Is Ther Really Any Value To Range Anymore?

    It seems like the trend towards event ships having more range than the Range skill give you and the new NCP that immediately chase you down when you shoot at them that Range is no longer of any value for PVE playing. Can anyone name a PVE situation where Range still helps?

    farming quintors, ranging kraken, ranging many event ships ( siren ) lateest good example, there's many, soime its that little sweet spot, some its + wind books, some its 1 aquare. ever done a cancer map or libra with no range. much more irritating
