    The Winter Thaw Event 2017

The Winter Thaw Event - from 19th January, noon, until 31st January, noon, 2017.

The Black Market/Trade Market will remain open until the end of the day on 1st February! All times are local server time.

The Ice Ammo will melt on 2nd February at 12 noon (LST).
No other ammo will melt – only the Ice Ammo!

In the Trade Market you can craft Ice Ammo using Snow Ammo plus a little bit of gold. You can’t buy Ice Ammo in the black market, only crafting is possible. In addition, it is also possible to craft Burning Ice Ammo using Ice Ammo and some pearls – however Burning Ice Ammo only causes extra damage against Skuld.

The Urd, Verdandi and Skuld NPCs sail around on ALL PvP maps during the event.

The Skuld NPCs are minions from Verdandi.

You can use any ammo (gold or pearl) to sink Urd! Explosive Ammo causes more damage against Urd.

In order to sink Verdandi and Skuld you can use any pearl ammo – Ice Ammo causes far greater damage against Verdandi whereas Burning Ice Ammo grants you bonus damage against Skuld!

Urd gives you some Snowball ammo. The amount you get depends on how much damage you cause against it. The player who causes the most damage also gets 1 crystal and gains reputation with Sigurd.

Verdandi gives you Pearls depending on how much damage you cause.

The player who causes the most damage also gains reputation with Sigurd.

Skuld gives you Crystals and Ice Ammo, shared depending on how much damage you cause. The player who causes the most damage gains reputation with Sigurd and has also a small chance to get 1 dragonfire.

Although all of the Ice Ammo will melt on the 2nd February at noon, it is still ammo worth having until then! Against Verdandi it causes extra damage (although the damage caused over time is not increased). Not only that, but it also freezes your opponents for 10 seconds.

After you have been frozen and start moving again, there is a cooldown of 20 seconds until you can be frozen by any other player again.

Sigurd Lundgren has 4 quests chains for you. For 3 quest chains a certain amount of reputation with Siguard is requested.

Ice Floes are available during the event on the PvP maps. If you make the last shot against them, you will be rewarded! Rewards include Ice Ammo, Windstorm, Mojos, Agwen Armor Plates, Black powder, Agwe Amulet and Skyfires.

Points can be obtained by making the most damage against any of the 3 Event NPCs mentioned above. At the end of the event the rewards will be as follows:
    • 1st place: 15x Firestorm Cannons and 1x Libra Bonus Map
    • 2nd place: 10x Firestorm Cannons and 1x Aquarius Bonus Map
    • 3rd place: 5x Firestorm Cannons and 1x Aquarius Bonus Map
    • 4th and 5th place: 1x Aquarius Bonus Map
    • 4 Random players*: 1x Taurus Bonus Map
    • 1 Random player*: 10x Firestorm Cannons and 1x Taurus Bonus Map.
*who finished in position 1 - 100 in the event ranking.

Please note that due to the prizes being given out randomly, players can win more than once!

Don’t forget! Ice Ammo will melt on 2nd February!
