I have contacted support and was told to look here for answers and to get this fixed.

Steps I have taken or do already:

I clear out my cache and cookies once a week or more if I browse a lot on the internet.

I have my system set up to defrag daily.

I have cleared out the folder of DSO. These issues still exist.

My java is updated as soon as there is an update.

Computer systems are auto updated when there is an update.

These issues started from the last patch. I get the brown loading screen on my level 50 and 47 characters, but not on my low level toons. It's not as bad as it was with Dragan Event, but it's still 3-10 seconds before I can see anything. Long enough to get me killed in those zones where mobs are close to the door. The lag is also horrible too. Sometimes, I'm using turrets abilities, and the power is on cooldown, but it's not showing up on screen or working.

Support told me to do a speed test, so I have running the game, forums and razer comms (and e-mail in the background which is not usually running during gaming time). The results are:

    Ping: 30 MS
    Download speed: 5.96 Mbps
    Upload speed: 0.78 Mbps

If there something else I need to do, please let me know. Thank you.

Those speeds are pretty slow in my opinion. I will check mine, but I believe my pings are in the low teens and my download/upload speeds are in the double or triple digits.

    Hey there @sonorac12 ,

If it is taking a lot of time to (re)load any map, you should contact our customer service, as it was announced in our lovely official announcement. Do not forget to provide Dx Diag (logfiles) - this is urgent to help you out! They will tell you how to do it ;)

Did you try to play on browser? What's the result?

If you have the opportunity, please, do our ping test following this link and please post your results ;)

I have contacted your support and they sent me to here. So the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing and vice versa.

I use the ThinClient to play. I have never used the browser to play since I have the client. If there is a difference as to why I should know or play both, then this is news to me. What is the difference in the browser verses the Client?

    The pingtest results:

    pinging pingnuev max:648 min:219 avg:271 dev:41 ms
    pinging pingashv max:708 min:147 avg:270 dev:140 ms
    pinging pinglaxv max:277 min:63 avg:87 dev:10 ms
    download speed: dlashv... speed:568 kb/sec
    download speed: dllaxv... speed:715 kb/sec
    download speed: dlnuev... speed:414 kb/sec

  5. No. Support sent you to post #18 of the Tech FAQ because you didn't know how to ping a DSO server. And you still haven't.

    Hey there @sonorac12 ,

As my colleague @Allogeneous told, provide game server ping, by clicking HERE. Anyhow, I would say the problem is from your connection, once it is recommended to have a ping like: dev <30 and avg all down 200-250. We can conclude that your internet connection is not stable.

To confirm, click above to the link to check your particular server. Perhaps it was a hiccup .

    Anything else, write ;)

Perhaps some of this is my connection. As I have informed the support, I am not the only one suffering from the brown screen or lag spikes. Just probably the only one to inform support in hopes that this would get fixed. A lot of my guildmates and friends have complained about this and refuse to send in tickets knowing the outcome from previous experiences. So, it makes it harder for those of us who do report a problem to get it resolved since it's only 1 ticket compared to what it should be.

I've done the ping test, this time I sat in front of it the entire time. It said it was submitted. I don't see anywhere else to click to make sure it was submitted or not or where to put my info. So I'll post these result again:

    pinging pingnuev max:818 min:438 avg:634 dev:123 ms
    pinging pingashv max:929 min:492 avg:552 dev:75 ms
    pinging pinglaxv max:936 min:78 avg:335 dev:171 ms
    download speed: dlashv... speed:121 kb/sec
    download speed: dllaxv... speed:174 kb/sec
    download speed: dlnuev... speed:134 kb/sec

    Hey there @sonorac12 ,

We understand your situation and we are trying to help you
    .
As my colleague demanded already via Support, provide us now
game server ping. It seems to be from your connection, but let's confirm that. For that, follow the steps down below:

    Game servers ping
To test your ping to game servers, you can open your Command Prompt:

Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt

    Then enter your server address:

    • ping heredur.drakensang.com
    • ping grimmag.drakensang.com
    • ping werian.drakensang.com
    • ping agathon.drakensang.com
    • ping tegan.drakensang.com
    • ping balor.drakensang.com

Have you tried to restart you router/internet system? In some cases it solves the problem :D

Thank you for your support ;)

I have Windows 10 and I'm still learning how to use it. They've changed a lot of things on here, such as no Programs and accessories, etc. And where do I find my server address?

And I'm trying to understand what is I'm doing, lol. Not trying to be a pain. I'm just not as savvy with all this lingo and computers.

    Hi there sonorac12

Click the "search" icon (magnifying glass) in the bottom left hand corner and type "cmd"
press enter or select the Command Prompt from the search list

A small Black window will pop up ... inside the box type : ping (your server name).drakensang.com
    press "Enter".

You should get something like this

PS - your server name means the server you are playing at ... i.e. Heredur ... Grimmag... Werian ... etc
    Don't use capital letters.

OK, I got this done. Now trying to figure out how to take a screenshot of it. Even took a picture of it with my phone, but can't find it with how this system is set up since I don't know the exact link of it (I'm used to opening folders and finding the link(s) this way).

Ok, I've tried different ideas and they are not working on how to post it in here. I'm used to being to click on My Computer, folders, etc to find what I'm looking for instead of knowing the direct path. Please help! Head is about to explode from all this massive thinking...

    Hey there @sonorac12 ,

Upload your picture (there are free sites where you can do it - just google it: upload photos online) and then copy direct link. Then:

    upload_2016-8-7_17-53-37.png
    And paste the link.

    Cheers,

Ok, glad that worked. Let's try this one. Again, taken with my phone, emailed to myself and uploaded but a larger picture of it.

Your ping is fast! Mine takes around 167ms the last time I pinged (which was yesterday).

    Hey there @sonorac12 ,

Now, just send that to our Support Team (answering to the last ticket opened). You can send them that link that you post here (last one - that it is perfect ;) ).

Apparently there is no problem with DSO Server ping.

Perhaps they will ask you for Dx Logfiles. Follow to the support ;)

I still don't understand the lingo, ping, Mbps, etc. lol. Someone did explain it to me and they lost me. Ok, I'll send this to support. Thank you all for the help. Don't know why I'm still getting brown screens and lag spikes as well as others.

I also suffer from this problem since 3 weeks ago, was looking for someone who would report the same thing since I found this today.. when I enter map, go pvp it takes time to load the map.. my screen is gray, black, blue depends where I am going. when in pve if hitting mob I am not delayed, but when it comes to looting things it also takes time before it goes to my inventory after I clicked it. when removing gems on items and putting it, combining is also delayed. conducted ping test and this is the result.. request timed out occurs sometime in between 1min-3min. sometimes even often. please do help cause we love to play dso. I don't think it is at your end ... which means you can't do anything about.
Anyway ... try all the standard procedures (look in the tech guide)
