Mini Events – Kranparus’ Terror (1-3)
    Event Type:
    Challenge
    Required Character Level: 10-50

During the entire event your heroes will be able to complete three mini challenges that will be activated on certain dates (see timetable below). Challenges are mini events that run along the main event. Each of the challenges only lasts 3 days and will only be activated once. Each of the challenges has a different progress bar and thus also different rewards. In order to fill the progress bar of a mini challenge you need to collect The Joy of Winter Solstice Fest. You can review your personal progress, the runtime of the mini challenge and the rewards at any time in the event overview window (hotkey: E).

    IconNameDescription
sol9.jpgThe Joy of Winter Solstice FestThis item is needed to progress in the challenges.
Note: This item will only be available when a challenge is active.

    About Kranparus
This ghastly creature is a reference to the fictive folklore figure Krampus and as such its preferred bait are children. Kranparus has captured several Dracanian children and locked them up in his gloomy hoard.

How to participate in the challenges
The challenges will automatically be activated on the listed dates (see timetable below). You will have to enter the Winter Summit in the difficulty degree Painful to find Kranparus’ Hoard and start the challenges.
    sol10.png
Once you have entered the Winter Summit (Painful) and the challenge is active, you will notice that a whole new path branches from the regular map. The entrance to Kranparus’ Hoard lies in the very end of this path (see map, orange circle).

Once you have entered Kranparus’ Hoard you will need to travel all the way to the top to challenge him. Be careful, the way to Kranparus is filled with multiple enemies and giant stone head statues will constantly shoot missiles at your hero. On top of that you will have to be quick before Kranparus knocks you out with his Frozen Hatred.

    Frozen Hatred / Icy Hate
Kranparus can sense when your hero is entering the map. Once you walk onto the path a loading bar will appear before your hero and will start to fill. The loading bar represents Kranparus’ Frozen Hatred. Your hero has 20 seconds before the loading bar fills itself completely and the Kranparus’ Frozen Hatred is unleashed

    sol11.jpg
In order stay safe your hero has to seek cover in safety zones, which can be found all over the map. Your hero also has the possibility to create safety zones.

    Safety Zones
There are two different types of safety zones where your hero is safe from Kranparus’ Frozen Hatred:
    Challenge 1:
    ch1.png

    Challenge 2:
    ch2.png

    Challenge 3:
    ch3.png

Please note: The green circles are indicating "safety heaven" - places with already lit torches. The places marked with "?" question marks are the temporary safety zones where you need to use the logs to light the fire (You can light temporary fire using the logs. Every torch can be used only once and it lasts for limited time). The cages are located in the same spots marked with "?".

    Platforms with already lit torches
On the way to Kranparus you will find platforms with already lit torches. You can use these platforms as stopover as Kranparus’ Frozen Hatred has no effect here (see picture, red underlined areas).

    Light My Fire!
Next to the platforms with already lit torches you will also find platforms, which leads you off the path (see picture). Next to caged children you can find torches here. You will need to light the torches to create a safety zone. In order to light the torches you will need Solstice Logs.

    IconNameDescription
image10.jpgSolstice LogSolstice Logs can only be found in the Winter Summit (Painful). Therefore make sure that you collect plenty of Solstice Logs from monsters in the Winter Summit before you enter Kranparus’ Hoard.
Note: You can always find these logs dropped from mobs during the event BUT they will only be available IN THE SHOP when a challenge is active.

    Bossfight: Kranparus
Once you have reached the top of Kranparus’ Hoard you will have to face the gruesome monstrosity. While Kranparus is a very powerful mage and his spells can hurt your hero a lot, Kranparus is not the fastest. Nimble heroes can easily evade his attacks. You will realize that fighting against Kranparus is not a real challenge but don’t be fooled, the real challenge starts right when Kranparus is defeated.

    sol14.jpg

    sol15.jpg

    Save the children
Once Kranparus has been knocked out, you will notice that all light will turn into darkness. From now on you hero will have a limited time to travel down the path and rescue all caged children. Make sure to have the mini map opened, as white question marks will pop up to show you where the caged children are located. All three challenges have a different difficulty degree and the countdown to save the children differs as well.

    Challenge #2:
    240 seconds

    Challenge #3:

    The Solstice Cave

    sol33.jpg
During the Winter Solstice Event your hero will be able to visit a map called Solstice Cave. This map functions like an advent calendar in the game. You can visit the map every day and get a different reward.

    sol34.jpg

    Enter the Solstice Cave
In order to enter the cave simply walk towards the ground where NPC Queen Antonia is located. Between her and NPC Phestos you will find a snowball that you can interact with.

Click on the snowball to open the entrance window to the Solstice Cave.Once you made it to the map, proceed towards the cave, which is located in the east side of the map.The cave is guarded by different champions.

They are fairly easy to defeat as they are all by themselves. There is no use in sneaking around these creatures and trying to open the presents without defeating them: you will have to beat them otherwise the presents will not open. Once you have defeated the champion of the map you may proceed into the cave and open your present for the day.

In total there are 29 presents that can be opened, starting with the one closest to the entrance of the cave. Note: Every present can only opened once and only on one of the 29 days. If you miss it, it will be gone forever!

    sol35.jpg

    The Festive Winter Solstice Present
Next to NPC Queen Antonia you can find a huge golden present, the Festive Winter Solstice Present. This present can only be opened with Winter Solstice Coins. You will need a total of 1500 of these coins to open the present. Each of your heroes can only open this present once. There is a great deal of amazing gifts for all of you so log in and fight your way to discover those!! ;)

    UPDATE

    2016 EDITION

    Hey there heroes,

The Christmas event is the same as last year. 2016 edition requires a new minimum level to participate: you need to be level 15 to enter in Winter Summit map!

Anyhow, some little changes were made:

    • Extra difficulties in the main event map, from normal to fatal (so 4 choices)
    • Better loot on bosses
    • More guardian type monsters
    • Better loot on guardians (drop more presents, to complete quests faster)
    • Calendar map runs from 6th to 31st december.

About challenges, it is important to clarify:

The three challenges of the Christmas event are locked in their difficulty. Challenge 1 is only Painful mode, Challenge 2 is only Excruciating, Challenge 3 is only Fatal.

This means that whatever difficulty you entered the Winter Summit map in, the challenge will be at the set difficulty.

    Examples:
    • If while Challenge 1 is active, you enter the Winter Summit in Fatal difficulty, then enter the Challenge map, the difficulty will be set to Painful
    • If while Challenge 3 is active, you enter the Winter Summit in Normal difficulty, then enter the Challenge map, the difficulty will be set to Fatal
