fix the defense bug. I really need those 10k+ hp and andermagic resistance.. while most of mobs from R155 seems to have small hp that I can still kill them in just 2-3 hits with my 1200 base damage (and 40% crit chance).

Just found a shield with 4 slots and 131 damage... gives a whole new meaning to a "Battle Shield."

I'll hold on to it... don't know if I'll use it, but it is to interesting to trash for now. Would indeed be fun to try with the red ess set.

I thought the quest cloaks still had equipment level 40, so you'll still need to level up. Iirc, only the warlord series of cloaks and the mount bonus cloak scaled to your level.

With R155, Cloaks became available for all levels. As you can see in the picture, I already have #2 Cloak of Insight ;)

Anybody know if the cloaks now drop at level 41+ if you complete them at higher levels? Would be nice if my level 47 dk got the final cloak at level 47 or higher....

If so, I'd like for BP to reset my 1k gold cloak quest and I'd do it again... would be faster than farming the glyphs to get it to LVL 50... and less expensive.

Now time for a before and after pic. Hit LVL 50 earlier and finally was able to craft my LVL 50 Warlord set.

There is a loss of 10% crit damage and 0.02 attack speed because I changed out some of the head gems. I figure that if they've nerfed crit, I'd do better to improve my HP and HP regen by replacing 2x Jewel of Rage for a Solstice Star and Onyx Skull. The other stats are are all marginal improvements. Gained 0.94% damage reduction from armor, 2.03% chance of block, 118HP, 6 Rage, and 0.33% damage reduction from resistance (and the hidden +7.5 HP Regen/s).

With the crazy cost to upgrade LVL 50 items, all the melt I got back from the 48 and 47 (and the unleveled cape), and I still wouldn't have been able to level up any of my new items... Cost me 1M on top of the items I melted to level up the shoulders to 51.

    EDIT:
Now for a game of "Which would you pick?"
In the waning hours of the mini event, I got the last piece. I was incredibly luck and got all 4 parts from only 5 chests. So what do I do? I try it on and think about if the stats are worth it?

Because of the set bonus, I'd only lose 25 armor. The 0.05 speed is nothing significant either. I'd gain 88 resist because of that 5% bonus... not bad. The biggest loss is the HP. Without the 2 piece set bonus from Keens, I'd lose about 500, plus the difference in HP between the items. Once I'd move the gems over, I'd have a net loss of 702 HP. :( I'm also not too keen about the loss of 832 crit either, but I think I can live with it given that crit sucks now anyway.
The place this set shines is the total damage. I have 120 damage in gems. Paired with the 60% on the sword, the 50% from the damage knowledge talent, and the 30% from the warlord set, that is actually 288 damage. Count the 46% damage from the knowledge points that apply to the damage over all and the 10% that applies to all damage as part of the set bonus, the final damage would be a total of 449 more damage for the 120 damage worth of rubies. The final damage would be 2382-2975... almost breaking that 3K barrier.

I wouldn't melt the existing set items, even to apply the glyphs to the new stuff. I may want them back if I ever get a truly good 2H sword.

So, the final question, would you be willing to lose 700 HP and 830 crit for a gain of 449 damage.

new stats with new hammer, tell me if there are problem on translation, no critc becase nerfed but i can put sargon's claw or a belt with 600 crit, i have legis boots and gloves with 1000 hp or 1000 armor and the weapon adornment just has 2 slot so i can also have more dmg, crit or speed. stat just for dmg, 22 talent point on dmg, 10 on 2h talent . unfortunatly i miss dragan cloack and i can't use that set which is very good for 30% on 2h just in 3 pieces[IMG][IMG]

My guess, you have died a million times since level update.
I really hope you have a different build to run Lor'Tac maps, one with some attack speed and a hell lot more HP.
Ranged classes are dying with defensive stats a lot more than this, and a DK running around with such squishy build is unimaginable

yes i have, that's just for dmg but actually lor'tac is very easy because even if monsters do a lot of dmg they have very few life and just with jump i can kill a good area of them  in m2 or ammon's map instead it's harder because mobs have a lot of hp but we have some good reg and more dmg you have more hp you recover :D (to go faster sometimes i put 1h and shield with 1600-1800 dmg 1,78 speed and 9k-10k life)

I got this beauty today and it replaced my old red ess torso.

All in all, I lose 318 HP, gain 189 armor (217 once you count the 15% for Black Warlord), and best of all, gained 82/103 min/max damage. Would have been happier if the 190 armor line were closer to the 304 or if it were a nice HP line, but for that damage gain, I can not complain. It came with 3 slots so I needed to open two, but the 6400 ander was worth it!
