2 New Leagues 1 for players 1 for bots

Since players that actually man their boats are now a minority on SeaFight which is just a reality of the game can we have two new leagues? The current league is a joke with bots getting most of the rewards. Can we devise a new league just for players that actually man their boats and are sitting behind their computers and a new league for the bot runners and exploiters of the game? Nothing ever changes in regards to bots and it is nearly impossible to compete against a 24/7 program.

 

It as an interesting concept... I am wondering how BigPoint would actually go about producing this though, as to limit this league to only legitimate players, that would mean having to ban all the botters from the league, which would mean they would need an entire list of botters. Once they had that list, surely they would just ban those accounts?

A person from the development team or working for Seafight in whatever capacity could jump on a boat, go from map to map and identify the easy ones in particular that are NPC shooting bots. They are usually up in there in the league standings. Reporting sure does not work but when your on a boat and sink them a few times and just watch them it is pretty easy to spot. Just one way as a suggestion.

 

That idea has been suggested to BP/SF so many times over the years from so many players.

And it still hasnt happened.

 

The reason that method is never used is because it is not evidence. You could have the entire game watching one ship who is undoubtedly using a bot, but unfortunately there needs to be fool-proof evidence, and lots of it. If say for example they saw a ship going around collecting shinies, running to corners when attacked etc etc, even though you would know it is a bot, if they took it to court it is not enough evidence to prove them guilty and so then BigPoint would have to unban the account, give fair compensation and pay the related legal fees. Therefore, BigPoint need to be 100% sure a player is breaking the rules before they will ban them.

 

I have suggested a few years ago that BP scrap once and for all the user friendly image they started with in the beginning, clearly a 7, 12 or 15 year old isn't going to be capable of developing a botting or exploit to use unless they live with hackers and therefore if a legit player finds a botter on the water, that player needs to bring the allegation straight up for further investigation. It's definitely time to take the kid gloves off and lets start cleaning up the mess they have allowed to continue on for so long and since we are on the subject, if the ship is determined to be botting or using an exploit it needs to be permanently banned without remorse and or malice with zero chance of having it returned to the player. Stop the nonsense BP and get with the program!

 

can bp not do a check on the winining boats in legue? surely they can somehow test all top 100 boats and see if they are bots?

 

That is a great idea! I sunk and boarded a number of them last night and do it every few nights. All I encountered were in NPC bot shooting mode along with picking up a few shinies and could of sunk me had they been on. Reported at least two months ago. It is why I never report anymore. Why spend money on the game when it is devalued like this? Why even play? They are all over the place.

 

If there are two leagues the bot runners icon could have various robots as their symbols and we players that are honest could have the Jelly Fish going on up. How about it? Make it so! Engage!

 

Now we are talking about creating leagues with rewards for bot ships which unless I missed a bit somewhere is not legal against games T & Cs. Ban em all perm, dont reward them

 

Better still whilst it remains in it's crooked unresolved form, simply boycott it altogether.
