    We have a problem with a number of subscriptions (glitter doubler etc) not being correctly booked. The team have located the problem and the subscriptions will all be booked tomorrow, at approximately 12 noon.

    Ahoy Pirates,

    We had a small sync today which fixed the problem with the pet food being deactivated when activating the Light of Tortuga. In addition, we fixed the bug with the Booty Bags so that they can now be opened again!

    We have decided to remove the "10%" bonus you gain from getting 1 month of Premium from Treasure Chests. We realise that this bonus on the Premium has been in the game for some time now, however due to the value of Premium the additional bonus gained from getting an extra month is too large, especially as the intention for the Gem is to gain 10%, and not 100%. Please note that Premium is the only reward affected by this change.

    Ahoy Pirates,

    We are planning to sync tomorrow morning. This sync will contain a number of updates, including the Winter Event which will start on 2nd December (apart from the Advents Calendar which will go live on 1st).

    In addition, with the sync we will rename some of the existing items which have different “levels” in the game, such as the Sails, to give them a more realistic name, rather than simply calling them “Level 1”, “Level 2” etc. Please note that the item’s functions won’t change, just the item name.

    We will also sync a small event which will start at 12 noon tomorrow (unless the sync is delayed) and run up until the start of the Winter Event on 2nd December.

    We are planning to sync tomorrow, 4th December. After the sync you will be able to craft two new Gem levels – level 16 and 17!

    In addition, we will sync some changes to the raid maps. More information about these changes can be found here.

    We are planning to sync today 8th December – with the sync we will fix the bug with the Sails as well as a bug with the crystal rewards from the Njord-Saga phase boss map.

    Ahoy Pirates,

    We are planning a sync today which will introduce FIVE new Battle Point ranking levels! Due to several problems with the Battle Points page we are planning to simplify it by keeping it as a basic ranking. The ranking rewards will be automatically booked once you reach the required level. Also, the items you could buy from the page, such as the Agwe’s Patronage, will be made available in the Black Market (when the Black Market is open). The items will be restricted so that only players who have a certain amount of Battle Points can buy these items (the same amount of Battle Points you need now).     In addition, due to a number of pop-up blockers, we have decided to change the way the Sea Chart is opened so that after the sync it will open in a new tab, not as a “pop-up”.

    With today’s sync we updated the way the Black Powder worked. It has now been incorporated into the AMS and is used with every salvo. The current effect of the Black Powder is

    · 10% increased critical damage

    · 10% more hit chance

    · These bonus also apply to Repair Ammo

    · The skill “Explosive Alchemy” will give no effect if you don’t use Black Powder – therefore they work in cooperation with each other. This skill doesn’t improve the effect of the Black Powder but increases the general damage.

    · With the Black Powder active you now use far less ammo, making each salvo you make cheaper for you.

    We have also removed the restriction where you couldn’t use the Windstorm and Hailstorm together in order to clean up our code.

    Ahoy Pirates,


    Due to the number of questions regarding the Black Powder change yesterday, we have compiled a short explanation of the changes.



    Before



    ((Number of Cannons + 10% as Black Powder) x Cannonball Damage x Bonuses) x Hit Chance = Damage



    In this calculation, the Black Powder was randomly multiplied with the amount of Cannons you had by 10%. The calculation was messy and in many cases didn’t make a lot of sense.



    After



    Normal shot:

    (Number of Cannons x Cannonball Damage x Bonuses) x Hit Chance = Damage



    Critical shot:

    (Number of Cannons x Cannonball Damage x (Bonuses + Critical Damage)) x Hit Chance = Damage



    Critical Damage = Cannons + Gems + Skill + Black Powder… etc

    Hit Chance = Cannons + Skill + Pet + Black Powder… etc



    In this new calculation, the Black Powder has been incorporated into the “Hit Chance” value as it is a percentage number, added together with the other Hit Chance percentage buffs such as you get with the Pets and Skills. The system now makes sense in our efforts to standardize the damage calculation.



    To sum up, here are some points to note since the change yesterday:


    · The Black Powder now increases your Hit Chance so if you are already at / near 100% Hit Chance then the Black Powder will make less of a difference. Therefore, if you already have over 100% Hit Chance, you may no longer need to buy the Polished Muzzles or equip a Pet or Skill that increases your Hit Chance – allowing you to improve your stats elsewhere


    · Alternatively, if your opponent has a “Dodge Hit Chance” Gem or Pet active, you will cause more damage against them as their dodge will be less effective. You may want to increase your Hit Chance to over 100% giving you the extra benefit that If you have 110% Hit Chance and your opponent has a 10% Dodge Hit Chance, you will still cause 100% Damage. The Black Powder now makes this more possible.


    · As the Black Powder also counts towards your Critical Damage, activating your Black Powder will increase your damage when you make a Critical Shot


    · Before the change the Black Powder was randomly multiplied with the amount of Cannons you had by 10%. Therefore, for each of these 10% additional “virtual” cannons you were using extra ammunition. You might have been causing a bit more damage than now but you were using a far greater amount of ammunition. Now you are using much less ammo in comparison to the slightly reduced damage, saving you ammunition and, therefore, pearls.

    The Windstorm and Hailstorm must now be activated and deactivated when needed. They will no longer automatically be used as before.



    In addition, we synced some performance improvements yesterday so that the servers should be far less laggy, especially during the evening when more players are online.

    Ahoy Pirates,

    Due to the change from Decks to Slots, the Hit Point bonus from the Decks is no longer there. Therefore, the next time we sync we will increase the Hit Points of the Pearl Beams from 900 to 1200 and the Gold Beams from 225 to 400.

    We are aware of the current problems with the gems not being booked with the three ship designs in the Black Market. In addition, some of the nation ship designs are not currently being booked with gems.

    The team are working on this right now.
