Second singularity and destruction

    Hi,

    I do not know if i had posted in the wrong thread but i do hope i am not. =)

    I am a SW and i had these problem whenever i use mind control skills, my 2nd singularity will not appear instead my 1st singularity disappear. And for my 2nd destruction it appears but with "0" dmg. However in my skill slot bar it shows skill activated with cooling down for my 2nd singularity and destruction ever since r174.

    I am aware that this is a known issue since last time and it occurs to me occasionally. But since r174 it occurs to me like 80% frequently now.

    I suppose it is due to lag as i read past forum threads. However i can't explain to myself why past i do not face such problems so much like i do now for r174?

    I am a Mac User with system minimum requirements met.

    Hope my feedback to DSO Team can help other Players like me facing such problems and resolved this issues. It is a waste of essence for us as well as the impact and difference in fighting monster is huge.

    Am I the only one who never experienced this despite using the 5-point MC talent? Or maybe I just haven't paid close attention... hmm.

    You are just not using it 'properly' :) to reproduce it.

    You need 5 points on both singularity and mind control.

    For the destruction try the following at enough attack speed:
    MC - Singu - Destruction - Destruction. The second will be with no dmg. Ther skills dont work in that order too. In 100% cases.

    For the singularities, try the following:
    MC - Singu - Singu (both work)
    Reset MC cooldown using singu 5 points talent (this is important)
    Do another MC - Singu - Singu as soon as cooldown is reset. (Both disappear).

    I hate it so much because this is the way I want to use it...

    So this is why. You're right. I only use it to erase cooldown time once on skills, so I can double a grand attack, a Singu or Guardian, if really needed. What you said seems way too complicated for me xD. MC - 2x Destruction works for me (will keep eyes on numbers for the second one to see if it happens even with no Singu in-before, though I'm pretty sure I've been hitting with both). As for the second thing... do they still disappear if you wait for the cooldown as opposed to using Singu for it? Hmm, Singu seems to be the rotten element in here... but I only use it offensively, so that's why I've never reproduced these. Can see why it'd be annoying indeed, after such a carefully planned scheme would fail.

    Yes, like you said
    MC - Destruction-Destruction works.
    MC - Singu - Destro - Destro does not.

    On the #2, waiting for the cooldown makes it work.

    But even though not everyone is using it or bigpoint claims it minor, those are (would be) my primary usecases, and they are critical to me.
    Essentially I do 3 things constantly in the game excluding events and some other minor things.
    1. Q1 full run on fatal
    2. Q3M1 3 champs
    3. Boss fights.

    In #1, I want to use double singu when in that q1m1 mob circle, to place it where the tank is, and also where I am to reset the cooldown. The bug makes it useless.

    On #2, I want to use singu-double destruction on every champion mob. Bug makes it useless.

    On #3, I want to use MC-Singu-Meteor-Meteor - bug makes it useless.

    As you see, those bugs prevent me from playing the way I want and should be able to. And they are at least 1 year old bugs, and the BP insists it is minor, and is fixing tooltips instead.

    A lot of sw skills are bugged. Sometimes I find that a destruction randomly doesn't hit even when not using that combo. Also when I place singularity on rocks or edges of maps, it doesn't appear but the cooldown gets activated anyway. Frozen sphere sometimes stops short when attacking up stairs. At first I thought this might be intended, but sometimes I would attack twice in a row without moving and the first would be bugged while the second would hit normally, so I'm convinced it's a bug now.

    This is so annoying and frequent especially in Q1 map 2, but I'm sure all these have been reported already. It's the fixes that never come...

    I have done some very intensive testing yesterday, and I can tell you that every sinle skill with cooldown is impacted, and the issue is not that specific skill, but the Mind Control and the way the client and the server work.

    So, with MC, we have 1 second to do whatever we want without cooldown, such as placing 2 singularities.

    The issue is, with not 'enough' speed, the server WILL NOT place the second singularity, but the client will. So the user will see twox and he will see his cooldown decreasing fast if staying in the second placed singularity, but this is just a fiction.

    With speed 1.48, for example, the client will do two singus, but the server wont. Also, the second singu will not do the armor break, despite thr client showing it does. At 1.77 or so, it will work like a charm on both client and server.

    Also, the combo you are using doesnt matter, its just about time and misalignment between the client and the server. For instance, you can do
    MC-Teleport-Teleport-Singu - that singu will appear, but will actually do nothing, despite client showing it does.

    Since DSO is a latency compencation game with predictive client, the issue is that either client or the server acts inappropriately. Either client 'predicts' wrong, or the server does not what it should.

    This is some serious design issue, and gods know what else it might be causing.

    I would appreciate then mods passing this info to the dev team.

    This seems very likely. Even destruction doing 0 damage which happens to me a lot can be explained by this (not enough mana when i use mana recharge skill + destruction in quick succession). This also explains why devs have known about this problem for years and are not fixing it. It's not some simple bug they have to look into; they need to rework the way the game operates entirely (which they probably concluded isn't worth the effort).

    Its not a simple bug, perhaps, but it shouldnt be uber complicated. The server model operates differently from client/ui model. Most likely, as a speculation

    - client will do an action, or start a skill, if skill is started within that 1 second period
    - server will only do an action, if a skill started and ended in that period.

    There is one more bug with destruction, but I didnt intensively test it yet.

    Sometime, you see destruction doing no crit at all, when you hit 15 mobs. While its possible with low crit, but it is very unlikely with my crit (80%)

    My guess is that if the first mob hit is a crit, then its works properly and you will get some mob hits with crit and some without. But if the first mob it hits is no crit, then all the other mobs will be no crit.

    And there is one more bug. Worst bug ever, and I will be recording it next week. My machine is too slow to record everything, but I will as it bothers me.

    Teaser - when you kill some mob, you will sometime see an animation started - mob is droping something (cube, legendary, etc), but it disappears after that brief animation, so there is no drop at all.

    I thought Im paranoid at first, but I have seen that many many times clearly by now.
