I searched the forum but I couldn't find an answer to this question.

How do you search for a person whose name contains a special or international character?
How do you even send a wisper to such a person if he is not in the search window?

I use Ctrl+click on the name in the chat window... and add them to friend list. XD

Of course when whispering, either the person has to be already on my friend list, or I'm just typing replies so I just use /r and skip having to write their name, or I click their name in the chat box and just have it generate the whisper thing, or ... I don't talk to them. XD

    You can not.
You can only add them when you are in a group together or on the same guild.
If you find him in a urban area, you can click his name over his character and "add as a friend".
If he s chatting on local chat and you can't see him in the town area, you can click on the name in chat and add him.

But, there is no possibility of searching such name unless you have that specific keyboard add on installed on your system.

A lot of people use special characters in their name. Unique names can make the favorite name special, better being Jim #103547.
It cuts down spam chatter and unwanted group requests. Privacy is important too.

How do you use special characters??? I've searched and searched. There is nothing on what characters can and cannot be used. The only thing searches find is "don't use offensive names".

That has nothing to do with trying to make a name such as "Goober Dippintush". Of which, variations like "GooberDippintush", "Goober_Dippintush", "Goober.Dippintush", or "Goober'Dippintush" would work. More to the point, "Gooberdippintush" does not work, which is what happened to my first character. It's a run on name, just like a run on sentence, which the posting guidelines CLEARLY says you should not do if you are smart enough to know what a run on sentence is.
