Not really, isn't that rare, i also got a platinum the first and only time i went to normal mode great desert once.
THIS is the philosophy, if you wanna lose time go ahead and do what all this noobs are saying, go search gold lines in exos to craft as in the past, but its such a waste of time.
Do you want effectiveness and profitability? Stop doing ever the same, open your mind, don't listen to noobs who cry because possibly is decreasing drop rate of gold lines in exo items.
Drop rate of gold lines in legen are extremely high, does it cost you to get legendary items? Then create the legens yourself but not by searching for gold lines in exo but creating a random legen in workbench, you will discover America.
That's all I said up there, no one seems to open the eyes.
See how important gold lines are, but they insist in saying gold line is devaluated and not important now that exists platinum ones...
Gold line is the most valuated thing we all have and players are getting it for free without any crafting needed and still complaining of drops xD
But I'm the troll here, ah?

Dude you are either looking for conflict or you simply aren't that bright. My discussion point was on the potential nerf of the new and existing current system, which has been favorable to me. I have a couple good legs with platinum lines that I am working on crating to perfection which will take some time. I also have a number of items that are being used transitionally to get me a little bit further. This means 3 or 4 gold lines (of my choosing) because while not platinum, they are better than what I have equipped, and I will transfer them as time and resources dictate. Yes, the progression is slow because I work a full time job which happens to not be DSO. I am not complaining about the pace of this progression and if you read complete sentences contextually you will see i commented that the progression path is clear. This is a big deal. Slow and clear beats rapid and unpredictable in my book.
I am having a hard time understanding why you get so spastic and angry in your posts and call everyone n00b, but your posts seem stuck on a point I made. It is a point which you missed, willfully or otherwise.

I will try to break it down in terms even you can understand, echoing what others have said. When I am not farming materi, I am in the desert, on Inf 3 farming keys and ander and cubes and such. I've spent many hours doing Khalys and I have the cloak to prove it. I have found and melted or sold countless exos and legs with multiple gold lines because they are either not what I am after or are still absolute crap. That said I still like the current system. It gives me many options for craft vs sell / smelt and I don't want it changed or nerfed. You are having difficulty understanding because you conflate my argument of not wanting this current system to be nerfed with the idea that its so good, and I am such a n00b, that I should be happy to see it reworked. Can you explain yourself or even understand your own words?

And i did that, i did that boss and arachna inf 3, yet i have found nothing
You're simply generalizing out of one single case and make a bollocks conclusion
As is the case of you citing the daily chest, a rare case

Gold lines drop so easily( and only in high difficulties) because platinum lines exist, that's where you hunt if you are fully gold crafted
gold lines are simply a step in the progression of crafting ingame

Ah yes, because sapphires are actually comparable to you being pissed that now gold lines drop more frequently
Last time i checked, sapphires were bought with real money or farmed with actual hours sank on them
And they were removed and converted in things that didn't have the same value
So the players who had sapphires lost money in the process

Your 4/4 gold line items still exist and are still usable, your time spent to make them hasn't been invain
    The comparison is nonsense

Another complaint about the release: the devs promised months ago that they would finally give mortis and q6 a quest, a vendor and actual set
How difficult it is to actually make q6 a proper parallel world quest? How difficult it is to put a vendor in q6?Is that too much to ask?

All my guild did x4 gold lines equipment in few days doing what i said here, but you insist saying that I'm generalizing, ok xD
No problem, go for your rewarding gold lines in exos xD

And no, progression is not slow, you are the one who is generalizing just for your single case because you don't have many time and you don't take profit of that time, if you just farm PW or Desert, you are completely wrong, but of course i knew that before.
If you spend the more hours doing Desert... of course you are not going to grow fast. That's what noobs always do, go desert!
It strikes me seeing players from years talking about melting items...
It's too easy to do things wrong and then say path of progression is slow and you don't realize that the problem is not the game mechanics but your own decisions playing what slow your own progression.
Not true, i told you before, and no, I'm not generalizing :)

Look, probably Aslandroth before release could not do even Fatal, now with release in few days (for not saying in a single day) he got full x3/x4 goldlines equipment and he's farming Inf3, but according to you goldlines have no value now that platinum exists, this is the real nonsense.
Cheaper(by a lot) items in Qs and events like New Moon, goldlines for free(no need workbench), any noob in few days can have the equipment and do Infernal 4 solo, so... undervalued goldlines? Slow progression? That's what I'm rebutting.

Yes and what do you think citing a single case, like your supposed legg you got through the daily chest, and pretending it represents a trend actually is?You know that if you tried to do that in any context you would be laughed out of the room?

No you utter illiterate, i did say that gold lines have less value, because platinum lines exist, that's why they appear with increased frequency

Also great job with that poisoning the well fallacy with Aslandroth, but anything other than to deal with the actual arguments, eh?
Also applying your standard when you came to whine about people not wanting sapphires removed, you should just accept this and deal with it
But i suppose you won't have any standard if you didn't have a double standard

    No, you're just exagerating again
No noobs would be able to do that, it'll take a few moths to do that

this is probably his state right now

I never mentioned sapphires in the way to compare it with goldlines or to complain about nothing.
I did it to refer me to the players who complained about sapphires as "experienced" players, because if you had a sapphire this means you have years playing the game.
But then i see how many of those players post also here doing false and noob statements and i doubt of their "experience" in the game, and much more when i read they talking about melting items.
All I said, no comparisons between cases, just referring to the "experienced" players doing noob statements.
You take things out of context to be able to mess with me, lying about the things I've written and twisting them in your favor to argue :)

@sargon234 there is no worse blind than the one who does not want to see.
    I told you, but again...
What i meant saying the daily chest legen, is that you even go farm desert normal and you will get x3/x4 legen on drop, serious you can't understand the point yet? Pfff
You even go Excruciating or Fatal and you will get platinum (don't lie more about platinum only dropping in highest difficulties, pls :))

All you need to know is where to farm and how, not like i see here players saying they farm allday desert xD Ofc you are not growing in few days, because you are not profiting the time you have to farm.

Well yeah, but you can't expect that to happen too often :/

This is something I never thought about doing, frankly.

I'm definitely not trying to bash you, my friend, but how is your idea, that you promote keenly, compatible with this:

    "Inheriting enchantments
If the four items are identical (eg. 4 torsos), then there is the possibility of inheriting one or more lines of enchantment (and their value) from the raw items, as well as the creation of one new, completely random line."

"If you insert 4 items of the same item type and rarity you will be able to see a preview of the stats of the item that will be the result of the crafting process.

Should the items be of the same rarity but different item category/type, then the tooltip will not be able to give you a preview."

(Citing from the wiki page about crafting 2.0)
According to this article, you can only combine items of the same type and rarity in order to do inherited crafting.
If you combine helmets with torsos, you get random enchantments, no transfers. So your method would be entirely waste of gold.

Is the author of the article mistaken or worse, blatantly lying? :O

That's the point, when a legendary drops on a map, is all random, is about drop rate of goldline in legendaries is super high.
You do 3x item you want to get + 1x another item to make the result completely random enchants which is highly probable to be 3x 4x golds on the item you wanted, with high tier items, more probable.
Isn't worth to do the old workbench from blues>exo>legen transfering 1 to 1 the golds. Not even worth exo to legen, that's what no one is getting here xD
That's why I can't understand players who are afraid of lowering drop rate of golds in exo items, that's why they don't sympathize me, because they don't get the point, they are anchored in the past doing the old school workbench stuff and farming desert xD
People do not assimilate that the game changes and they do not realize that the way of doing things changes.
Obviously, before release, that method i'm saying would have been pointless, but now it's the better way, even if some noobs insist in going the long way and blame the game for the "slow" progression xD
This article was made for old releases.

So you're basically getting random legendary "drops" on the workbench rather than from mobs. For some 250 gold each.

So I hope I get it right:
You are going for random enchants. Your method entirely excludes the inherited crafting. You're combining any random items and hope that you get good gold lines randomly. The only restriction to your random crafting is that you need 3x the type you want (so 3 exo helmets for example) + 1x anything, in order to increase the chance that the result is helmet. You don't care what enchantment the items have, because even if they all were 3x gold damage each, you cannot transfer any, because you're combining different types of equipment.

Jesus, wouldn't it be just so much easier to combine 4x exo helmet, of which 2 or 3 had good gold lines, and the other 1 or 2 were completely random? That way you don't throw the inherited crafting out of the window, and it's so easy these days to get tons of exo items of the same type.

Or are you saying there's a higher chance to get good 3/4 or 4/4 gold legendary (not trash enchantments like IDotI in boots and such) using your method, than going the inherited crafting way, now that random 3/4 or 4/4 are so much more frequent in drop? o_O

No. Because the chances of inherited transfer crafting has not been changed.
When you do a random crafting you are getting a completely new item with new enchantments, new gem slots and random tier. With the previous release the chances of getting gold enchantments (even at max values) have been drastically increased ... that is why inherited transfer crafting with R214 is not a way to go. It was all explained in this thread ... players were given guidelines on crafting PvE and PvP items even before R214 went live. This dude is now preaching as he is the one who invented hot water XD
That is why almost no one is doing inherited transfer crafting with gold enchantments now.
Inherited transfer crafting now ... is only viable solution when it comes to platinum enchantments.
That is an older article but 100% accurate as of today.

I am personally selling all items with gold enchantments ... even if they are with max values. I am only interested in close to max Platinum items ... but that doesn't mean we shouldn't speak up for the weak and new players.
That was our goal right? To get more players in the game.
    Equality for all.
Not equality only for those players before me and no equality for those who came after me. :D
We will take everything from the older players than me ... but we will give nothing to players who came in the game after me. :)

I changed my 3,5x golds to 4 with dropped x4 perfect legens or random enchants in workbench with the perfect result, and so my guild partners with no crafts before release, starters and noobs did as well. Since 0 to x4. Also know people who is doing the old way with exos and don't have results yet...
I tried 2+2+2+2 exos to get x3 or x4 leg and it was slower than randomly.
Probably from crafting 2+2+2+2 you will get sooner and more times the gold on the only random line than in the other 3 selected from exos by workbench.
I had 7k gold when release came, i now have 180k and all x4. Waste of gold? Judge yourself.
The fact is drop rate of random golds is much higher, but rate of transfering golds to a higher quality is the same as before, which method is more profitable?

That's the whole point of my posts here, i can't see a noob saying the progression is slow without rebutting it, and how they think they are doing things the right way while doing a noob use of workbench using gold lines in exos.

Yes i understand, but that occurence is rare and it happened to you one time, yet you come here screeching that it is unacceptable and that it happens all the time, when in reality it's you taking one single example and making a fuss out of it, for no rational reasons, just you being butthurt about some newbies being able to get 4/4 gold lines more easily than before, even though there is a very good reason why gold lines are more accessible now, the existence of platinum lines, which are the new top lines

Yes, you probably could drop platinum lines in fatal or excruciating, but the probability would be so low that it's completely negligeble and can be practically ignored

It kinda destroys your arguments and outrage when you admit that you're exagerating
Congrats, you bombed your own case into oblivion

Also considering you mocked players who were against the removal of sapphires( for actual good reasons, unlike yours), you should take your own medicine and deal with it

    Oh wow ok.
I don't hunt gold lines anymore... But thanks for explaining anyway. I couldn't believe random crafting wouldn't suck.

I wonder how many people have no clue. I've been active on this forum a lot, yet I have't read any posts about new crafting strategies, because I just don't read everything, ofc. Well, good luck to fresh 55's who never go to forums :D

I have no gold coins all the time, cause I'm crafting platinums. Maybe I should stop, wait till diamond lines are a thing and platinums become a subject of random trash item crafting ;)

    --- MERGED ---

In any case, to go back to the main problem:
    • Much less gold lines in R215
It's no problem at all then. Because:
    1. The point of gold lines crafting is not to get the best of the best gold lines. That is now exclusively a platinum thing.
    2. Crafting random exo items, regardless of the number and quality of enchantments, yields better results than inherited crafting.

Let's get back to icon design rants then. The gold line drop is not a problem, apparently.

Give me more platinum drops tho, plz.

Do you really expect anyone who has played this game for more than 1 minute to believe this?

You started off doing a good job of trolling in this thread, but you have to keep the trolling somewhat within the realms of possibility if you want people to believe it.

If you aren't butt hurt, why all the profanity and name calling?

Sorry I am not taking credit for this wisdom. I was just trying to summarize the 2 pages or so of TLDR stuff.

    EDIT
Btw. So it makes no sense to point out that gold lines won't drop as well as now. trakilaki knew all along, yet he pointed out the lack of gold lines in one of the first posts. Confusing. If they are not needed in drop, who cares, right?

BUT, what if the lack of gold lines in drop in R215 means fewer gold lines in crafting results, hm? In that case random crafting won't be as effective as in R214...
Because clearly, a result item from random trash crafting is technically a like a drop from a mob. Or?

All we know is they supposedly lowered drop rate of gold lines ONLY in exo items, so legendaries supposedly have the same drop rate as now, based on this we think, there's no problem, because making a totally random legendary in workbench is like getting it from drop, the 4 random echants will have the drop rate as a farmed one. And that's why I posted here and said what I said. We don't have more info about it yet, so the conclusion is clear with all we have.

I'm still concerned about the fact that they haven't put a proper quest to q6, there is no point in it remaining as it is now, since they have taken away the short cut to mortis

Hell, they promised they would put a set to him months ago

not really because since release 214, random items have a high chance of getting orange lines so that 3+1 method will give you a 4 orange lines item after some tries
