Uh... I'm sure you're asking for more than just the dictionary definition of those two words. Could you be more specific about what aspect of wins and losses you're asking about?

Has to be players killed, or you being killed - that's defeats. Wins is matches won. Defeats would be usually a much higher number, unless for a tank that only carries flags and never kills anyone.

There's a bunch of differences that you can make out from defeats and wins in Drakensang Online:

    • 1vs1: It's basically a best of three, the player who gets to kill the other 2 times wins the match, honor points will be awarded depending on the damage you dealt to the other player and if you win or lose the match.
    • 3vs3: A best of 5, each team has to defeat the opposing one 3 times by killing all the enemy players in order to win the match.
    • 5vs5: Another best of 5, each 5 player team has to steal the opposing team's flag and carry it back to their base, first team to do this 3 times win the match.
    • 6vs6: Storm the fortress is a bit self explanatory, red team has to destroy the defensive mechanisms in the blue team's fortress within a certain time limit in order to win, if the blue team manages to fend them off until the time runs out, they will win instead.
The main differences between wins and losses in all these modes is that you'll be awarded much more honor points after a win, a defeat will see your honor point earning diminished by a lot, although it's hard to state a specific ratio due to some extra bonuses awarded when the matches end.

It's a very basic explanation, but I hope this clarifies your question, if not, please elaborate on what do you want to know specifically, best regards. ;)

  5. Thank you! This does help in understanding the 'win' portion of 1vs1 which I normally do. However, the cross-swords on the boards that shows 'number of players defeated', what is the difference in that, and a win? :)

a Win is a round of battle between you/your team versus your opponent where the systems consider as you won that round.
In a duel, this could be because you defeated the opponent or the opponent died before you died in case of time expiration.

Number of players defeated means the number of killing hits that you scored by yourself. (Not by your team, but just by you)

Sometimes it is possible that you get 2 wining rounds but 0 number of players defeated if in both rounds, you run into the timer.
