you to funny I don't waste time playing this game and have not for soon to be 3 years
Pirate since:2010-04-17 next month I did play some the first 3 years but not much. Have lot better things to do with my life that don't have bot's and cheats in it. lmao 1 maps or scrolls no way not even waste time there.

  3. Hearing has nothing to do with typing in response to someone else's writing at the bottom of teamspeak. If you can't see I don't know how you'd play to begin with

Have you people ever considered what you are saying about TS, when you start with the "You can type in TS". You can type in Global, Group and Guild chat also. So say again, pun intended, why type in TS? Now there are some things that are advantageous to some using TS though. You are exempt from any Terms and Conditions, Code of Conduct, relative to Chat, and the implementing Chat Rules and Chat Guidelines are also null and void. As a person who has Minors playing Games on the Web it is of concern. Not all who play this Game are nice people, and using this Game as a platform to get people to use a communication platform with no rules or monitoring is unacceptable. The people here are strangers pretending to be friends. I teach minors to be extremely cautious of strangers trying to be friendly, when they are by themselves. And I tell them to not talk to strangers and to tell their parents about what was said and who said it. Same goes for TS here.

I think it's good advice, concerning children. I passed by my son's room, and heard an adult-sounding voice coming from it. He was talking to an 18 year old, on one of his games. I think is was Roblox; not sure. What does that guy have in common with an 8 year old? Man, did I get angry! You can believe I told that kid to find someone else to chat with. Then I had to have the necessary, and "wonderful", chat about how some people may have a different idea of what "friendship" is, than others. To phrase this "delicately".

Apologies for TMI, and going off topic. Maybe in some way this might help someone else with the same issue, or become more aware of it's existence.

Having TS is not part of the game however it does in fact help in the game by having quick conversations about everything game related. Any guild that makes it mandatory to have TS in order to be placed into a guild is probably losing a valuable player and soon to be a great friend. Hell, my guild lives on TS when they play but I cant get mine to working at times. In response to Sp1d3rsw3b post, if you are hearing impaired as I think what was said, then perhaps find another guild who doesn't place that restriction on you and enjoy your game.

I am sorry to hear that you have had such an unfortunate response to your query about joining 185.

Please be assured, that while we do make TeamSpeak a requirement as to better communicate and update our members, you are not required to talk. TeamSpeak has a chat window at the bottom of the screen in which you can type with other members of the guild - many of which do. The other main benefit of TeamSpeak for our guild, is that we place important information and updates on guild relations in the channels, so when no one is online our members are still informed.

I do notice in your second post that you said you would rather not spend all day typing. One wonders exactly how you planned to communicate with other 185 members, be it in Teamspeak or indeed in the Seafight chat - where typing is also required.

Again, I would like to stress that we have no problems with members who do not want to talk, or are unable to talk. However, we do require TeamSpeak for information and teamwork. If yourself, or any other player, is unable to fulfill our application criteria, then we do withhold the right to deny your application.

I would like to wish you the best while you enjoy your time on the game, and I am positive that you shall find a guild where this is not a factor.

    Best of luck,
    Arky

Arky laying down the law like a true animal! But @Sp1d3rsw3b, please do not feel like you are being discriminated against for your condition. 185 is a very welcoming guild as I have experienced myself, and I am sure you will be more than welcome into the guild if you use teamspeak. We apply the same rules on the UK server and we have players who play at work who do not use teamspeak then, and then when they come home they use teamspeak. I understand with your inability to talk, you may feel that it makes it no easier to communicate with other players by using teamspeak, but, assuming you are not deaf, you will still be able to hear the other players, and gain a better understanding of what they are doing, or where they are fighting. This ultimately helps you assist the guild, and the guild assist you, stronger than they would be able to in chat alone.

    All the best,
    Destruction
