This question gets asked several times a month, at least :)

Andermant should be spent on Inventory space (backpack), Storage space (locker), offensive gems (rubies, maybe onyx), in that order.

When buying backpack slots, use the deal from the shop that allows you to buy three rows at a time … you'll have to be patient, save up 10,800 andermant before going to the shop, but you save 1,200 andermant that way (otherwise each row costs 4,000 apiece; so buying one at a time you'd spend 12,000 to get that same three rows).

I tend to sneak in a row in the locker occasionally rather than wait to open up all 8 pages of backpack first, but that's up to you. There is no discount package for opening several backpack rows at a time.

Most vets would also recommend that you don't buy gems until they're on sale … but I don't remember the last time I saw a sale (did BP stop offering spot sales at the various shop types?).

After you've maxed out the backpack, locker and rubies (and onyxes?) … you're probably OP and bored, so spend it on silly stuff, like costumes and emotes, if you like :)

Personally I am unlocking the first (cheaper) row of the inventory, then a few locker rows, then a single three-row inventory expansion, then I max out the locker, and then I start expanding the inventory. Reason? You're getting more space to store stuff per andermant spent from locker expansions (400 per one slot) than from inventory expansions (about 514 per one slot when expanding 3x, about 571 when expanding 1x).

There are gem sales, but they have only 10% discount, only apply to a single specific type of gems in only two rarities and afaik they last only for two hours.

Also, currently it's better to buy lots of the smallest gems than one big one. Reason? It's cheaper. I don't really understand it, as usually in sales there's a rule "in a pack it's cheaper"... but no, this is BP, they have to have everything reversed.

The thing you should pay attention to, is accepting proper daily deals.
So, for example, if you have crappy deals like boss ports, dyes and buffs, you might want to wait a day or a few if needed, to get some better rewards, like gems, mounts you need to get a speed boost, or even some costumes/emotes/pets, that probably with this defiant PRNG you would get from the next leaderboard rewards - generally stuff you couldn't get with gold/realm frags.

The importance of this can't be overstated. You are already planning to spend 10800 andermant, so make sure you get more than what you are paying for. My recommendation is that you look for Daily Deals when you have the Materi Rune for sale. You'll likely have to wait over a week (maybe a couple weeks) before you get one, but those runes make a big difference when farming Materi in the PWs. Also, Daily Deals is one of only two ways to get those runes.

It's quite true that locker space is cheaper than backpack space, but if you're not paying for premium so don't have ready remote access to the locker, having the extra slots in the backpack lets you continue farming that much longer before running back to town.

I'm also running very low levels (Fatal is literally that for me, most of the time), so holding onto crafting materials longer than I should because even junk with 3 or 4 gem slots are a fairly rare find at my pace.
