Maybe the game could include a barter and trade market where pirates could go and trade items they have lots of for other items they need. eg. many people have cannons that are no good to them, maybe they could trade them to newer players for gold or pearls or skyfires, etc. Other games have similar systems where you can do this sort of thing. I offer 10 of my 60lb cannons and someone offers me something in return. I have the option to accept or decline?

    Just a thought.

Another great idea however this idea has been brought up in the distant past with both positive and negative thoughts and concerns. The most negative post is BP would lose money regardless of what was bought. Another was because of the tremendous amounts of illegal activity there would be no way on earth BP could or even would police those for infractions of wrongful trading.

I have played some browser games that did have trader market where players could freely trade excess
items off for items they needed.

From what I have seen on them,Fair Trading system isnt regulated by the game or game admins. Its regulated
by what the players accept as fair trades.
While some players will monitor and report unfair trades... Basically nothing is done about them or to the player
trying to gain from unfair game play. ( a policy we have seen too much of here on SF)

We already know, no system will be implemented unless BP can line its own pockets...First and foremost.
so if they were to implement such a system expect to be charged for it.

rember the legal side of things :eek::oops::oops::rolleyes::rolleyes: ie law suits etc ...for example ..if someone were to illegally gain access someones ship and trade its items with a friend then this could be proved in a court of law, this could have have serious implications :)

I 've been dealing with the "legal side" of things for almost a year now.
"Serious implications" ? That's a joke with a really bad punch line.

My wife had an account stolen and charges were made in the CC data stored.
Went thru all the hoops and was able to recover the account.
Contacted any Legal Authority that would/could offer any assistance of any kind.

When it was time to talk to the Feds... They just laughed.
Basically just said:" Yup,ya got burned... Move on."

"Serious implications".... Thats for when Gates or Trump money is involved.

Also, when taking the legal route, as BigPoint are registered in Germany there is next to nothing that UK regulators such as the Insolvency Agency, Trading Standards and HMRC can do about it despite them trading with English citizens. Then again, that depends on what rules theyre breaking. Their company operations would be regulated by German regulators, but any breaches to UK regulations such as Consumer Credit Act / Data Protection Act etc would be actionable within the UK.

Back to the main point though, this trading market. I, just as many other people, think this would be a fantastic idea however the logistics of balancing it, especially with the set-up of this game, would mean altering it in ways that would just make it useless. They would have to mitigate all risks of players buying items with cheaper payment accounts such as Turkish and then sending them to their main accounts, or botting accounts and trading the proceeds through to another in what is essentially virtual money laundering.

It's been brought up before, its a really cool idea, but one that unfortunately I doubt will be feasible. We can hope though!

    Thanks,
    ~Des

What are you guys talking about? Its simple old items top players do not need can be sent to lower players, easy. How would they lose money? People still want and need doomhammers and contact mines and whatever else, there is no way to get these other than in payment forms so you could have a billion pearls and you wouldn't be able to obtain those items. Right now you can get millions of pearls anyways lvl 26 pirate and up. They should have a place to trade your items or at least be able to donate them to a guild like gold so that they can give those items to new players to help level them up. I have over 300 level 4 voodoo cannons which are useless to me.
