    Dear heroes,

Release 168 brings yet another “Invasion” event: this time Jarlshofn and Hogni’s Mine will be “Under Siege”. Next to that, we have significantly reduced the prices of many costumes and emotes permanently. We tackled issues with the CDN and we have fixed a variety of bugs.

    New features

Event: Under Siege - Invasion of Jarlshofn & Hogni’s Mine

The event - Under Siege - is returning; this time Jarlshofn and Hogni’s Mine are the two hubs that will have to be defended from being taken over by the enemy. More details about the event will soon be available via the official guide of the event.

    Reduced Price: Costumes & Emotes

As part of the general repricing, which we started in release 167, we have now reduced Andermant prices of many costumes and emotes. A list of all changes can be seen here:

Tackling Issue: “failed to download critical file”

We have rolled out improvements (of technical nature) to the Content Delivery Network (CDN) to decrease critical download issues. After the CDN rework rollout, the thin client will need to reload all the assets when preloading. If you experience running out of disk space, please clean your client cache as explained here.

    Random Monster Enchantment: “Andermagic” changed

The standard attacks of champion and leader monsters with Andermagic enchantments had a chance to cause the status effect "Silenced", which prevented players from using skills for a short time. This was very confusing when it occurred together with the movement impairing effect of the "Orb of Andermagic" skill. Therefore, we removed the status effect "Silenced" and their basic attacks now have a 50% chance to cause the status effect "Weakened" for 6 seconds, which reduces the damage a player deals by 20%.

    Random Monster Enchantment: “Fire” changed

The Fire Nova skill of champion and leader monsters enchanted with Fire now has a new visual indicator so you can spot the range of the explosion much better.

    Bug fixes

Chat System resets to after map change

After a map change the default channel always switched to the local chat channel. Now it will remind which one was last selected.

PvP: Health Bar displayed misleading information

If you defeated a player from afar without seeing him, in the next round you would see an obsolete version of this opponent’s health bar. This bug has been corrected.

    Quest: The Wild Hunt

Characters were not able to interact with an object that was necessary to complete the quest. This behaviour has been corrected.

    Item: Tempered Myrdosch Pauldrons

When a Steam Mechanicus bought and equipped the Tempered Myrdosh Pauldrons, the character's hair disappeared. We apologise for this unfortunate inconvenience and assure you that we will get out of your hero’s hair now to let you continue your adventures undisturbed by any bad hair days.
