Jeweler
​

Heroes of Duria have long been wearing armor and carrying weapons inlaid with gems. Duria’s jewelers possess the knowledge and skill necessary to remove these gems from their sockets to return them to their owners undamaged. In addition, the jewelers can also transmute three of the same gem into the next highest quality gem. For gem details, please refer to the Gems FAQ (Offense and Defense).

Socketing Gems

Gems are socketed to items that have slots. However, gems can only be socketed to specific items such as weapons or armor so please read the gems descriptions in the Gems FAQ (Offense and Defense). carefully before you purchase.To socket a gem, open your inventory and right click on the gem. Your cursor will change into a "gem-like" shape.

This item has 2 slots for gems and, at the same time, 2 slots for runes!​

Next, left click on the item you wish to socket. If the gem is not suitable for the item, you will get an error message. Embedding gems onto equipment is FREE.​

Note that you can also socket Gems at the Gem Desk with a socketable item already on the Gem Desk by right clicking a gem in your inventory or simply dragging a gem to an open slot on the Gem Desk. You will need to confirm socketing by clicking the Lock icon beneath the gem.

Runes? What are they?

We doubled the slots on your gear to give a dedicated space for special gems and Runes – a new addition to the gem system.
Runes are a type of gems that have percentage values (e.g. % faster speed of attack; % speed movement...). They are not being sold in any merchant, except in NPC Zumpe. You can obtain them in special events too.

Removing Gems and Runes

At the Gem Desk with a socketed item already on the Gem Desk, click the Unlock icon beneath the gem you wish to unsocket. Note that unsocketing gems is not free and will incur the charge displayed beneath the Unlock icon. Once unsocketed, the gem can then be moved into your inventory by right clicking it, dragging it, or simply closing the Gem Desk.​

Default Number of Gem Slots

Items of different rarities have different minimum and maximum gem slots when the item is dropped as loot. Since Release 185, when Runes were introduced, you will have exactly the same number of gem slots and runes slots when the item is dropped/obtained.

Note: These rules do not apply if the item is crafted! See Combining Items for more information.

Adding a Gem Slot

Additional slots may be added to any item. At the Gem Desk, click the Add Slot icon and select the item you wish to upgrade. The maximum number of slot in an item is 5. The cost to the player will be in Andermant, and is displayed under the Add Slot icon. The cost of the first and each additional slot are listed below:

Combining Gems

The jeweler can transmute three jewels of the same type and quality to the next level of the same gem. There are many levels of quality for all gems, please see the Gems FAQ (Offense and Defense) for details on the purpose of each gem and their varying qualities.To combine gems, select the "Combine Gems" option in the jeweler's window. A window will open where you can drag and drop the three gems for combining. Again, you will be charged coins to combine gems. Gems of greater quality require a higher cost to craft. Note: Crafting gems of higher quality will decrease the total bonus compared to having 3 gems of lower quality. The greatest gem you can craft is "Royal."​

Weaponsmith and Armor Artisan​

​

Find your friendly and helpful NPCs at an urban area near you. They are located in every city, so stop on by and look around. Often times, you will find only one NPC doing double duty and selling both weapons and armor!

These hard working NPCs perform many tasks:

• Sell Basic Weapons and Armor for all classes
  • Dragonknight
  • Spellweaver
  • Ranger
  • Steam Mechanicus
• Upgrade and Melt Items

Upgrading, Melting, and Glyph Removal

​

Craft items on the workbench using Glyphs of Power to improve equipment values. Collect Glyphs by melting enchanted (Improved, Magic, Extraordinary, Legendary) and Unique items or by purchasing Glyphs directly using Andermant.

Melting Items
Melt items at the Blacksmith to receive Glyphs of Power.

At the Smelting Furnace, melt enchanted and unique items for Glyph reimbursements; melting items is free. All items will be immediately destroyed once melted.
​

​

What determines the Melting value?​

The melting value is determined by the quality of the base values and enchantments of an item. The identification status has no effect on melting value. View the item tooltip for total worth.​

​

Fail safe for upgraded items:​

Forgetful? Accidents happen. Attempting to sell or destroy an upgraded item will prompt a warning. Only melting it will recoup the full value of glyphs invested into it.
​

​

 

Merchant (Buffs, Foods) / Priest (Blessings)​

​

Temporarily boost your stats for tough battles in PvP or PvE with:

• Buffs (food items) - from merchants
• Blessings - from Priests

Up-front cost will be in either Andermants or coins. Occasionally, special events also award participants with similar Buffs or Blessings.

​

What is the difference between buffs and blessing?
The actual effects of consuming a buff/blessing is listed in each item tool tip and usually increases offensive and/or defensive stats.

Buffs (food items) have a longer effective time period (30 mins). Once activated, a red glow initially surrounds your character.

Blessings, generally, have stronger effective stat changes, and a shorter effective duration (3 mins). Activating will cause a red glow and a ground-shaking animation which can also be seen as you change map locations.​

How to Use
After you purchase the Buff/Blessing, and if you meet the minimum level requirement on the item, right-click the item in your inventory to initiate. A timer box will appear near the bottom HUD and indicates the remaining active time. You may have 1 Buff and 1 Blessing active at any one moment, but you are unable stack 2+ Buffs or 2+ Blessings.

Exception: If you consume any of the buffs or blessing listed below, they do not count against the your buff/blessing count.

Special Buffs and Blessings
These special buffs/blessings may be used in conjunction with other buffs/blessings.

XP Buff
Purchase "Favor of Destiny" or "Destiny's Support" from the shop and receive these experience buffs to boost experience gained. Only 1 XP buff may be active at any one time.​

Buffs can be bought from any merchant with the above symbol displayed on them, only one buff can be active at one time.

Resource Pool for Each Class​

Use class-specific resources to perform special skills. The amount available is found in the bottom-right HUD, as a colored orb.

• Spellweaver: Mana
• Ranger: Concentration
• Dragonknight: Rage
• Steam Mechanicus: Steam

Consume Mana / Concentration / Rage / Steam potions to instantly replenish your resource pool. These potions can be dropped from random mobs or purchased from most Alchemists for 80 Andermants each (or 640 Andermants for a stack of 10).

Note: Resource potions are disabled in official arena PvP matches.

Spellweaver (Mana)
A spellweaver's mana pool (blue) starts at 100% before battle and depletes as certain spells are cast. Regeneration occurs over time or by using specific abilities or skills.

NOTE: Prices have been lowered to 59 Andermant each!

Ranger (Concentration)
A ranger's concentraion pool (green) starts at 100% before battle and depletes as certain skills are used. Regeneration occurs over time or by using specific abilities or skills.

NOTE: Prices have been lowered to 59 Andermant each!

Dragonknight (Rage)
A dragonknight's rage pool starts at 0% and requires specific actions to fill up from zero.

Steam Mechanicus (Steam)
The Steam Mechanicus uses up his/her pool of Steam (light blue) to perform certain skills. Steam will slowly replenish over time.

Event Merchants​

Shady John
Find Shady John hiding out in a barrel during many events and purchase his event-related products. Some of his items may indeed be quite "shady."

What do I do with Draken ?
Drakens are special event currency that can be spent when The Ghastly Gnob, the Event Merchant, swings by Kingshill and sets up a kiosk full of special items. Save up draken and get ready for his arrival.

How do I get more draken?
Draken can only be collected during special events.

The Ghastly Gnob
Gnob is the event merchant who charges his customers draken during his special sales. Find the Dark Armor set and many other unique items when he drops by Kingshill. Gnob has a permanent stall set up in Kingshill, offering Lucky Spheres, a variety of equipment and dyes for both Andermant and Drakens.

When is the next time Gnob's limited time offers will arrive?
Word of a coming arrival will be posted in the Official Announcements.

What items will Gnob bring during these limited time sales?
During limited time sales, Gnob will offer additional items such as uniques, mounts, and so on. His merchandise varies from sale to sale, so keep an eye out!

Can I access Gnob's other wares (normally only offered during limited time sales) even when there isn't a sale?
No, you cannot. Gnob does not offer other wares in either Kingshill or in Gnob's Cave when there is no sale.

I have the old Dark Armor set. What can I do with it?
Old Dark Armor set pieces can be crafted with 3 Crafting Stones each to make the new Armor of Darkness set. Beware! The Armor of Darkness scales to your level at the time you craft it, so make sure you are at the level you want the set to be before you craft it!

If you don't have 3 runes of the same type, you have now a solution: In order to create a higher quality rune of the same type, you have two combine two identical runes (of the same type and tier) with Rune of Enchancement!

Example: Combining 2 Rune of Devastation + Rune of Encancement will result in a Mighty Rune of Celerity.

Rune of Enchancement is obtainable via Daily Deal only.

Exchange Sapphires > Runes

With Release 191, you will be able to convert your sapphires with some especial refiners.
