It actually doesn't make a difference with the fruity pancake either. The FAQ was updates, fruity pancake only speeds up the production (of all event crops), but doesn't give +1.

Looks like I’m doing the same as most people - growing the crops and fetting what I can with no pressure. Only doing it cos it’s the event playfield.

Buyable once only for €15.99, or equivalent in your currency.
Not worth it for an event.;)

The amount of gear coins being awarded in each step of each building have been increased.

    For CR and giver items,

    97 + 60 + 115 + 156 = 428

    So we need 485 - 428 = 57 Gear Coins

This requires the completion of the last level of the first three buildings 33 + 20 + 39 = 92 Gear Coins

Or we can complete the last task of the first building 2 more times.
    33 +33 =66
    428 + 66 = 494

    Also requires:

    1,260 Bald Cypresses
    126 Scissors
    150 Rabbits

    Total Requirements:

2,150* Bald Cypresses +1,260* Bald Cypresses = 3,410* Bald Cypresses
    195* Scissors + 126* Scissors = 321* Scissors
    225* Rabbits + 150* Rabbits = 375* Rabbits
    225* Goats
    4,050* Wood Board
    900* Saws
    225* Sheep
    20* Sailcloths
    40* Tree Logs
    5* Masts
    225* Pigs
    30* Jewels

I have completed building 2, 3 and 4, done one repeat for building 3 and 11 repeats for building 4.

How? Starting with building 2, then buying sailcloths (x5) and tree logs (x1) and masts (x10) in the captain's shop.

So far a net result of 392 gear coins.

When I finish building 1 and buy the rest of the tree logs, I can do 4 more repeats in building 3 and 4 and will end up with a total of 753 gear coins. Please note that you need extra sheep and a lot of extra pigs and jewels for this strategy.

After that, if I have more event crops, a full round of repeats will bring 144 extra gear coins.

So far for 392 gear coins:
    225* Goats
    4,050* Wood Board
    900* Saws
    300* Sheep
    1050* Pigs
    140* Jewels

    For all 753 gear coins:
    2,150* Bald Cypresses
    195* Scissors
    225* Rabbits
    225* Goats
    4,050* Wood Board
    900* Saws
    600* Sheep
    1350* Pigs
    180* Jewels

Extra needed, in comparison to finishing all four buildings, but no repeats:
    375* Sheep
    1125* Pigs
    150* Jewels
In return you get 325 extra gear coins and 180 farm coins + some EP.

The extra wood is great. I already got to 16,000 wood for an upgrade and there is no way it would have happened that quickly without the quest. I now have 4 wood.

So we will still be short 57 gear coins after completing all four buildings once. Thanks for laying everything out, it saved me from going trigger happy with donations since they started low. I will see how the crops go, if I don't have enough stuffs to get the cloud row I may not donate much. My animal stock is low. Raising rabbits on the glade while trying to do the other event on the other two fields already since I would be around 150 rabbits short (if memory is correct) on a first completion.
Edit: I just checked my tools supply and I will sit this one out. I don't have enough saws or scissors either. Actually I am relieved...this event requires too much planning for a causal farmer. In four hours I can restore my glade. I may grow the event crop just for the fun of it with the new event field. Good Luck to all who try!

Some Captain's Shop Standard Item prices have been increased too and certain Standard Item limited offers have been reduced.

All bulding one deposit gives 97 instead of 75 Gear Coins (GC), all building 2 deposit gives 60 instead of 45 GC, all building 3 deposit gives 115 instead of 90 GC and all building 4 deposit gives 156 instead of 120 GC: total 428 instead of 330 GC. But, to buy the ‘Age of Sail Magic Stalk Row’ with the 3 event items, the Farmerama user needs 485 GC.
To get the additional 57 GC (and not 155), the ‘Age of Sail’ participant can solve one more the building 1, 2 and 3 repeatable tasks (and not once as an addition the building 4 repeatable task as well as twice additional building 1, 2 and 3 repeatable tasks).
This means, that I edit the « (+problem) » spoiler table as follows:

    Rectification modified: instead of
please read: « 225 (+75) goats, rabbits and sheeps as well as 225 pigs and 30 jewels ».

As an alternative to the updated ‘article’ Market Value, the table resume now feed & animals to get poducts, feed to grow animals and ingredients to make feed (x=i=ingredient, x=f=feed, x=a=animal).

Thanks for doing the additional maths and strategies everybody. ;)

I will continue with my original strategy ... get what coins I can and buy everything shiny in the shop, leaving the CR alone (I already have over 200 of them and have no idea what most of them do! :music:)
Enjoying doing some normal farming for a change. :inlove:

Thank you -Mir85- for alternative strategy.

Yeah, I will do this event. With the least possible losses.:)

My strategy is similar to -Mir85-'s (if I can do 4 harvests of event crops a day):

    Level 5 Repeats
    Gear Coins

    2780 bald cypresses
    258 scissors
    300 rabbits

    300 goats
    5350 wood boards
    1190 saws

    675 sheep
    56 sail cloths
    112 tree logs

    1425 pigs
    190 jewels
    21 masts

After buying the sailcloths (5 x 6 = 30), tree logs (5 x 12 = 60), masts (10 x 1 = 10) in the shop, I'll be left with 897 gear coins, which is just enough for the CR and givers, 5 Crates O' Trees 'n' Stables, 9 Crates O' Wonders, Mystery Cargo, and Mystery Cargo II.

    More on Wood

I am growing the event crop primarily for the wood.

Because wood / tools drop only from workshops and stables from the main field and from crops on the special field, doing crops now for cc on the main field will mean sacrificing wood. It is unclear that 1x1 is not better for collecting wood. It is correct that 4x4 is the same as 1x1 for the crop, but for the tools it has yet to be determined.

I would appreciate if those who experiment with 1x1 vs 4x4 post their results.

It's clear to me the best drop strategy varies by event. Sometimes the short stables give a lot, sometimes (not in most quests) the long stables give more than one. In this quest there are all simple animals so it is possible that growing the simple animals will yield the most wood.

Events that cater to low level farmers do tend to do this, but I have only been pursuing this line of personal research for a short time, so some of you may have more insight.

whhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat! Now zero is tellin these fine folk what I'm doin ..... (zero they sold) Running a little short here.
Only about 865 more to sell. It would take me a looooooooooooong time to produce them so folk may as well pay.

I see you around the market zerodegrees! I hope you don't mind if I name the only goat that is priceless .... zero (after zerodegrees)

zero, would you happen to have a few hundred speckled goat that you could part with?

A discount would be appreciated as I'm a tad bit broke.

And since the broke farm now has zero-the-goat:

For only 100,000 a goat a farmer can be the proud owner of a zero-the-goat friend

    and of course,

Provided they are willing to buy it lots of 150.

zero-the-goat suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure has some expensive friends

Oh good, that's one less goat that will be stuffed into your limo when you go to sell them at the market. :wuerg:

Since you are so very broke, I'm prepared to offer you a once-in-a-lifetime deal: a few hundred speckled goat for just a few hundred of your worthless jewels. What do you say? :D
