    Centerboard
The centerboard increases your ship’s basic speed by a certain number of knots.

    Example:

If your ship’s top speed is 30 knots and yer ship is loaded with cargo, then your ship will have a basic speed of 25 knots. If you use the level 2 centerboard, it will increase your ship's basic speed to 28 knots.
**You don’t increase your maximum speed with this extra.

That hasn't been correct for almost a year, the Centerboard increases your ship speed or ''maximum speed'' by increments of 10 per level, everything is weightless now anyways.

FYI: I was asking the question politely, knowing it was wrong and out-of-date on the part in bold letters. However, to avoid the negativity flowing through the Forum, I asked it in the above context to be polite. The link is here: https://board-en.seafight.com/threads/ships-castles.1976/

    Ahoy mate,

I do not see the negativity you are saying, I tried to answer as kindly as I could, I meant no intention of being negative or disrespectful in nature.

Thank you for giving me this post, I shall have it corrected :)

Is there anything else I can help with? :)

I was not referring to you Rise. We have been told in times gone by that we could *not* complain in the Forum! I always thought this was ridiculous because you cannot build a better product without hearing the good and the bad. My point was had I said: "I know this is wrong and has been wrong for a long time, is anyone ever going to correct it? After all, it is in the Seafight Bible for goodness sake", then who knows what I might have gotten....an infraction, a ban, etc. So I just played dumb and asked it as I did. The "negativity" I was referring to was everyone griping (including me) about how messed up the game has been/ is/ and will continue to be. So again I asked the question as gently as I could. Thank you for your help....you may close this thread.:)

We are glad Rise was able to help you.

As far as complaints, we say we don't allow complaints in the sense of mindless rants. We are more the willing and happy to listen to constructive criticism, good or bad towards the game. That is the best feedback we can get and we encourage it. It is constructive criticism that we can build off of and help pass along ideas to better the game. A mindless rant is what we avoid. I hope this makes sense :)
