    Dear heroes of Dracania,


    In Brief

    Release 174 brings a brand new chapter for your Parallel World adventures as well as welcoming with all due honors the figure of Dracania’s most infamous foe: Dragan! We are also implementing a new UI element, the latency indicator, and bringing some bug fixes on top.

    Known Issues

    We have detected a number of minor issues that will be fixed with release 175.
    + The new Parallel World set for Sigrismarr has some Localization sentences missing and you’ll see it only in English.
    + The second bonus of Sigrismarr’s set bonus (relating to the “Ice Missile”) for the Spellweaver stops working after a while.
    + The Normal and Painful difficulties for the Dragan event are mixed on the event windows, so you may see the Painful coming before the Normal one (this is only a display bug).



    New features

    The Norselands arrive to Parallel Worlds!
    We hope you have brought a good coat for your hero because Parallel Worlds are getting a tad colder! With release 174 we are expanding your end-game experience even more with additional content. This update consists of three new maps (special versions of Hailstone Mountains, Eternal Watch, and Hjalgrimur), a new quest arc, and of course a revamped version of our very own Sigrismarr!

    Sigrismarr is still a stationary frost mage. But he now can activate multiple magical objects to fill the room with ice and lightning missiles forcing you to evade precisely. Like all bosses, he is immune to crowd control and mind control effects.

    Venturing into this new adventure is challenging but also rewarding! We have added a new two-piece set and a specific spirit core for crafting these (Sigrismarr’s Spirit Core). You can craft these items up to Tier 3, following the same mechanic as the other boss sets (you can read about this in our notes for release 171).


    Maximal stats on level 50 (Tier 3) are the following:

    Every third shot of your "Mechanical Turret" is an ice missiles which covers enemies in "Frost" for 4 (PvP: 1.25) seconds. Enemies covered in "Frost" have reduced movement and attack speed.

    Critical hits with “Rage Attack” and “Iron Brow” cover your enemies in “Frost” and may cause a lightning strike to hit enemies for 300% of your base damage. Enemies covered in “Frost” have reduced movement and attack speed.

    + 10,00% Lightning resistance
    While “Adrenalin” is in effect, 3 lightning strikes will hit enemies around you for 300% of your base damage and enemies near you will be covered in “Frost” for 4 seconds. Enemies covered in “Frost” have reduced movement and attack speed.
    +250 Critical hit rate,
    + 10% Ice Resistance, +10% Lightning Resistance - Your "Frost" effects last 33% longer. "Ice Missile fires 3 more missiles each time you cast it. Each bullet deals 30% of your base damage as ice damage and can trigger effects"

    Critical hits with “Quick Shot” cause your currently active “Mechanical Turrets” to fire an additional bullet with each shot. This effect can stack up to 2 times.
    On top of that, you will also find a brand new Parallel World Ring: Fjalnir’s Ring of Frost! This ring can be crafted to tier 3 and grants at level 50:
    +45 Damage
    +315 Critical hit rate
    + 750 Ice resistance
    + Reduces the duration of “Frost” and “Freeze” effects on you by 33%​

    New latency indicator!
    For those of you who would like to check for latency, we have implemented a little UI addition that will give you a general overview of your lag rate. This option can always be enabled or disabled via the Settings menu.

    The smaller the number is (or the greener the indicator is), the quicker your connection to the server will be, and vice versa.

    If your connection quality and ping times are not optimal, you might want to get in touch with your internet service provider. It's similar to your general frame rate - if the game does not run smoothly, please check if your hardware meets our minimum requirements and eventually upgrade your hardware and clean up your system.

    Our Dragan event is back!
    Your favorite DSO event is back and it brings some improvements based on your direct feedback and changes in regards to the last run. Curse of the Black Knights will start by the end of the month so make sure you check our Events section on the forums, as we will publish final dates and official walkthrough there!

    New design for Tier upgrades for Parallel World items
    In order to make easier to know what Tier of an item you have, we have added their numbers on the lower right corner of the icon.

    New Warthog mount!
    Release 174 is also bringing a brand new mount for those that love wild and sturdy beasts. If you want to add this one to your collection make sure you check our payment windows often as we’ll be selling it there. Beware though: we have heard it likes to eat Draken!

    Shop button on the respawn screen

    We have added the opportunity to access the shop from the respawn / death screen. In this way, it’s easier for you to replenish your Andermant if you want and keep on fighting! Alternatively, you can press T on your keyboard to access the shop while in this screen.

    Changes

    Tier 1 of the Herald’s Blazing Onslaught gloves (Parallel Worlds)
    The Tier 1 version of the Herald’s Blazing Onslaught gloves for the Spellweaver, Ranger and Steam Mechanicus had wrong armor values. These were slightly reduced to maintain the normal difference towards the armor values of Dragonknight items.

    Cheaper Legendary Items (Parallel Worlds)
    We reduced the Materi Fragment Prices for legendary items in Cardhun to 1250 Materi Fragments for legendary weapons and 750 Materi Fragments for other legendary items.

    Balancing changes
    To make “Ice missile” more viable in the fight against monsters and to improve the synergy with the new “Sigrismarr’s Eternal Scorn” set, we did the following changes:
    Ice Missile” now deals 40 % of base damage as ice damage and we reduced the screen shake from its visual impact effect. In addition we changed the “Ice Missile” talents:
    • “Biting Frost” is now the 2 points talent and reads: "Ice Missile deals 25% more damage against foes covered in frost"
    • “Synergy” is now the 3 points talent and triggers from critical hits.
    • We added the new 5 points talent “Piercing Cold”, which reads:
      • “Ice Missile pierces the first target it hits.”
    We will continue to update unpopular skills and talents from time to time and we also know that the Ranger and Steam-Mechanicus classes need further adjustments and are looking for solutions.


    Bug Fixes

    Shinning Silver Essences are not usable on PvP official arenas anymore
    We have fixed the issue that is allowing Shinning Silver Essences to be used in official PvP combats.

    No more traps in Fortress Teganswall
    In the forum you reported a spot in Fortress Teganswall where players and monsters could get trapped. This has been fixed for both the Parallel Worlds and the normal versions of this map.

    Collision issue with Grimmagstone (Parallel Worlds)
    We have fixed the issue that was turning players and monsters invulnerable in certain locations of the Grimmagstone map in Parallel Worlds.

    New Moon event: no more wasted Fairy Wood at the cauldron
    We have corrected the behavior of the boss cauldron in such a way that players won’t be able to add more than 50 units of Fairy Wood each time, therefore keeping your remaining Wood for other rounds.

    Cleared inconsistency with Materi Portals and Daily Challenges
    Materi Portal foes are now flagged as normal monsters and they do not count for the Champion/Leader challenges anymore.
