Test Server

In my opinion this is not Test Server. In Test Server everybody should get at least char lvl 45 and a lot of anders and gold. Why? Well...because this is TS isn't it? Just wanted to say that. Have a good day!

 

Nope. It would defeat the purpose if everyone got handed a high level character with lots of gold and ander. Not every release has to do with end game, so you need players of every level to test.

Most importantly DSO doesn't really all use the information provided to them anyway. Players report bugs and they get released anyway. Players suggest what they like or don't like, and that for the most part is ignored.

In it's current format, the TS is more about personal testing than it is useful to the community as a whole.

 

why is it a test server then? Its stupid, some people get free stuff and show off about it on youtube while the rest of us are given barely any benefits, its the test server and everyone should be treated the same. And yes the DSO managers are a bunch of ignorant fools they only want the money and time of timeless people... but still the test server is no different from the normal server except it is 1 release ahead most of the time... I want to test the full darkness set but how can I do that if I have to farm 30+ events on the test server to do so!!!

 

It is to test new features and releases, it is supposed to be a community test, not a personal one.

Active testers usually get some bonuses to test features. As to why some others get extra on top of that, you'll have to ask Haruki or one of the mods.

The darkness set is not a new feature, just because you want to test it doesn't make that a need for the community.

Now if you can make a good argument as to why your test character getting a complete dark set benefits the entire playing community, then you should present those facts to the mods and maybe they'll agree with you.

In the meantime, the test server is for:

The community needs to know what bugs are affecting the game.
They need to know what new features work as intended and which ones don't.
They need to know if maps load properly.
They need to know if monsters are acting as intended.

In order to do that, testers need to be of all levels just like in the live game. If every single tester was an end game player with top gear it would not serve the purpose of a "test" server.

 

by the dark set I was on about I meant, because people want to test different things so why not give them 50k drakens 500k anders just to be fair to them because it is a test server, and every other game with a test server they give them unlimited stuff

 

For sake of argument let's say that they gave you 50K in draken, 500K in ander and whatever else you want.

Now you have this nice strong character.

Then DSO updates Crypt like they did a while back. Are you going to waste your time testing that map? How about any regular map?

Of course you won't.

You'll be farming the parallel maps and doing pvp instead of finding out the important aspects the rest of the community needs to know.

I think there should be time period where you can test stuff but it resets back to what it was before the time period of testing on test server. This would solve many of both points of view.

When there are different releases on LS and TS, the newer release form the TS needs a new batch of downloaded files in the DSOClient folder and it usually screws up the game for the LS. If their brains somehow come up with the solution to make 2 different folders for the LS and TS... Damn! I just got distracted an lost my idea . I'll just leave it like this ...
Anyway I don't think it's that hard to link it to the client as another server choice... but why ask for more bugs when the list keeps getting bigger and bigger?

I played/tested on TS for several years ... To make things perfectly clear as to how the ADMINS/DEVS feel about us they would create guilds named things like YOUGETNOTHING! ALL4USNONE4U! etc etc. For Christs sake they wont even let us redeem current, active codes... you really think they will just break down and go "OK, this person made a good argument, we'll give what ever he wants???? If you do, then you must believe in the tooth fairy, Santa clause and the flippin Easter bunny!

Time to face REALITY .... You get to "be" on test server.... thats what you get. Got it?? You understand now how the world of DSO and the Test Server work?? I hope so. Because sittin here tryin to convince people, that dont even see these posts, that you "deserve" something more is a complete wast of time!


oh, dont think me a hater... I'm just a bit more experienced at this. Believe it or not.... There have been many posts ... JUST LIKE THIS!, over the years. A couple of them even came from yours truly.. All have met with the exact same result... Nothing, Nada, Zip, Zero, Zilch, Bubkis, Diddly Freakin' Squat!!! The MODS try their best to convince the powers that be that it wouldnt hurt to give a lil sumthin, sumthin... but even their cries fall on deaf ears.

Personally... I think they should close Test Server ... Let the Admins and Devs have their private little play ground ...
