i know most people will just say "get better at the game then" but buidling a ship takes time and during peak times i can't even move a few squares to repair before being sunk again when im 1/4 hp.

it just seems that if you havent been playing for years and already have a good ship then you cant play

if it stays like this i'm going to find a different game.

Building a ship will most definitely take time and effort. Most of that time will be primarily on your own time and choosing but there are a few things you can do...
    1. Look at the time frames people are playing, 24/7 it seems but not all the time, depending on where you live, here in the states or in Europe, there will be people on but if it's a mainly certain few people or guilds then record the time frame and adjust yours accordingly.
    2. Depending on what level map you can get into, alternate the maps you visit when online, don't set a pattern from day to day, if possible try to log out in 1 maps if your a low level player.
    3. Stay off the global chat, nobody will know your on unless you type something and then they can find out where your at and sink you. Keep your conversations to a minimum, don't posts sinks or any of that drivel nonsense or boast to make yourself look good, keep it low keyed.
    4. Choose your friends wisely that will help you from time to time, but even a small level player can help a larger player when in need.
    5. When questing and testing don't be afraid to ask or maybe team up with someone who is also testing.
    6. When building a ship get the cannon stuff done first as much as can be done! Expansions, castles, skills and the like will come with time.
    7. Don't spend precious pearls on garbage from the market, if your a low level player don't be buying windstorms because they wont help if you don't have skills, or buying a Tortuga light just take the hits and sink and rep up quickly. There are many more items you don't really need until say you hit the 10 maps or higher.
    8. Join a guild that mainly is a ship building guild...they will help you level up and protect you most times when sailing with them.
    9. Don't use your boat name in the forum here, change it, they can track you down as in item 3.
    10. Don't get frustrated because it takes a long time to build, be patient, set yourself some goals for the day, week and month, accomplish them and move on to the next set.

Gook luck to you and hopefully we'll see ya on the water, preferably on it not under it.

thats actually a very good list, a thing most people dont do, is i unlock rep castle to lvl2 first (it may not look significant , but starting out 85% of your game is repairing) and its a cheaper castle. when you find the good times when you can play a good chunk of time, try buy the .99 (advj pac) 1x prem-doublr-discount. dont spend anything over coffee change for a long time, untill you know youll stick with the game.
