Problem at loading client !!

Hi ,i was playing the game just fine and all of a sudden this weird problem happen hen i start the game from the thinclient it keeps loading forever and never start the login screen ?!! i reinstalled the game and cleared all the cash using CCleaner app ,but with No use ,, Any suggestions ?!

 

Have you tried the troubleshooting steps found here? CCleaner is a good program, but I'm not sure if it will catch the DSO Cache since it is buried in the temp folder.

 

i already tried that , i deleted the temp folder manualy then i reinstalled the game and nothing happend ! also i turned off my antivirus still the problem exist , i don't have java in my computer since i use the thinclient also the game was running fine without java ...

 

Have you considered trying to install Java and Playing through Internet Explorer? Also, what happened right before you started experiencing this issue?

 

I'm also having this problem. Tried all that been said above and it doesn't work

 

intrnet explorer !! u have to be kidding i will never gonna use that !! iam playing on windows 10 with latest grahpics update and the game was running fine ,nothing i have done would cause this problem it just happened ?! and i use Firefox as my main browser i want to play the game from the client !!

 

IE11 is a browser ... what IE has got to do with the graphics? Nothing.
You can have the most expensive graphic card updated with the latest drivers ... and yet you will have the same result as running the game with older generation GPUs. Because this is MMO game and the target are players with wide range of PC builds ... from $200 to $20000 rigs.
Now ... I am playing the game in browser (I always did) and never had any issues.
IE is the crappiest browser ever made ... yet it is better than the client

About your issue ...
When using CrapCleaner make sure you exclude the DSOClient folder ... because you don't want to delete those files unless it is necessary (not in your case). Every time you delete the contents inside that folder you have to download them again and again.
Let the client download all the files first ... then start the game ... after the download is finished. Don't start the game even if the client says ... all critical files have been downloaded you can start playing now. Don't.
Start the game only when the download is complete.
Also ... check your network and your firewall/ antivirus settings ...

 

i said iam playing on windows 10 because the problem i had has nothing to do with windows or the graphic update , it was from the game itself.

just for ur information Ccleaner doesn't delete the drakensang folder located in " %temp% " i had to delete it manually and make a backup copy from it coz i don't wanna download 1.5 gb every time i delete it ..

No it's not ,the client is way better than the browser in my case at least ...
Anyway.....
The game suddenly works fine now, i don't know if the problem will gonna continue or not !!

 

I still go back and forth between client and browser depending on which one gives me the most problems.

With client (recently) I have to start it a few times before it completely loads. Every so often it still randomly downloads the game for whatever reason forcing me to reset all my buttons and click on every pop up (leader boards, currency bag, that area next to gnob, etc.)

With browser it loads instantly, but for whatever reason downloads the game more often (about every fifth time I log on).

DSO is the only game that I have these problems with, so I haven't figured out how to fix the game reloading or the multiple attempts at getting the client to load.

 

I was recommending a troubleshooting step in order to allow you to play the game. I thought that was your goal, not hating on IE just because it has a bad reputation. Personally, I play through IE. This game is the only thing I use IE for. I'm typing this from Chrome, I brows on Chrome, but to game, I use IE. To paraphrase a saying "It it looks stupid, but it works, then it's not stupid."

That is another advantage of playing the game on IE. It doesn't pre-cache all the data files, but rather loads the resources on demand. Also, if you are backing it up, when do you "restore" the back up? It is very possible that if you tried using the files you had cached already that they could be causing the crash.

You are welcome to your opinion, but don't ignore a troubleshooting option just because you don't like it. I'm glad the game is working for you again, but in the future, consider all your options instead of eliminating an entire avenue of troubleshooting because of you deem it inferior.
