  1. Guide for: Full Moon Event!

Varholm is an island with a rather unfortunate fate; legend has it that when a sliver of the moon fell from the sky it cursed the island. A powerful and merciless werewolf is said to be lurking in the woods of Varholm ever since then. The number of werewolves is unknown to the inhabitants of Varholm, as not many people dare to cross the forest by night and those who dare rarely return.

A new NPC , called Rubina, is one of the only carriers of hope. The brave ranger with a scarlet red hood has sworn to avenge her clan, which was killed by the ancestral wolf and his pack. When first in Varholm be sure to talk to Rubina, she has encountered the wolves before and knows how to defeat them.

    VARHOLM AT NIGHTTIME

Outside of the usual loot, defeated werewolves may drop event progress in form of werewolf blood.

Vials of Werewolf blood are needed to summon the event boss “The Ancestral Wolf”.

The vial is consumed when interacting with an event specific object:
    an altar
    [IMG]

Note: “The Ancestral Wolf” always drops a random gem.

With a little bit of background knowledge in lunar phases and a simple calendar you should be able to figure out when the event is about to start.

Bonus question: How many times do we have a full moon per year?

If you know the answer, then you also know whenever Varholm’s wolves
turn from regular wolves into merciless hunters of the night.

  4. Combat Basics
Combat is the crux of this game. You will fight monsters (also referred to as mobs) and you can also choose to fight other players in Player vs Player (aka PvP) mode and in Hero's Arena. PvP mode is turned off by default on all servers except Balor. Balor is a PvP only server. However, you can choose to turn PvP mode on at any time on the other servers by visiting the trainers in the urban areas.

    INITIATING AN ATTACK

To initiate an attack, simply click on the monster that you wish to target and hold down the left mouse button. You do not have to click continuously. By simply holding down the button, you will continue to attack your opponent until it has been killed or you switch targets. By keeping your cursor on the monster you are attacking, you will also be able to see the status of their health with each hit.

If there are multiple monsters, just hover your mouse over the next target while holding down the left mouse button. You will automatically switch to the new target once the initial one is dead. Clicking on another target during an attack will switch your target. Be aware however, that if there is a monster in front of the one you wish to hit (in effect blocking), you will hit the closest one first.

If you do not wish your character to move, hold down the SHIFT key during the fight. This will ensure that your character stays in one place and does not follow or move to follow the cursor when you switch targets.

  6. Dying and Reviving

    Dying
Unlike real life, death is only a minor setback in DSO.

When it does occur, you are presented with three options:

*Note: your respawn options will default to Spirit guard if you have one in your inventory.

Your equipment will also suffer an additional 20% loss of durability upon death (if you choose to revive for free). If you choose to respawn at the last town, it's not a bad idea to trot over to the Smithy for a quick repair before venturing forth again.

The circular stone platforms placed in each town are the respawn locations where you will appear if you choose to revive for free.

    Spirit Stones
Be a good Samaritan and revive another player in the same location using a Spirit Stone. Purchase these stones from the Trader (Hotkey "T") for 40 Andermants each.

    How to use:
    1. Stand by the fallen player.
    2. Open your inventory and right-click on the stone. The cursor will turn into a wing.
    3. Then left-click on the player.
    4. If the fallen player accepts the stone, you will lose a Spirit stone and the player will automatically revive in the same location. The revived player will be protected from damage immediately after being revived.

Note: You will be unable to travel once you select the spirit stone, so stand by the fallen player you wish to revive. To cancel the revive, right-click in open space.

  7. Player versus Player (PvP)

Compete against fellow players for Honor.

    Open PvP:
For an additional dimension to your gaming experience, enable battles against other players in the wilderness. Speak to an NPC Trainer in urban areas (such as Kingshill and Resistance Command Center) and activate/inactivate open PvP status. With (PvP) next to your character's name, you are subject to attack and be attacked by other players also with (PvP) while in the wilderness. You are unable to attack members in your group.

All players on the Balor server (PvP server) automatically have open PvP status on at all times in the wilderness.

    Arena Battles:
Compete in an organized instanced environment against players of similar level. Honor points are awarded at the end of battle.

1v1 (Best of 3) Duel: Compete against one other player in a battle, played in rounds. After each round, skills and health/resource meters are reset. The first player to win 2 rounds wins the match.

3v3 (Best of 5) Team Death Match (TDM): Each team of 3 players must work together to defeat all members of the opposing team to score a point. Every player has 1 life per round. The first team to win 3 rounds wins the match.

5v5 Capture the Flag (CTF): With up to 5 players on each team, your group must take the enemy flag and bring it to your own base 3 times before the enemy group is able to.

6v6 Storm the Fortress (STF): Players are assigned to the attacking or defending team. The attackers have to gain access to the fortress and destroy the defense's thunder gun. The defensive team must prevent this from happening.
In addition to official battles, you may visit any of the arena maps (entrance located in various urban areas) to participate in confrontations against any player(s) of your choosing, as long as the participants are within your level bracket.

    Dying in 3v3 Matches:
Players that die before the end of the round, go into spectator mode. Choose the player you want to follow around the arena. Cheer on your teammates and pick up tactical moves as the battle commences to the last player standing.

Who will I face when I sign up for battles?
If you are not already in a group, you will be randomly assigned a team. You will only face opponents of similar level in the arena.
    • Players with a maximum level difference of five will be matched against each other.
    • During the matchmaking process, respective ELO standing are taken into consideration.
    Signing up for Battle:
Click on the Battle Registration icon (Hotkey "J") and choose your desired type of battle. You will notice grey/green boxes in the top right corner of the screen once you have registered. The green boxes represent the number of player in the queue and the grey boxes indicate the number of open spots for the particular match.

Once enough players sign up to start the match, and you accept the battle, you will be brought to a waiting room with the other members of your team; you are teleported automatically into the arena once all participants are ready. If you leave at any point after you accept the battle, you will receive a dishonorable exit.

How can I sign my group up for battles?
The group leader may register the group for team battles. All group members must be in within 5 levels of one another and group members must individually accept the battle.

    Battle Stats:
At any time during the battle, you may view the score card (Hotkey "J"), which lists the players in the arena and the progress of the match. Here you will find the total number of flags (CTF), kills, deaths, damage dealt, skills bonus and honor points awarded to each player.

    Achievements:
Unlock bonus achievements in the arena to gather even more honor!

Ruthless! - Most kills in one match (minimum 7). Reward: 50 Honor Points (in all modes)

Invincible! - Most kills in a row without dying (minimum 3). Reward: 33 Honor Points (in all modes)

Immortal! - Not died in a match at all. Reward (1v1): 33 Honor Points, Reward in all other modes: 100 honor points

    5v5
    • Essential part of the team! - Bringing home 3 flags without any help. Reward: 75 honor points
    • Unbeatable! - Stopped most opponent flag carriers in a match (minimum 3). Reward: 75 honor points.
    6v6
    • Unstoppable! - Destroyed most defense towers in one match (minimum 5). Reward:75 honor points.
    • Immortal! - Destroyed most pile drivers in one match (minimum 3). Reward: 75 honor points.
    Score Overview:
At the end of every battle, every player has a personal evaluation of achievements and honor points earned. Earn a badge with every achievement attained during the match.

    Inactivity in the Arena:
Inactivity in the arena for 15 seconds will prompt a warning message with a 20 second countdown timer. If inactivity continues through this time frame, the player will no longer be eligible to receive honor points in this match. Once the match is over, the player will receive a Dishonorable Exit.

Leaving an active battle and a Dishonorable Exit
To exit a battle, teleport back to the last urban area you visited or click on the Battle Registration button (Hotkey "J") and exit the battle. If you decide to leave, you will be given a dishonorable exit, which penalizes you 15 minutes before you can re-register for another match. The only exception to the penalization is if you exit the battle before any other player accepts their battle entry request.

  8. Honor, dishonor, player titles and ranks
In this FaQ thread, we will explain to you the difference between badges of honor, honor points, PvP ranks and PvP titles.

    Honor points:
Honor points are awarded to you when you participate in the arena or defeat opponents in the wilderness. In the arena you will get honor points depending on how well you do. Dealt damage, number of kills and number of deaths all influence the total outcome of honor points. Striking the final blow both in the arena and in the wilderness will give you additional honor points. The received amount will vary according to the level of you and your opponent.

Honor points are permanent, once you obtain them, they add to your total pool and can not be diminished. The more you will get, the higher your PvP rank and title will be.

Note that you will stop getting honor points, if you kill the same opponent more than 5 times. The penalty will last for the rest of the day (until you will receive a new daily log-in bonus. This applies to both the arena and the wilderness.
    Badges of honor:
Badges of honor on the other hand, can be spent. After each match you will gain the same amount of honor points and badges of honor. With the badges you can either speak to the battle master Robert Rampage in Kingshill:

Buy from his selection or spend them on your PvP talent tree. The more you participate in PvP, the more badges you will receive. Where can you see how much badges of honor you have?
    There are three ways:

    - Sign in to your account. Before you start playing you can see the amount on your right-hand side of the screen
    - While in-game, look at the top-right corner of your screen.
    - Press 'N' to open your Talent tree menu, they are listed under the right-most talent tree (the PvP tree).

Here you can see the amount of badges required for each respective PvP talent tree level:

    PvP ranks:
Your PvP rank is your total honor point rank on your server. Each server holds its own PvP high score. The PvP rank will show on your character when you will be in the top 10.000 players of your server. The more you will play in PvP, the higher your rank will become. But be careful! If you stay away from PvP for a while, you might find out that you lost all your progress.
    PvP titles:
PvP titles are the additions you can see next to player names when you hover over them with your mouse. Each title requires a predefined number of honor points. Once a title is obtained, there is no way of going to the previous one. There are many different titles in DSO, and the more honor points you will achieve, the better and more respected title you will get. The title has no direct influence on gameplay and does not give additional benefits – it merely shows the world how passionately you like to participate in PvP .

There are many different titles you can get. To soothe your curiosity, here is a list of all known titles:
    Candidate - 400
    Recruit - 3.200
    Ardent Recruit - 11.000
    Legionnaire - 25.000
    Seasoned Legionnaire - 50.000
    Ardent Legionnaire - 90.000
    Novice Centurion - 140.000
    Centurion - 210.000
    Seasoned Centurion - 300.000
    Ardent Centurion - 410.000
Novice knight of the Order - 550.000
Knight of the Order - 750.000
Seasoned knight of the Order - 1.000.000
Ardent knight of the Order - 1.450.000
    Flag bearer - 2.250.000
    Marshal - 3.600.000
    Field Marshal - 6.750.000
    Grand Marshal - 15.000.000
    Grand Master - 32.500.000
    High Grand Master - 75.000.000

    Dishonorable kills:
What are dishonorable kills? Why do I have them? Are there penalties for having them?

In the same way like the monsters across Duria, the players you compete against are classified as "worthy" and "non-worthy". All worthy opponents are players that are 5 levels or less below your current experience level. To spare the time calculating, you could simply hover over the player with your mouse. If his level is colored grey, you will get a dishonorable kill if you defeat him. If his level is of any other color (green, yellow, red) you can slay him without worries that you would raise your count.

    There are however, some exceptions:

    - in arena matches, killing players from the opposing team will give you no dishonorable kills, regardless of player levels
    - if a member of your group kills a non-worthy player you will get a dishonorable kill too
Dishonorable kills, although cruel, give you no penalty whatsoever. But there is also no way of "erasing them".

~ at the very top of this picture you can see your PvP title
~ below it is your current PvP rank
~ the yellow bar shows your progress to the next PvP title
~ at the very bottom you will see how much dishonorable kills you have

    Rankings
See how well you compare to your fellow Heroes in PvP match ups. Compare your rank to just your friends or to all players on your server. Open up the Rankings window (Hotkey "L") and view overall and arena rankings based on Honor Points achieved.

    Item Bonuses

This is the million dollar question. Whether because you want to pound your PvP opponent into the dirt or get to hard to kill bosses, everyone wants to be the best they can be.

How you decide to gear your character is up to you depending on your play style. Some players prefer to focus on survival stats (max health, armor, block rate). Some prioritize damage stats (most damage or chance of critical hit). Others like to keep their character balanced.

    Common bonuses found on loot:

    • + Damage - adds a defined damage bonus to your minimum and maximum attack value
    • + %Damage - Add a damage bonus defined by the percentage of the total damage value of the weapon; damage gems will also be calculated into the total damage percentage.
    • + Critical hit value* - Increases the chance of landing a critical hit, which hits for a base of 200%+ normal damage.
    • + Critical damage% - Increases the damage from a critical hit by the stated %age.
    • + All Resistance values* - Increases your resistance against fire, lightning, poison, ice, and andermagic.
    • + Attack Speed % - Increases how often your character will attack - be aware that for Spellweavers and Rangers, this also means that you will consume mana/concentration at a faster rate than normal, while for Dragonknights this means that you will effectively be able to gain rage faster than normal. Attack speed bonuses are multiplicative values. For example, if a weapon with a base speed of 0.83 has a speed gem with a 5.00% attack speed bonus, the final attack speed will be 0.83 * 1.05 = 0.87 attacks per second.
    • + Health - Increases your total health by a specific amount.
    • + Armor Value* - Increases your total armor value, which helps to lower the amount of physical damage you take from enemies.
    • + Block Rate* - Increases your chance of "blocking" an attack from an enemy.
    • + Block Amount* - Decreases the damaged received during a "Block."
    • + Travel speed % - Increases movement speed of character (only found on footwear).
*Numerical values are converted to a percentage value based on a sliding scale and your current level.

    Viewing Character Stats:
Open your character window (hotkey "C") to view your current character build. Hover the mouse over stats to view the actual percentage effect against enemies of similar level.

    Gems to Strengthen Character Build
Gems are very useful in increasing various stats (e.g.: damage, armor, health...). Gems can be purchased through the Trader (hotkey "T") or the Jeweler and may also be dropped by random mobs when killed. Many of the items in game have empty gem slots so that you can outfit your character however you see fit. You can even add slots at by visiting the Jeweler in town. Please refer to the Gems FAQ for details on gem stats.

    Pets

Adopt a loyal pet to follow you around.

Fairies, dragons, and monkeys, oh my... What are they and how do I get one?
Pets are accessible at all levels and by all classes. Each player is allowed only one active pet at any moment. Therefore, pet attributes cannot stack and there is no benefit in having more than one of the same kind. Pets are not usable in PvP matches, but If you fall in battle in the wilderness, your pet becomes inactive and can be reactivated through the inventory. Pets have unique attributes and can be seen below.

    Mounts

Travel through the lands of Duria in style with a hearty mount by your side.

How do I get a mount?
Once you reach level 20 on the Knowledge Tree, you unlock the Mount talent and gain the ability to purchase and ride a mount. They can be purchased for coins or andermant at a Grizmek, the Tamer, in Kingshill, Jarlshofn and Ellonidos. Be on the lookout for Gnob, the Event merchant, who sells horses for draken. Mounts may also be rewarded for participation in special events.

    What does the mount do?
The mount will increase the player's travel speed in urban areas and out in the wilderness and dungeons. Speed buffs (like those given by the fairy) will stack.

Can I attack while on a mount?
No, you are unable to deal any damage or use any skills while on your mount. When you attack, you will be dismounted.

What is the difference between mounts?
Besides the cosmetic differences, all mounts are identical.

Does the mount have any skills?
No, as of now, mounts only help you travel through the lands faster.

Can my mount die from mob damage?
After you receive a threshold level of damage, you will be automatically dismounted, and the mount will rest in your inventory.

Are mounts allowed in the arena?
Mounts cannot be used in the arena in all matches, except for Capture the Flag (5v5). In Capture the Flag (5v5), you will be dismounted when you pick up the flag.

    What are epic mounts?
Epic mounts move at a quicker speed than traditional steeds. For more information, visit the Epic Mounts post.

    Epic Mounts
Increase your level of knowledge to 30 and learn the new talent “Epic Mount”. As soon as you've unlocked this new talent, explore the world of Drakensang Online with an Epic Mount, which you can earn through completing various PvP quests or by purchasing one through Grizmek, the tamer. Game mechanics of Epic mounts are similar to those of traditional steeds, but with greater movement speed (increases travel speed by 100%).

    Battle Master Quest Series:
Complete the PvP quest available through Battle Masters all across the land. Each battle master will provide you with a 5-part series of quests that require you to win battles in a certain type of arena. Upon completing these tasks, you will be rewarded with pieces of a costume (4 total parts) and, ultimately, the corresponding speedy mount. All players can participate in these quests, however, only players with level 30 Knowledge can use the Epic Mount.

    Epic Mount Options:
Listed below, you will find the number of wins required to complete each quest The first 4 quests reward you with increasing pieces of a costume set and completing quest 5 will reward you with the corresponding epic mount.

    Ice Bear: Duel (1v1)

Costume Duria: Team Death Match (3v3)

    Cerebus: Capture the Flag (5v5)

    Costume

Dress up in costume every day of the week.

Do costumes give any bonuses to stats?
Costumes change the physical appearance of your character and do not affect your playing abilities. Costumes have unlimited durability and do not need to be dry-cleaned. However, if you die in battle, the costume will be removed and placed in your inventory.

    Where do I Attain Costumes?
Costumes are often event-related rewards attained by reaching certain milestones within the event. Many costumes can also be purchased from event merchants, such as Gnob.

    A Sampling of Some Costumes:

    Cloak
Achieve level 25 on the Wisdom Tree (and level 40 in Experience) to obtain the knowledge and the rights to wear a magic cloak.

    2 Cloak Options:

    1. Purchase a cloak for andermant -- no quest required.
    2. Participate in Zahir's quest-line for the Cloak of Power -- requiring costs in coins to complete.

    Andermant Cloaks:
Once you reach level 25 on the Knowledge tree, browse through the cloak options and you may choose to purchase one you find suitable. However, players must also reach level 40 before being able to adorn your character. After you meet the qualifications and purchase one of these cloaks, immediately access the powers of a cloak on your shoulders by slipping one into the cloak slot of your inventory.

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Quest-Related Cloaks:
Once you reach the requirements to wear a cloak, unlock the quest-line from Zahir, the Quest Keeper in Kingshill, and you may choose to complete the quests to create your very own cloak. Purchase the "Contracts," from Zahir, himself, to complete the associated quest.

Zahir offers a 5 part series of quests that must be completed in sequential order:

    1. Cloak of Initiation
    2. Cloak of Insight
    3. Cloak of Wisdom
    4. Cloak of Enlightenment
    5. Cloak of Power
Start off the quest-line by creating the Cloak of Initiation. Gather all the required items from monsters in their respective location. Purchase the Contract related to the quest. Turn in the quest and you will receive the first cloak and unlock the following quest. Each quest will lead you to more difficult locations, require a higher cost for the Contract and reward you with higher quality cloaks.

    Chat Commands

If you're the chatty type, you can use the in game chat function to converse with other players in the same zone as yourself only. So remember this when having a conversation and traveling zone to zone at the same time. It can also be used to form groups with other players, so you can work together both in world zones and in dungeons.

    Channel Types:
    • /s Local - everyone in the zone can read what you type
    • /a Region - everyone in the region can read what you type
    • /p Group - only those in the group can read what you type
    • /g Guild - only those in your guild can read what you type
    • /w "name" Whisper - only the person you are "whispering" to can read what you type
      • You can also click on the player name who has recently sent a message (as visible in your chat box) to initiate a whisper conversation
    Chat Commands:
    • "Enter" send text; open/close chat box
    • /r [respond to the last person who "whispered" to you]
    • "v" show/hide the chat box
    Group:
    • /invite or /inv <name> [add player to your group - leader only or to create a group]
    • /leave [leaves a group]
    • /kick <name> [remove a member from a group - leader only]
    • /promote <name> [make another group member the new group leader - leader only]
    Guild:
    • /cmotd <message> [record a Message of the Day - guild leader only ]
    • /dmotd [deletes the current Message of the Day - guild leader only ]
    • /motd [display the Message of the Day in chat]
    Chat Window
    [IMG]
[IMG] [IMG] Scroll up/down the most recent chat conversations.
[IMG] Scroll to most recent post.
[IMG] [IMG] Activate filter for game language.
[IMG] Open / close chat window
    Additional chat options:
Ctrl+left click (or scroll click) a player's name, located over their character or in the chat box, to quickly access additional social options: whisper, add as a friend, and invite to group.

    Ignore Player
Time to tune out the chatter? By "Ignoring" players, you will block all whispers and messages from appearing in any chat channels and any group request from being received. To add players to your ignore list, search for the player name, select his/her name, then, click the ignore button:

    ignore1.png ignore.png
If an ignored player changes his/her name, will the player remain ignored?
The ignored status will follow the character identity regardless of any name changes. The ignored list will be updated with the new name.

Forming a Party and Group Mechanics

Battling monsters in the vast lands of Duria on your own may be a daunting task for even the bravest of Heroes. Gather a group of like-minded friends to defeat the creatures in the world of Drakensang Online.

    Why do I need groups?

Groups work together to share kills and loot. Groups will be transported together onto the same maps when changing locations. This is particularly significant in dungeons, which are instanced zones (in which many copies of the same map exist at once). In dungeons, only you and your group will face all the monsters and have access to all the loot without fear of others stealing your kills/loot.

    Forming a Party

To create a group, click on the Friends button (Hotkey "F"). Select the individual you wish to add to your group, and click the invite button.

You may also click on an player using the scroll button (or Ctrl + Left Click) to invite a visible individual to your group.

If your invitation is accepted, a list on the right side of the screen will appear with all the members of the group.

The inviter is the default leader of the group. The group leader has a star next to his/her name and has the special privilege to invite or kick individuals out of the group.

The leader may also pass the leadership to another individual if he/she wishes to grant another player these powers. Each group is limited to 5 individuals.

    Group Options:

Open the Friends window (hotkey "F") and here are the options under the "Group" tab:

    [IMG] Leave Group
[IMG] Remove Player from Group (Leader only)*
[IMG] Promote Player to Group Leader (Leader only)*
    [IMG] Add to Buddy List*
    [IMG] Whisper to Player*
*You must first select a particular player before you can use these options.

Tip: You may wish to add group members to your friend list if you wish to find them more easily and continue fighting with them in the future.
    Group-Related Chat Commands
    • /invite or /inv <name> [add player to your group - leader only or to create a group]
    • /leave [leaves a group]
    • /kick <name> [remove a member from a group - leader only]
    • /promote <name> [make another group member the new group leader - leader only]

Can someone else in my group take my dropped items?

All loot drops, health orbs, and quest items are individualized and can only be seen and picked up by your own player.

What is the maximum numbers of players per group?

5 total players. 1 group leader and 4 other players.

How come I am gaining little to no XP when I am in a group?

Experience is split equally among all members of the group. In a group of 5, each player receives only 20% of the available experience. If the highest level player and the lowest level player are greater than 5 levels apart, experience gain may be diminished to 0% for everyone. To maximize XP gain, try to group with others within +1/-1 levels.

What happens if I leave the group, while in an instanced dungeon?

If a player leaves his team while in a dungeon, he/she will automatically be moved to a new instance of the dungeon and won’t be able to see old team members anymore.

    Guilds

Are you feeling masterful? Are you feeling like you want to share all the secrets of Duria you've unearthed with disciples? Look no further! You can create your own Guild and share all your strategies and grow your very own followers.

To create a Guild, go to the "Player Search" function on your menu bar (hotkey "F"). Go to the Guild tab and you will have an option to found your Guild.

*Note: you can only found a guild if you are not in one. If you are, you will need to quit your existing guild before you can create your own.

When you are ready, click on "Found Guild". You will be taken to a second window to purchase your Guild for either 99 silver or 2000 andermant (both options give the same results). You need to select a name for your Guild. Be creative and think about what you want your Guild to represent.

You will automatically return to the Guild tab of the Player Search console where you see yourself listed as Guild Master. All Guild names go through a review process to ensure they comply with Forum guidelines.

To invite another player to join, go to the Player Search console and either search for a player name or select someone already in your zone. Highlight their name and click the "Invite Players to Guild" button on the bottom of the console. Once a player has joined your Guild, you can use the console to promote a player giving them additional privileges such as the ability to invite or delete others from the guild. You can also demote players or delete them from the guild.

    guild master.jpg

    Console Button Commands:
    • Leave Guild
    • Delete Player from Guild
    • Promote Player

*Note: for all commands other than "Leave Guild", you will need to highlight the player name first.

After you join or create a Guild, you will also see the option to select Guild chat in the left hand chat area.

    Changing Guild Name

Guild Masters have the option to change the Guild name. The cost to change the name will be half of the cost required to found a guild (50 silver or 1000 andermant).

Guild names must be appropriate and non-offensive.

    • /cmotd <message> [record a Message of the Day - guild leader only ]
    • /dmotd [deletes the current Message of the Day - guild leader only ]

    Jeweler

Heroes of Duria have long been wearing armor and carrying weapons inlaid with gems. Duria’s jewelers possess the knowledge and skill necessary to remove these gems from their sockets to return them to their owners undamaged. In addition, the jewelers can also transmute three of the same gem into the next highest quality gem. For gem details, please refer to the Gems FAQ.

You will be presented with their service options:
    • View selection - to purchase gems
    • Work on gems and items
    • Combine gems
*Note: Not all urban areas have jewelers.

    Socketing Gems

Gems are socketed to items that have slots. However, gems can only be socketed to specific items such as weapons or armor so please read the gems descriptions in the Gems FAQ carefully before you purchase. To socket a gem, open your inventory and right click on the gem. Your cursor will change into a "gem-like" shape.

Next, left click on the item you wish to socket. If the gem is not suitable for the item, you will get an error message. Embedding gems onto equipment is FREE.

Note that you can also socket Gems at the Gem Desk with a socketable item already on the Gem Desk by right clicking a gem in your inventory or simply dragging a gem to an open slot on the Gem Desk. You will need to confirm socketing by clicking the Lock icon beneath the gem.

    Removing Gems

At the Gem Desk with a socketed item already on the Gem Desk, click the Unlock icon beneath the gem you wish to unsocket. Note that unsocketing gems is not free and will incur the charge displayed beneath the Unlock icon. Once unsocketed, the gem can then be moved into your inventory by right clicking it, dragging it, or simply closing the Gem Desk.

    Adding a Gem Slot

Additional slots may be added to any item. At the Gem Desk, click the Add Slot icon and select the item you wish to upgrade. The maximum number of slot in an item is 5. The cost to the player will be in Andermant, and is displayed under the Add Slot icon. The cost of the first and each additional slot are listed below:
    • Basic items - 10/30/60/120/360 Andermant
    • Improved - 20/60/120/360/1080 Andermant
    • Magic - 100/300/600/1200/3600 Andermant
    • Extraordinary - 400/1200/3600/10800 Andermant
    • Legendary - 1600/4800/14400 Andermant
    • Unique - 2400 Andermant
    Combining Gems

The jeweler can transmute three jewels of the same type and quality to the next level of the same gem. There are many levels of quality for all gems, please see the Gems FAQ for details on the purpose of each gem and their varying qualities. To combine gems, select the "Combine Gems" option in the jeweler's window. A window will open where you can drag and drop the three gems for combining. Again, you will be charged coins to combine gems. Gems of greater quality require a higher cost to craft. Note: Crafting gems of higher quality will decrease the total bonus compared to having 3 gems of lower quality. The greatest gem you can craft is "Sacred."
