Recently, I watched a video about another mmorpg game and saw their "CHARACTERS" can play in any server they want and thought "what a cool feature" ,

Why not do the same here in dso. They have 8 character slot in an account and all of them can play in any server.
Maybe this is a good alternative for server merging like most players have been wanting.
And I think its a good way to save data as well.
Or where characters can play in a group of servers located in a certain region like Europe or US
Thus, they don't have to make chars for each servers.

Good idea, unfortunately it ( or many variations of it ) has been suggested/asked for in the past years many times. So far the answer always has been something along the lines: " not in pipe work" or " not planned". I do not personally believe it will come to pass any time soon. Then again I may be wrong - one can always hope... for hope is all we have left.

True, has been asked for countless times.
What if we spin it to make it look like an alternate performance issue solution that grimmag/heredur experience during peak :). White Kingshill? Just go login in a dead server where you can't even get 1v1 match at daily reset.

Probably those servers are at same or close geographical location.
Why would someone from Europe want to play on US server (and vice versa) if they are having 300ms+ latency
