only one thing i don't understand... in last level raise etc. you gave us the great "critical damage" in our gear... now you make it totally useless because the critical is so hard to get in reasonable numbers?
i really dont understand the philosophy of this kind of moves that you give something powerful and then afterwards try to wipe that off...?

RA: +100% on weapons and -20% conc on long bows make the long bow a good alternative.

SW/dwarf: +100% on 1h and +150% on 2h. The 2h choice is way better than the long bow + quiver but it doesn't seem OP, cause with the new crit rate system a 2h weapon will need one or two crit rate lines.

DK: +100% dmg on weapons and 3 weapon types, fast, standard and slow with 12.5% crit rate. A quiver/book inside the weapon? this is a little bit too much imo.

Silentmist.. can you explain this 12.5% crit rate from quiver/books inside weapons for wars?... i don't get it ...

From the first post (i don't know if they changed something): axes are slower but provide additional critical hit values (12.5% chance of critical hits).

Quivers and books give15% crit rate, Axes give 12.5% crit rate, those values are too close.

A DK with 1h axe + shield will be comparable with one of the remaining classes with 1h weapon + shield + quiver/book.

A DK with a 2h axe will be able to focus his weapon bonuses on dmg and weapon dmg. If we add the 50% weapon dmg and the 50% dmg bonuses from the knowledge tree, here we have the best DD of the 4 classes..again.

ok thanks for the info... but... as you say.. axes become slower... to much?.. i mean i should prefer keeping my speed attack instead of getting useless crit hit bonus....

Crit hit is now looking like it will be linear. For more detail, read This. For my thoughts (That will more than likely get ignored by the developers,) check out This. Long story short, unless crit changes, I'd rather get all of my DPS from speed and damage as crit rates will drop by 20%-40% chance on average.

Actually i think that i like the new system, we will deal less damage and the crit chance won't be as effective as it is now, but they are right, it's too easy to reach the 50%. Reading the first post it seems that new items will be better, making old items still usable, but not unreachable by new players.

At the moment a good crit value can be reach a maximum of 250 (item upgraded to 50) more or less. That means that new lvl 50 items will have a max value of 275(+10%), and if we upgrade it, it will go to 330.

But they also wrote that amulets, helmets, torsos and pauldrons will have higher enchantments, maybe 400? And we still don't know how the new uniques will look like, so i wouldn't be so worried.

Btw, it would be nice if we could have the list of bonuses for each item and their ranges :)

Quiver and book should be able to slot offensive gems since they are offensive offhand while 2h weapons should have 8 gem slots to compensate.

DK should introduce a long/mid range weapon such as spear/trident to allow a different playing style or build than the current choices while rangers could benefit a crossbow also (perhaps 3 continuous shot per mouse click but weaker damage or reloading time after each click)

"150% more dmg on SW and SM on 2 handed weapons" ...

    then:

2handed staff for mages: goes from _____102-154 to 255-385 with 0.87 att speed.
2handed heavy gun for dwarfs: goes from _96-160 to 240-400.
2handed mace for wars: stays on __________________86-201 with 0.87 att speed.
2handed sword for wars ________________________105-158 with almost same speed.
    just compare numbers and laugh...
    just.... WHY??

Shield that has + block chance, displays only 1 decimal point.

For example, previously these shields when they had + reduction to damage, they displayed this figure with three digits with one decimal point such as:
    +46.8%

Now, the same shield would display:
    Block Chance +.4

However, this makes it unable for us to compare two different shields with +.4 to see which one is better unless we can equip it.
Remember, we can equip it only if we are at the level of the shield. So, if we find these shields before the level of the shield then we cannot compare.

Therefore, I suggest you display the block chance with three decimal points such as:
    Block Chance + .468

I do not like the redesign overall, the talents, fame, skills, etc but will cover that separately,. As for the items, for me personally there was just one big issue - low level items with 300+ critical hit lines. Level 8 crystal upgraded to lvl 49 for 27M glyphs gives 350 CH per line, 1400 total. And this one was easy to get, or a 3CH + 1dmg line combo. That was a major issue since r139, or whenever low level bug was fixed, it is a major issue right now, and it is not going to be fixed by the redesign. Even though you can theoretically find a 350 crit line at level 50, there would be just a single line like that. Others would be lower. I think, those items are bugged and should be changed, or, the newer items should offer much much higher stats so those bugged low levels are useless.

Additionally, I do not like the critical hit redesign at all, as reaching reasonable critical hit chance is now impossible. I agree, there was an issue with the critical hit & ctitical dmg, but, perhaps, you should have nerfed the critical damage, not the critical hit.

Perhaps, you Devs/Mods/Product Owners should tell us what exact (business/user) problem you are trying to fix and ask for suggestion instead of presenting technical solution. Guess yall are an agile/scrum folks who are aware of the 'space pen' story.

I sort of like this idea, but there is one big problem. The % Weapon Damage on weapons also applies to the gems in the item. If you allowed offhand items to have offensive gems, you'd be able to put damage gem in there, but they wouldn't be boosted by % Weapon Damage enchantments on the weapon. On the other hand, if a DK's weapon had 8 (or upgraded to 10) slots, those additional rubies would get multiplied by the % Weapon Damage... And as much as I feel that DKs are being screwed over in R155, that suggestion would be potentially game breaking in the other direction. To me, it sounds like the idea has merit, but needs a little more polishing.

First off if this is the wrong thread then sorry. I also read the release notes a few times just to make sure. I searched for shabby only 2 posts came up.

Shabby chests are still giving the old hp pots. If this is intended great if not the it's noted for someone to see.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Maybe they could have a hilt that holds gems and the hilt is only for 2 handed weapons for DK.

    Not anymore.
BP said it was a bug all this time ... since the beginning of the game. Funny isn't it? They had bugged weapons and they were releasing minor cosmetic releases (destructible objects, more destructible objects , even more of them) all these years ... and now suddenly they are ... like "fixing" the bug. :)

That's easily fixed. Either having a restriction on the 2h weapons which says "% increase only applies to maximum of 5 gems" or boost quiver or book with more offensive stats in the enchantment such as % critical rate increase (since books and quivers are natural crit items) stats that's applies to the gems also. That way it offers more different styles of play and build.

Personally I find the problem of balancing all the classes a flaw in these types of games. There is no problem for me if a ranger always beat a DK from long range and DK always smash the ranger from short range. That way being specialised class has more value or merit. But by having equal or equivalent gears to all the classes or making everything the same is making the game worse because of lack of play styles and build differences. Currently there are only two offensive build; dmg + speed or dmg + crit/crit dmg; as for defensive there only one build - mostly armour with some hp or resist depending on the situation. But the basics build remains the same - more damage and more armour.

The new system will benefit a lot as it encourages more customatisation but whether it will change the existing problem of heavy, boring, mindless, endless grind remains to be seen.
