Chat censor is stupid

Language is messaging, both facts and attitude. Posts focus attention on messages, and the effect of the message can not be known before it is read.
Most people judge the writer by the content. If content is poorly written, crude, vulgar, full of grammar and spelling errors, then so must be the writer, and both are discredited.
Convention has rational people talking in rational ways, avoiding unnecessary diversions like harassment, shock talk, and vulgarities. There are places conversations should not go, and garbage gives an opportunity cost to things of greater value.
Considering that some players are under-age, that censorship is reasonable. If X-rated is desired, personal choice and some personal programming can make it happen.
So, why take abuse from some bozo in a forum? This is America, and every honey-dipper has the right to stand up, and make a fool of himself in public! Just like we have the right to refute him, or ignore him.

It might be an idea to apply the chat sense to character names as some gamers have names that are offensive, however, instead of banning such players, give them the option to change their name. It would be unfair if lvl 50 characters had their accounts banned.

 

You can always report those names to support. I've seen some really nasty ones before and I put them in my ignore list and then report them. Then I watch my ignore list and laugh at what support renames their character to.

 

Use of language should be a free. No restrictions etc. I mean let people express themsleves as they want too! In the end how someone will express himself with words describes him/her self and none else.
But i understand that there are too many mentally weak people who get offended by words, which is hillarious itsself. Like, EDIT !!! and guess whats happening in reality? your mother still cooks in the kitchen and she knows nothing about this chat and even if she knew it would still be hillarious to get offended by it. Would make good comedy.
But as i said, i understand !! I know the world we live in ! So, saddly i understand the restrictions.

 

I too am amused by the immature, poor excuses for humanity too, but the issue is that kids play this game. We have a responsibility to make this game friendly to all the age groups that play.
