Safe Havens

    With Seafights current review of maps why not get rid of the 'Safe Haven' maps and put a 'Safe Haven Island' into the remaining maps.
    All they would need around them would be an exclusion zone from firing ammo.

    Its an idea, but I think it would just be abused. Players could just sail directly into the safe area during a fight if theyre losing. The way the maps are to be set will make it so that every map is adjacent to a safe haven, so you never need to teleport or anything.

    I don't believe anything much would change ...you sail in pass the towers and have 15 seconds(like you do on a normal map transfer) and you are in safe haven. Perhaps a time limit as well giving time for 'the cauldron, gem cutter etc'. After 15 minutes you are ejected back out onto the sea - even if you log out you come back onto the sea.

    Having a "time limit" in the safe haven although sounds smart is really not a good idea for this simple reason, peeps need time to transfer gems from one ship to another, time to upgrade those gems which takes way to much time, to visit the cauldron of aruba, and to accept any quests or tests and to ensure they have the associated required items for those tests.
    As Des has said when BP reconfigures the map scheme a safe haven will be adjacent to regular maps instead of having to sail 2 -3 maps to reach a safe haven.
    I would though propose a slight but significant change to the safe haven set up and who is allowed to enter those havens, just like on certain events, the player would need to be within that range level of map to enter, just for example, a player is level 5, he currently has 2 safe haven he can sail to 2-1 and 5-1, being a level 5 pirate under the proposed change he would only be allowed into the 5-1 safe haven.

    With the upcoming changes to how the maps will be planned out, where Safe Havens will be accessible from every map, I've got to agree. They don't need changing or anything, they work exactly how they should. The only issue anybody seems to have with the Safe Havens that I am aware of, which is rarely voiced due to how irrelevant it is, is the added time where you have to teleport to the safe haven then back again and it can take a few minutes cashing in or starting a quest. That's basically it, and it would be resolved with the upcoming changes.

    Just another antic to cater to the big money spenders,battle point hogs and bottom feeders.

    I guess if that slippery downward slop wasnt bad enough.... Steepening the the slop angle and pourin
    motor oil on the it should do the trick.

    Changing the map layout and safe haven accesses isnt going to do anything to restore the game
    once peeps catch on they will still have to deal with the same issues we have all complained about
    at one time or another for as long as the game was available for play.

    But feel free to do nothing to really fix the real game probs.

    Keep doing nothing long enough....sooner or later.... There wont be anything left to do something about.
