    Hi,

Please hear me out. So I've been on and off DSO for the last 5-6 years. During this long time frame, I've been a witness to a truck-load of changes that aren't even close to the general player`s liking: events being impossible to finish within a decent time span, items that do not drop unless you go over 1k kill on a certain mob, mind numbing grind for the most basic resources etc.

It has become clear that BigPoint targets but a few players (we call them whales) who have no limit on their parents` credit card, while the rest of us get caught in the crossfire. And I've been a premium member way more longer than a free-to-play one.

No one is actually safe anymore. Premium members are just glorified normal players, Deluxe members are premium with a nicer icon above their heads, paying for andermant won't guarantee you squat and having the Event Attire isn't quite as good as having a deluxe membership as well.

My logic is this. To make the game worth playing EVEN for those who have a life and a job, we need to show BigPoint that they can safely take their hand out the whale`s pockets, without losing a thing (maybe even gaining).

So a mandatory subscription with DECENTLY PRICED micro-transactions seems to be the solution. We all pay a few bucks monthly and the devs lay off us and just let us enjoy the game again.

They can add 1 week / month of free-to-play to hook others.

I would agree to this if it meant a little more respect for ALL PLAYERS.. and not just a few.

    Whaddya say?

Subscription doesn't generate income as freemium does.
I don't think they are targeting whales ... whales are big spenders but there is nothing worth to buy in the game.
I think this game has become a secret project like the Project MK-ULTRA was ... players are testing rats.
One has to be completely insane to do all that grinding ... and most of the players don't do it on their own. They have a huge help from neighbors , friends, virtual friends and some players are being helped by their AI friends.

I do not pay any money for this game. I do not buy premium. And I'm interested in games in which you do not have to pay money.

There are already 2 subscriptions, normal and deluxe, I'm not interested in another one.

there are more games apart from this, there are even games where there is no premium or deluxe, where you can not buy anything that is an advantage in the game, you only buy costumes, outfits, pets, but they only give visual effects, and hey, those games work And they earn money.

here a long time ago that the ftp players are being made, they lowered the drop of andermant, gold, cubes in the premiums, of objects, they took away the pnj that sold the sets and / or weapons, they made the events much more difficult and for Top off the layers to make events that cost a kidney and part of the other.

For my part I am waiting for the deluxe to end and I will buy a game for the price they ask me for a layer of an event, I'm sure I stick more hours with the new game than with the event layer, I consider better money Invested and next month they will take out the cape for the invincibles because I will buy another game, and so every time, then we see who has had a better time, if those who resist here enduring that they bilipend you and steal the more or less € €€ that you have or people like me who have already tired of this situation and decided to invest our $$$ elsewhere

I almost forgot, one thing that would save this game would be trade between players, something that would make our lives a little easier, and for that simple reason they have been denying it for so long and do not want to hear about it, which is also something I do not understand , what will be wrong in trading that all games have it and it resists ....

It really looks like all of us are in agreement, except for one aspect - most of you guys until now, want free stuff. It's clear the BigPoint call off the dogs and things will be the same in the future.

I'm trying not to take the moral high ground here, but we all know there is no such thing as a free lunch. I personally would love to play DSO free without any cash-for-items, but that's just an utopia and wrong. They surely need to make money off this and hell, they even deserve to.

All I'm saying is that the 'money making' scenario won't change. It's not a charity. Starting from this premise what options do we have?

    1. Leave it be. But in this case, if you're not willing to chip in and spread the expenses across most of the player base and play a fair game, you probably shouldn't be complaining in the forum.

    2. Spread the expenses and get a clean & fair version of the game with more equality. Less things to complain about and less incentive for the devs to try and squeeze the last cent from a certain small group of people leaving others non-paying or little-paying players out hanging.

Of course, there is a 3rd option, but hey, if we still think it's a possibility, we're probably insane:

    3. BigPoint realizes that the gap between whales and normal players there is too much of a gap and they act in good faith making some changes that won't affect DSO's revenues too much.

But like I said, we all see the trend here, it's only going downhill.

    __

I just thought of another option to consider though and added it to the pole. What if you had to buy the next expansion? That would mean more cash for them, the base game would be free-to-play and they could reduce the unfairness in events and so forth because of the profits from the expansion packs.

Another good side of this is that they might have more incentive to REALLY RELEASE NEW CONTENT instead of rehashing OLD MAPS with new names.

Thing is, most companies are moving to the free-to-play model these days, subscription model is outdated.

I'm probably not allowed to post titles, but one significant shooter/rpg game is available as f2p since today.

With the amount of people buying deluxe and event attires (that cost over double that) on top of them, I am pretty sure that they can make enough money out of that.

Everything from a pack of rice to cars and game is an experiment these days... or maybe has always been?

(It's so stupid we can't say names here, it's like a country in WW2)

Yes, they move to F2P or even release F2P, but you still BUY expansion packs and the micro transactions are for the unimportant or with low importance items. BigPoint wants the best from two worlds and it's not working out well for the little guy. I suspect they could even increase their revenues.

Thing is, most people (including me) are going to move on if the game goes paid... because most people won't pay for being able to play a (relatively) crappy game.

Now... as you're saying, they'd still "want the best from two worlds" and they would still make it grindy and requiring to buy attires and stuff, even if it requires a subscription to play in the first place.

Well, I 'm basing my proposition on their common sense. The full question is would you pay a subscription (or buy expansion packs) and enjoy events and the whole game without having to buy other stuff too or would you rather stay free2play and grind your eyes out 30 days for some crap rewards?

But that's too long to put in the title.

if they put it in subscription mode I go to the wow or any other that has that game mode to start from 0, which in that aspect gives 100 laps to this before I stay here and have to pay obligatorily for something that is not right and It has so many bugs and user complaints

Lovely, just like DSO, people are missing the point. Geez. The whole point is that IT WON'T BE THE SAME GAME BUT PAID. Read the whole thread before posting.. instead of going at it like a troll -- "uuuugghhh, I no pay and have same game. I no want dis. uuugggg"

What part of "how is it going to change instantly by becoming paid" do you not understand?

So, IT WOULD BE THE SAME GAME BUT PAID. Do you fail to understand that making it a good free game takes about the same work as making it a good paid game?

    So:
    1. You're wrong.
    2. Many paid games have "microtransactions" for P2W stuff.
    3. Many free games are succesful and not P2W.
    4. You're wrong, have I said that already?

Facebook is free as well ... but is it really free?
There are many ways to create income ... and you don't have to rely on user's payments.
I have many friends working with "free" websites and apps ... one of the ways to generate income is to include ads. The other income generator is ... (cough) ... (cough) ... user data.

Do what you want... but making the game paid won't make it better... what makes you think that they would actually make it fair or balanced just because they would make it P2P?
