Twice Bitten Quest

I've read the several posts on this particular quest so I'm clear on what needs to be done in order to board.

The problem is that for a level 13 test there shouldn't be mega credit card players hounding one NPC. I can pop light and go in for a board all day (which is how long it takes to find Karkinos at times), but if I don't have the ridiculous amount of HP/VP/boarding level that credit card warriors have I can't even play. Forget competing, I'm just trying to do a quest; not get sunk in 3 shots after trying to board an NPC that was boarded 3 mil HP ago. Isn't it enough of an insult that the reward for completion is 125k EP?!

It has taken me 6 years to achieve the HP/VP/boarding value that I have. It used to be that buying things was optional but not necessary. Now it looks as though its mandatory.

 

Boarding an NCP has nothing to do with you having more or less boarding value than the other players. The first person to board that has a boarding value greater than the NCP gets the boarding reward.

According to the NCP FAQ, the Karkino has a boarding value of 15,000, so make sure you have at least that much before attempting to board it.

Another factor is what level of Boarding Officer you have. If you have the gold one, then you have to wait until the NCP is down to 25% of its HP before you can board it. If you have the pearl one, then you only have to wait until its at 50%. If the others shooting it have the pearl one and you have the gold one, you will never get a chance to board it unless you do it at a time that the server is quiet enough that you can shoot it on your own. I can tell you that as you progress up the levels, being able to board at 50% becomes more and more important, so getting the pearl one is not a waste of pearls.

On the level 13 test you need to inflict 500k damage to Akkorospawn,it is very hard to find him,but when i did it that was not so hard,maybe because i knew that it is possible to find him only on the 1/1 map. as i remember he has boarding value 10-12k. But killing him is very problematic because unlike the others npc 1-20lvl he has dodge,so he reduces your damage very much,the only thing is to buy special items for 10%,but it is not working because he is incredibly fast and the only way to fight against him is to use item +33% to range and to have the sellsword. Without these things,killing him is only possible with a friend or a guild mate

 

The trick with the Akkorospawn is that its range is fairly short. If you can keep ahead of it while shooting it, you can avoid it hitting you. Now with the new skills, I'm not sure if its as easy to outrange, but with the old skills I had no problem at all. The good news is that ounce you have passed the (2?) levels with it as a quest item, you never need to shoot it again.
